Its all through loopholes apparently.Imagine talking to the CEO. The police have been called but do they know who these people are?  Dear Ross Mc Ewan,Thank you for coming down. These people here are praying and meditating in order to connect with  you or the public or with something larger than all of us. You are among people whose lives have been dedicated to the greater good. We are all depending on you to know what to do. BANKING CLIMATE FAILUREThe banners directed at the bank are simple : STOP FUNDING COAL, but in the Sydney HQ of the NAB Bank the calculations must be complex. Their policy is to reduce their exposure to coal yet they have financed the coal industry with $3.3billion since the Paris Climate Ageement. How much PR can cover that up? The new Market Forces report Banking Climate Failure explains the loopholes. Banking Climate Failure 2023 - Market Forces"The big four banks have committed to not providing direct finance for new thermal coalprojects, and all except ANZ have restrictions on project finance for new oil and gas fields, although these are opaque and littered with caveats.Yet none of the banks rule out financing the companies that are developing these new fossilfuel supply projects and are therefore continuing to fund this activity. It's alsoworth noting that none of the banks exclude finance to new fossil fuel transport orprocessing infrastructure, such as LNG terminals, despite these projects being out of line withglobal climate goals." Later in the month a bigger coalition from MOVE BEYOND COAL blocked the entrances of the HQ with signs saying STOP NAB WORKING WHILE NAB WORKS FOR COAL.You can take action: 1. Calling all shareholders! - Market Forces2. I got to sit down with my first guy! I was thrilled to have Tony Gerber on my podcast and to have him share his journey and his perspective from the masculine.  Side note, he's quite funny and easy to listen to!Born and raised in Mormon religion it was Tony's language. It wasn't something he bought into, it was just his reality. Going to Rick's college, serving a Mormon mission, all provided experiences where Tony started question what spirituality really meant to him. He started finding that he struggled with the idea of anyone telling him what his relationship with God should be. Sharing his thoughts and wisdom on moral superiority, the patriarchy,  family experiences including a bit of his wife's challenges with religion. Tony supported a lot of the core beliefs associated with the Mormon religion but he didn't align with the organizational government of the church. Sharing nuggets like, "Every time we are not being authentic with yourself it's nature pushing us to examine something within ourselves." or "A negative expression of masculinity is when a man tries to dominate and control.  Men & women should council together." You will love this episode! I know I did. Find more about Tony and his upcoming men's retreats at: www.tribeofpassage.com

"Today, The Alt-Country Show premieres the scenic, DIY music video for "Parkway Bound." The song can be found on North Carolina artist, Shay Martin Lovette's sophomore release, Scatter & Gather. The album dropped on May 14th and is produced by Joseph Terrell of Mipso. Beautiful arrangements showcase Lovette's crisp vocals and punctuate his songwriting. [youtubelg]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UILkszuP0p4[/youtubelg] Lovette tells us a little bit about the making of the video, recording "Parkway Bound" for the album, and Scatter & Gather as a whole. On the idea behind the video: "I'm super excited to share this video, especially because it was a 100% DIY affair and the footage was captured on iPhones. My partner, Julianna Liegel captured most of the footage and Joseph Terrell, Gabe Anderson, and I filmed the rest. Gabe Anderson also edited the video. The idea for this video was pretty straight forward. “Parkway Bound” was written around the concept of someone leaving their troubles behind and escaping to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I am lucky enough to live less than a mile from the parkway, and have spent countless hours enjoying the mountains, trails, and creeks that can be found in the region so it felt natural to give the video a sort of “day in the life” type vibe. My good friend, Joseph Terrell (Mipso) who produced Scatter & Gather, drove his Jeep Comanche to Boone, North Carolina (where I'm based) and we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway for a full day of cruising to different scenic overlooks, rambling down trails, eating biscuits, and rock hopping to various waterfalls in the area.  By the end of the day we were exhausted but as we watched the sun disappear behind the Blue Ridge Mountains we were thankful for the journey." On the making of the song with Joseph: "'Parkway Bound' was recorded live at the Rubber Room Studio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with my dream string band accompanying me and taking this tune to a beautifully folky place. Joseph Terrell (Mipso) sang harmony vocals, Aaron Ballance played Dobro, Libby Rodenbough (Mipso) played Fiddle, Andrew Marlin (Watchhouse) played mandolin, and Wood Robinson (Mipso) played upright bass. We only played the song twice and the second take was the keeper!" On the album: "Scatter & Gather is a collection of songs that I wrote on acoustic guitar at home in Boone, North Carolina and then fleshed out in the studio with members of Mipso, my band, and some very talented special guests like Andrew Marlin (Watchhouse). I had so much fun in the studio kicking ideas around with Joseph Terrell until each song got to a place that we both could be excited about. Joseph and I both have backgrounds in roots music but embrace the idea of experimenting with those roots so it was our goal to let both aspects shine through on this album." Be sure to listen to the podcast which features multiple tracks from Shay Martin Lovette's new album. Throughout history, Christianity and Islam have battled it out, each vying to be the dominant religion on our planet. Jews, on the other hand, have done everything within their power to stay inside their tiny communities. Becoming Jewish, to this day, is extremely difficult. We’ve done a few episodes in the past on the struggles of “orthodox” conversion. The fact of the matter is - if you don’t go full ‘orthodox’, Israel will not consider you a real Jew. The divide between Orthodox Judaism and other denominations, mainly reform and conservative Judaism, is growing wider and wider. And many people find themselves stuck in this divide. Rabbi Angela was born in South Korea to a Jewish Father and a Budhist mother. She grew up in America, and from a young age she experienced demeaning comments, by fellow jews, doubting her Judaism. And from a young age, she decided she would not let those people dictate her relationship with Judaism. What led Angela on the path of becoming one of the most influential women Rabbis in America? How did she pave a way from Temple Beth El in Tacoma, Washington, to singing Hanunuka songs to President Obama in the White House? And ultimately, what helped her persevere in spite of all the obstacles she faced? We’re honored and thrilled to be joined by the Rabbi and Cantor Angela Buchdahl.
