Some of us knew of her wit and great writing even before she started writing comics, reading her column "You All Be Sorry!" on Comic Book Resources, but we couldn't even imagine how good she really was until she started working for Bongo Comics, and then writing Deadpool for Marvel. But she EXPLODED into our collective imaginations when she moved to DC to create the definitive run on BIRDS OF PREY. Her time on Batgirl is also beloved by the fans. She's also created creator-owned books like Welcome to Tranquility and she's come back to Marvel with books like Domino and its sequel Domino: Hotshots. I am talking, of course, about the amaaaaaaazing GAIL SIMONE! We've talked about life, the language of comics and what's unique about it, the craft, art, science music, movies, tv... and everything else we could think of! Is it the 90’s again? Spotlight on Marvel Comics – Domino: Hotshots #1 (2019)!

Jace takes a look at three X-Men titles. We see what it means to be imprisoned in the world of the Age of X-Man as Bishop enters a high security facility designed to rehabilitate repeat offenders who won't follow the fascist policies of the world X-Man has created. What do the flashbacks Bishop is having that feel like memories really mean? What about the feelings that he knows some of these fellow prisoners even though he has never met them? All this and some characters that will be familiar to X-fans, like Dani Moonstar, Beast and Polaris! In the first issue of Domino Hotshots Gail Simone and David Baldeon throw in some super spy James Bond vibes, classic super heroines who kick butt and wonderful character interactions, then they shake it all up and what comes out is a fast-paced and fun comic. Finally, in Uncanny X-Men #13, Matthew Rosenberg, Salvador Larocca and company are developing an instant classic. The book excels in the same way the classic era of Clarment and Byrne did, with spectacular art that serves to enhance a story built on characters and their relationships to each other. Rosenberg's love and passion for the X-Men shines through with every bit of dialogue as does Larocca's with each panel.
