Born and raised in Arkansas, Evan grew up playing drums at his dads church in Fort Smith. He was the kid that would sit behind the drummer during church and soak in every detail and nuance. Once church let out, he'd jump up on the kit and play, until the next church service started a few hours later. Evan got his first drum set at the age of 8 and began serenading his whole family and neighborhood with punk rock beats and the sounds of the radio. After touring the country with his band The Exception, Evan decided it was time to move to Nashville, TN and attend Middle Tennessee State under the direction of Lalo Davila and Tom Giampietro. It was in college where Evan honed his craft and wanted to become a studio musician. Years later and having played on multiple #1 songs on the radio, Evan is now an in demand studio drummer. You can hear his drumming with , Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Jimmie Allen, Ronnie Dunn, Keith Urban, Steven Tyler, Toby Keith, Matt Stell, Maddie and Tae, Tim McGraw, Lauren Alaina, Erin McCarley, Rascal Flatts and many other artists. Dr. Greg Boyd is back! In this episode we take another look at alternate theories of Hell, in particular, Annihilationsm. Can we adopt a different, less violent version of Hell while still maintaining a scriptural view of the bible? Find out in part two of our two episode series on alternate ideas of Hell! Greg Boyd is an internationally recognized theologian, preacher, teacher, apologist and author. He has been featured on the front page of The New York Times, The Charlie Rose Show, CNN, National Public Radio, the BBC and numerous other television and radio venues. Greg received his Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary (summa cum laude 1988), his M.Div. from Yale Divinity School (cum laude 1982), and his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota (1979). He was a professor of theology for 16 years at Bethel University (St. Paul, MN) where he received the Teaching Excellence Award and Campus Leadership Award. Greg is the co-founder of Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul, Minnesota where he serves as Senior Pastor, speaking to thousands each week. Greg has authored or co-authored 20 books and numerous academic articles, including his best-selling and award-winning Letters From a Skeptic and his recent books Repenting of Religion and The Myth of a Christian Nation. His apologetic writings and public debates on the historical Jesus and the problem of evil have helped many skeptics embrace faith, and his writings and seminars on spiritual transformation have had a revolutionary, freeing impact on thousands of believers. Greg passionately believes that faith and reason are not mutually exclusive, but that the mind and heart were made for congruity. He boldly defends a Christian faith that embraces science, rejects religion, transcends politics and nationalism, and that calls for a radical, socially engaged form of discipleship defined by the self-sacrificial love of the Cross. A native Oklahoman, Erin McCarley is a filmmaker, photographer and sociologist with a driving passion for creating social documentary. A cum laude sociology graduate from the University of Oregon, McCarley worked as a bilingual (English/Spanish) social worker for several years before turning to media production. McCarley’s latest project is "Red Earth Rising", a feature documentary exploring Oklahoma’s colonial history, its Wild West mythology, and the oft-buried voices of American Indians who survived the historical trauma and transition from Indian Territory to Oklahoma statehood. Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, Juan Manuel Diaz (DP, producer, editor) was whisked away at an early age to the United States where he grew up in Dallas, Texas. Now an editor, cinematographer, and post-production supervisor, Diaz is UT Austin’s College of Engineering Video Producer. Meanwhile, he has worked on several notable Austin film/video projects including the critically acclaimed independent feature The Slow Business of Going (Dir: Athina Rachel Tsangari), Hansel Mieth: Vagabond Photographer (Dir: Nancy Schiesari), and Austin Past and Present: An Interactive History (Dir: Karen Kocher). Diaz brings a mature set of technical skills and relentless perfectionism to the production of Red Earth Rising. http://muscogeetrail.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Muscogee-Trail-Mvskoke-En-Nenoce/183497074994981?v=wall https://twitter.com/MvskokeEnNenoce# (http://muscogeetrail.com/contact
