Shat the Movies: 80's & 90's Best Film Review

When the royal family is accidentally killed, the heir to the throne proves to be a loutish American named Ralph Jones (John Goodman). Overnight, Ralph goes from sleazy Las Vegas lounge singer to King of England, and it's royal secretary Cedric Willingham's (Peter O'Toole) job to try to civilize him. But it's not easy weaning Ralph off of fast food, and even harder keeping him away from a kindly stripper (Camille Coduri). Meanwhile, the next would-be heir (John Hurt) plots Ralph's demise.  Help Support the Podcast Support with Paypal – http://shatthemovies.com/paypal Support With Venmo – https://venmo.com/ShatPodcasts Shop Amazon With Our Affiliate Link – https://www.amazon.com/?tag=shatmovies-20  Sponsor’s Listener Survey – http://shatthemovies.com/survey Leave an iTunes Review – http://shatthemovies.com/review Vote for our Next Movies – http://shatthemovies.com/vote Subscribe & Social Media – http://shatthemovies.com/subscribe-and-follow Leave a Voicemail – (914) 719-SHAT – (914) 719-7428 Checkout our TV Podcasts – https://shatontv.com/shat-on-podcasts Theme Song – Die Hard by Guyz Nite – https://www.facebook.com/guyznite

@TinDogPodcast revires the superb #DoctorWho 10th Doctor Box Set - Vol 2 from @BigFinish   This title was released in November 2017. It is exclusively available to buy from the BF website only. "10/10 ‘The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Volume Two’ perfectly capturing the settings, senses and tone of the era. For a whole generation of fans this will be an essential buy. Hopefully, the one that drops them into the rabbit hole of Doctor Who on audio."   "David Tennant, Billie Piper, and Camille Coduri bounced off each other so effortlessly that it’s like they’ve never been away."   "More than a decade on, this volume recaptures the wit and the pace of the Tennant/Piper pairing and both seem to slot happily back in their roles."  2.1 Infamy of the Zaross by John Dorney When Jackie Tyler takes an away day to visit her old friend Marge in Norwich, she finds her holiday immediately interrupted in the worst way possible - an alien invasion! The infamous Zaross have come to take over the Earth. Or have they? After Jackie calls in the Doctor and Rose to deal with the menace, it soon becomes clear that this is a very unusual invasion indeed. The Doctor is about to uncover one of the most heinous crimes in the history of the galaxy. And if he can't stop it an awful lot of people are going to die. 2.2 The Sword of the Chevalier by Guy Adams 1791 and the Doctor and Rose get to meet one of the most enigmatic, thrilling and important people in history: The Chevalier d’Eon. She used to be known as a spy, but then she used to be known as a lot of things. If there’s one thing the Doctor knows it’s that identity is what you make it. Choose a life for yourself and be proud. Mind you, if the Consortium of the Obsidian Asp get their way, all lives may soon be over... 2.3 Cold Vengeance by Matt Fitton The TARDIS arrives on Coldstar, a vast freezer satellite, packed with supplies to feed a colony world. But there are cracks in the ice, and something scuttles under the floors. Soon, Rose and the Doctor encounter robots, space pirates and... refuse collectors. As Coldstar's tunnels begin to melt, an even greater threat stirs within. An old enemy of the Doctor puts a plan into action - a plan for retribution. Nobody's vengeance is colder than an Ice Warrior's. Limited to just 5,000 copies and available exclusively from bigfinish.com, this lavish book-sized box set includes exclusive artwork, photography, articles, a one-hour documentary featuring interviews with the stars and production team – alongside a bonus documentary examining the worlds of Doctor Who at Big Finish.   There are interviews with David Tennant and Billie Piper in this . We’ve got a whole lot of ground to cover this week. We open with a brief remembrance of Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin. We discuss Steven Moffat’s recent comments on diversity, and Alasdair wonders whether the world is finally ready for a #WokeMoff hashtag, because this is some good stuff. We also sort through general updates on series 10 filming and the 10th Doctor and Donna’s return at Big Finish, before finally getting into our most anticipated discussion ever, as we look at the generally terrible episodes “Love And Monsters” and “Night Terrors.” We each mount at least a quarter-hearted defense of one of the episodes, and we both agree that Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler is the damn MVP of this week’s selections. She’s great. Everything else? Eh…

GALLY! It's the most wonderful time of the year once again, a glorious three-days-to-a-week where thousands of Doctor Who fans descend on the LAX Marriott in Los Angeles and bathe in glorious nerdery (and also sip a snifter of port on occasion.)  Our annual tradition is to run through the convention schedule before we arrive, glossing over panels that we know nothing about (cosplay, crafts, Buffy fandom and  Gay Agendas) and lionizing panels we think are cool (Steve Roberts, stuff we're moderating, podcasting chinwags, and Steve Roberts.) While we strive to inform and entertain, Gally guests are well advised to check out both the website at www.gallifreyone.com and read their program guide upon arrival, which will soon become your Holy Text as you navigate past Tiki Daleks and Femmy Sixes.  As always, the Three Who Rule will be releasing daily podcasts and interviewing many of the luminaries of new and Classic Who, but we'll also be opening the convention with our live show, "Radio Free Skaro and the World of Tomorrow" on Friday, February 17th. at 12:00 p.m. If you're going to be at #gally, we'd love for you to attend our live show for 90 minutes of fun and frivolity with Camille Coduri, Toby Haynes, Barnaby Edwards, Gary Russell and Simon Fisher-Becker.  Gallifrey is one of the highlights of the year for the Three Who Rule and 2012 promises to be the best Gally yet. See you there!   Checkout the show notes at http://www.radiofreeskaro.com

Gallifrey One, the massive and amazing annual fan-run Doctor Who convention, is rapidly approaching and we take some time to talk to Program Director Shaun Lyon about the recently-released convention schedule and to formally announce details of our live show - Radio Free Skaro And The World Of Tomorrow! As Gallifrey One's official podcast, we'll open the convention and will be joined on stage by actress Camille Coduri, director Toby Haynes, jack-of-all-trades Barnaby Edwards and jack-of-even-more-trades Gary Russell. The Three Who Rule also cast their gaze, commentary-wise, upon Tom MacRae's amazing The Girl Who Waited to see if it stands the test of time. And of course there's the news gnashing. One month to Gally! Check out the show notes at http://www.radiofreeskaro.com
