This was originally intended to be the pilot episode of the podcast but it just wasn't up to par with my standards. I removed it and re recorded and edited it just because. You may have noticed that some of the episodes don't make sense chronologically speaking so this is me trying to explain it. I did the same thing for the undead episode (original episode 2) and that will be out some time this week with luck. Thanks for supporting me and sorry about the mess. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/obscurednd/message
Sorry bout the mess. This was originally the first episode of the podcast but, it just wasn't up to my standards. Its got a little on Fission slime, Stone pudding, Bloodfire ooze and slithering hoards. The information ion this episode isn't great so I removed it. Now, I'm deciding to put it back up as a bonus episode. Enjoy --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/obscurednd/message
This episode of The Geek Gossip is perhaps one of the most special ones of the year when we premiere our new guest segment, the Jetpack Launchpad, in which each week we our joined by a different staff member of Jetpack Comics and Games. To kick things off, we are joined by our good buddy Rich for some of our geekiest gossip yet when we talk about what's new at Jetpack, what's flying off the shelves lately, some upcoming books that are destined to be blockbuster hits and we go down a massive rabbit hole about what's gonna play out when Alien and Predator enter the Marvel universe in some upcoming comics. Jack and Artie also review the latest extension to the MCU, the first episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which set up what phase four is gonna look like while feeling a lot like the classic Captain America movies and introducing new characters into the MCU, like the Flagsmashers and John Walker, the U.S. Agent. In Tales from the Dollar Bin, our dad joins us when he reviews Marvel Spotlight on the Dragon Lord, Questprobe #1 and Shade the Changing Man #1 from Spider-Man co creator Steve Ditko while Artie reviews Transformers: Head Masters #1 and Jack reviews Bloodshot #2 and Bloodfire #6 (see the common theme?). Thank you so much to everyone who made this monumental episode possible. Excelsior, true believers!

BloodFire Studios Dennis GreenHillBloodFire Studios is the brain child of Dennis Greenhill and Lee Kohse. It was at the Las Vegas Comic Con in Dec. 96 that they laid the ground work for the stories "Dark Tarot" and "Dragoons". In 1997, both stories were offered to their publisher at the time as mini series' but were told that for various reasons they would not publish either story. After having developed some 5 separate stories for their former publisher already and not having a single one published. Their frustration peaked at the 1997 San Diego Comic Con when the comment was made that for any of their stories to see print they would have to publish it themselves. And so, in the summer of 1998 Lee and Dennis left and BloodFire Studios was born. Its purpose, to expand the medium of comics and to push the creative edge of Indy comics with fresh stories and original art styles. The name BloodFire Studios was inspired by the Type O Negative song "Blood and Fire" from their 1993 "Bloody Kisses" LP

Back to the old school and done the old school way (All vinyl, two turntables and a mixer). This mix showcases a different aspect of the sounds I like - soul and a bit of disco funk. It's more about the journey and selection here; not claiming to break the ultra rare and elusive, although you certainly won't find a couple of these easily and/or without paying good money for it. :) The mix is roughly the set I played for the Beat Swap Meet in Los Angeles on September 15, 2013; roughly because I recorded this after and not when I played and because I can't be certain that the tracks in this particular set are identical to the Beat Swap Meet set. The track listing is as follows: 1. Atmosfear "Xtra Special" (Dry mix) [Elite Records Ltd., 1982] 2. The Cool Notes "Spend the Night" [Abstract Records, 1985] 3. Patrice Rushen "Feels So Real (Won't Let Go)" [Elektra, 1984] 4. Gladys Knight & the Pips "Save the Overtime (For Me)" [Columbia, 1983] 5. Whodini "Five Minutes of Funk" [Jive, 1984] 6. I Level "Give Me" [Epic/Virgin, 1982] 7. Gwen Guthrie "Should've Been You" [Island Records, 1982] 8. Project Future "Ray-Gun-Omics" [Capitol Records, 1983] 9. Love Unlimited Orchestra (presents Charles Webster) "Welcome Aboard" [Unlimited Gold Records, 1981] 10. Charles Earland "Intergalactic Love Song" [Mercury, 1976] 11. Bloodfire VIII "Bloodfire vs. Creative Source" [Bloodfire, 2011] 12. GQ "Someday" [Arista, 1980] Enjoy!
