It's Opposite Day With Rob Lewin!!! This episode is very exciting because it is opposite day with Rob Lewin! Rob is an improviser and sketch comedian living in Guelph, Ontario. His live comedy credits include The Second CityToronto FamCo,The Making-Box Brigade, The Bad Dog Featured Players and festivals such as Toronto Sketchfest, Detroit Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon NYC, and Montreal Improv Festival. He teaches improv and sketch classes with Pinch and you see his sketch duo Corpse perform around Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo. Unlike every other (wonderful) Comedicine guest, who is a health care professional first and then transitions into comedy, Rob has been improvising since before his brain was fully formed. (Grade 9!) Rob is currently in his second year of the Practical Nursing program at Conestoga College. Yes, he is going to keep on doing improv, sketch and teaching improv AND doing nursing, but not at the same time. Would it be cool to teach nurses about improv with his background? Maybe it would, but that's not what Rob is doing here people! Have a listen, Rob is a wonderful improviser, comedian and human and he whoever ends up with him as their nurse and/or in his audience and/orin his improv class is very lucky!!!Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/rob.lewin/Thanks for listening to Comedicine! Happy new year to all the wrestling maniacs around the world. 2020 was a rough one, & we hope you are all happy, healthy, & safely enjoying some pro wrestling. We have a lot of big plans for the Podcast in 2021, but before that we want to try and pay tribute to an amazing pro wrestler, & person who passed away late last year, Mr. Johnathan Huber aka Brodie Lee, aka Luke Harper. In 2019, Mr. Huber traveled a long way to support our art community by performing at the Detroit Improv Festival. He was funny, humble and kind to so many people at this event. So for this episode, Bob, Jake and Alex discuss Luke Harper, the Wyatt Family, and one of the top 5 best 3-on-3 matches in the past decade from Elimination Chamber 2014. We also play/invent Bad Box of Gimmicks that we hope to play live someday soon! Rest in Peace Mr. Huber, thank you for the memories and we wish we could have seen more.
Eugene Cordero (Kong: Skull Island) joins Andrew and Tawny live from the 2018 Detroit Improv Festival to talk about middle school kids calling each other the n-word in a friendly way, getting “mild sauce” from Taco Bell without asking for it, and more. Plus, Paul F. Tompkins, Marc Evan Jackson, and Jessica Gao come onstage for a game of “Uncomfortably Fast Advice.” As always, leave us a message about anything you think is racist at (323) 389-RACE.
Today, we're chatting with one of our neighbors! Pj Jacokes is an actor/writer/director & co-founder of GO! Comedy Improv Theater! We talk about how to be funny on the fly, how to sustain a small business for 12+ years, what it's like being an improv artist in a pandemic, and also, we talk about GO!'s long-running Detroit Improv Festival...., which...., sadly, is canceled this year. But, if you want to find out more, click here: https://www.gocomedy.net/

Cellarmen's in Hazel Park, Michigan was the womb that birthed The TRUTH. Before becoming the best podcast covering the stories *they* don't want you to know, the T.R.U.T.H. was a monthly live meeting. Unfortunately, Cellarmen's announced they will be shutting down at the end of July 2019, so Thomas and Dickie decided to throw one final extravaganza, breaking from their normal format to invite many of their favorite HEROES on stage to say goodbye. Artwork by Mark Rudolph - http://www.markrudolph.com/ Mark has done the art work for the Cellarmen's Comedy Night, and coincidentally art for Matt Naas' shows! Thomas, Dickie, Alex Bozinovic, and Mike Bobbitt will never be able to thank the guys behind Cellarmen's enough for giving them a home and their total support. Support this podcast

Keegan-Michael Key, co-star of Comedy Central's Key & Peele, sat down with Jimmy at the 2012 Detroit Improv Festival in August and discussed his days growing up in Detroit, his transformation from classical theater to improv, and how his fellow theater majors gave him grief for being in a college fraternity. Do not miss this candid interview and fantastic improv set with Keegan-Michael Key.
