In 1906, Clara, a 16-year-old orphan at St. Michael Mission in Natal, South Africa, began exhibiting strange behaviors. Initially kind and devout, she started talking to unseen entities, claiming she had made a deal with Satan.Her behavior escalated to tearing at her clothes, growling, and speaking in languages she had never learned. Clara also demonstrated clairvoyance, revealing private information about the nuns and other students.Most alarmingly, she was observed levitating up to five feet in the air. As Clara's condition worsened, displaying inhuman strength and violent outbursts, the church decided to perform an exorcism. Rev. Mansueti and Father Erasmus Horner conducted the ritual over two grueling days in front of 170 witnesses.During the exorcism, Clara exhibited supernatural abilities, including body contortions and snake-like transformations. The demon possessing her claimed to be Satan himself, summoned by Clara's dark purpose. The exorcism concluded with Clara levitating one final time before the demon departed, leaving behind a foul stench.Although Clara initially recovered and seemed to return to normal, signs of possession resurfaced in 1907. Nuns observed her making strange noises and levitating again. Most people are familiar with the movie “The Exorcism” and perhaps you are familiar with the story that inspired the movie itself. But the story of Clara Germana Cele has been seemingly forgotten in the over 100 years since it happened. This story also played quite the role in The “Exorcist” movie. Clara was born in South Africa  1890, and we don't know much about her life before she reached the age of 16.  What is tragic, and puzzling, was what happened on her 16th birthday. According to members of the clergy at St. Michael's Mission in Natal, the girl, known as Germana, sold her soul to the devil, and he immediately possessed her body and began causing havoc.

Anna Ecklund Anna Ecklund, also known as Emma Schmidt according to official Vatican records, was a devout Catholic girl living in Wisconsin in 1882. Although very little is known about her early life, for most of her childhood she was considered to be like any other girls her own age. However once she turned 8 years, a steady and noticeable change began to emerge in her personality. Despite growing up a devout Catholic, she suddenly showed signs of aversion to the church and pretty much anything religious or holy. 4. Clara Germana Cele While serving in the Marianhill Mission School of South Africa in 1906, Father Erasmus Horner heard a strange confession from a young, 16-year old girl who told him that she had made a pact with the devil. The priest inquired with the nuns at the school who said that it was Clara Germana Cele, a young orphaned girl who seemed ordinary but sometimes unpredictable. She had been there since she was the age of four, her parents tragically died while she just a baby. 3. Father Marian Rajchel It's one thing to be possessed and perform an exorcism, but to be haunted by demons because you failed the exorcism is a whole other horror. That's what Father Marian Rajchel is suffering through right now. The Polish priest carried out an exorcism in the city of Jaroslaw locate to the south east of Poland. However, he didn't succeed and Soon after he performed the exorcism, he started receiving harassing messages through text messages. Some of it read:“She will not come out of this hell. She’s mine. Anyone who prays for her will die.” 2. Julia A recent case of possession that happened in 2008, this is The case of a patient named "Julia". It’s especially unique because it was chronicled by a leading associate professor of psychiatry, Dr. Richard E. Gallagher from New York Medical College and published in an issue of the New Oxford Review. Even though medical professionals rarely diagnose a patient with demonic possession, Dr. Gallagher did just that. After examining a patient he calls "Julia," he discovered no know mental illness in her whatsoever. However, the symptoms that she exhibited were extremely troubling. 1. Pat Reading The case of Pat Reading is one of the most terrifying and baffling accounts of demonic possession ever recorded. What makes it so different is that unlike most sufferers, Pat was an ordinary woman without religious affiliation. She was a mother and lived a quiet life in Litchfield, Connecticut in the 1980s. She did not do drugs or drink alcohol and had no history with the occult or any Satanic association at all. Despite this however, she was attacked continuously, first experiencing various strange incidents inside her home. She often felt as if she was being followed inside and would hear loud bangs all around the house. Eventually things began to grow violent.
