In the latest episode of the Antler Up Podcast, host Jeremy has Byron Horton on the podcast from The Whitetail Experience. Byron and Jeremy share the importance of setting goals for the post-season, allowing hunters to reflect on their achievements and identify areas for improvement. Byron shares his perspectives on scouting trips and shed hunting, emphasizing how these activities provide invaluable insights for future hunting seasons. But it's not just about technology and gadgets. We also discuss the significance of relying less on technology, trusting one's instincts, and immersing oneself in the woods for a more authentic and fulfilling hunting experience. Our conversation takes a turn towards the next generation, highlighting the benefits of getting kids outdoors. Byron sheds light on how exposing children to nature goes beyond physical activity, fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment. As we venture deeper into the discussion, Byron encourages hunters to step outside their comfort zones, sharing personal stories of new experiences and the resulting personal growth. The uncertainty surrounding the future of hunting is also on the table, with concerns about pay-to-play hunting and the impact of hunting companies on the quality of the hunting experience. For those looking to enhance the challenge, Byron explores the idea of going without trail cameras, adding an element of surprise and a heightened sense of adventure to the hunt. But the conversation doesn't stop there – we tackle the joy of tinkering with gear and trying new hunting methods, providing insights into how these aspects can significantly enhance the enjoyment of the sport. Finally, we wrap up our conversation by exploring the camaraderie of hunting with friends and the thrill of planning random hunts. Byron shares anecdotes of unique and memorable experiences that have been created through these spontaneous adventures. So, grab your gear, sit back, and join us on this episode as we Antler Up with Byron Horton on today's episode of the Antler Up Podcast. Stay tuned, stay safe, and Antler Up! Hey everyone, welcome to episode 188 of the Antler Up Podcast! On this week's episode I was joined by Byron Horton from The Whitetail Experience. Byron is a guest that I am extremely excited to have on the show! I have been watching Bryon's YouTube videos the last few years and tune into his podcast whenever he drops them right here on the Sportmen's Empire! This is one of those episodes where you name it, we talked about it when it comes to hunting whitetails! From the struggles of last season, mobile gear, the pay to play, self-filming and getting the last minute pieces together for this upcoming season, we talked about it! We begin this episode by hearing Byron discuss some of the struggles he encountered last season and if there are any goals heading into this upcoming year. We dive into some early season hunts that can be possible for Byron and the struggles with hunting during the early season. We get into what Byron is doing right now to make sure everything is good to go for the year and what steps are needed to dial in your setup with all the gear before the year begins. We also get into self-filming talk and this was really great to hear because I believe Byron does a hell of a job with the camera and telling a story through the lens. If you haven't had the chance to watch any of his videos, this evening go to YouTube and check them out! Some freaking awesome hunts! Byron also shares information regarding his Uncut series which is also on his YouTube channel…..So, tune in and listen to some stories and a fun conversation with Byron and make sure to follow along with what he is doing over at The Whitetail Experience! Enjoy this fun episode and see you next week! Thanks again for all the support and best of luck out there and Antler Up! On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan talks with Byron Horton about how e-scouting and having a cool wife can both lead to more time in the woods hunting and scouting. The guys kick off the episode by talking about the rollercoaster of life and how adding more kids to the family typically means less time hunting, unless you have a cool wife. The cooler your wife is, the more time you will be spending in the tree stand. Fun conversation! Then, after a ton of BS, Dan and Byron get in to a detailed discussion about e-scouting and what they both look for in a potential hunting setup. The impact of different types of satellite imagery, contour lines, vegetation, and validating your e-scouting by putting boots on the ground are all topics of discussion in this episode. Listen closely and you walk away rom this episode with a ton of great episode. Enjoy! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's nice to get lucky on a big buck ever once in awhile, but we all have to admit that the memories that are burned into our minds are those bucks that we really had to work for. The fellas from The Whitetail Experience seem to have a good grasp on what it means to finally connect on one of these #hardearnedbucks. This week on the show we have Byron Horton from southern Ohio talking about how he has managed to be consistently successful in the big woods on public land in his home state, as well as his recent Kentucky trip where he was able to take home another really great buck. Byron is truly one of our favorite dudes in the game right now and we believe there is a lot we could all learn from him and his hunting style, which is basically something like "work as hard as you can for as long as it takes and eventually it will come together". On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles hunting podcast dan catches up with returning guest Byron Horton about his recent run-n-gun success on Ohio public land. The guys discuss how Byron went about locating this particular piece of public ground, scouting it, and eventually hunting it. He recalls running in to a ton of sign and that kept him from going in deeper than was the originally planned. Just when he thought he had it all figured out, the buck he was chasing came from the complete opposite direction and took him by surprise. With a couple quick adjustments he was able to complete one hell of a run-n-gun hunt.
