It feels like every time we talk about multiage working relationships, the same tired themes arise: who's better at technology, who prefers in-person work to remote, who's biased. But that can't be the whole picture; interage collaboration — and the two-way mentorship that comes with it — can create a thriving collaboration. Lindsay and Carolyn chat with ageism researcher and speaker Ashton Applewhite, author of This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism to get to the bottom of what people get wrong about matters of age. And then they're joined by a pair of leaders whose intergenerational collaboration has been great for business: designer Diane von Furstenburg and DVF President and Chief Executive Gabby Hirata. Missing Persons Alert: Gabby PetitoThis is an urgent Missing Persons alert mini episode about the case of 22 year old Gabby Petito who vanished while traveling cross-county. The case spans multiple police jurisdictions from all over the country including Florida, New York, Wyoming, and Utah. Gabby, along with her boyfriend, traveled across the country in their distinct travel van. Her boyfriend and their van showed up in North Port, Florida on the weekend of 9/11/21, but Gabby was nowhere to be found. After we published this episode, Gabby's family supplied us with this statement:"The Schmidt and Petito family are going through the worst moments of their lives. Their beautiful twenty-two year old daughter is missing and the one person that can help find Gabby refuses to help. Brian Laundrie was traveling with Gabby in the Grand Teton – Yellowstone area. They were traveling together in Gabby's 2012 Ford Transit van. That is where we believe Gabby was last seen.Brian is refusing to tell Gabby's family where he last saw her. Brian is also refusing to explain why he left Gabby all alone and drove her van to Florida. These are critical questions that require immediate answers. The Schmidt and Petito family beg the Laundrie family to not “remain in the background” but to help find who Brian referred to as the love of his life. How does Brian stay in the background when he is the one person that knows where Gabby is located? The Schmidt and Petito family implore Brian to come forward and at least tell us if we are looking in the right area."If you have information about Gabby's case, please call the Suffolk County police crime stoppers at 800-220-8477 or the FBI at 800-CALLFBI To learn more about Gabby's case, visit the Facebook page set up by her family at: https://www.facebook.com/Find-Gabby-110214491405003/To contribute to the Gofundme page organized on behalf of Gabby's family, visit:https://gofund.me/d7a934a3If you'd like to support this podcast via a donation, you can do so through Patreon here-https://www.patreon.com/MissingPodcastTo contact the podcast or learn more about the cases we discuss visit:Missingpersonspodcast.netFollow us on Social media-Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Missing-Persons-Podcast-103501877912153orTwitter:https://twitter.com/Missing_Pod
This entire episode is an absolute roller coaster of a journey from start to end. Frank and Teri first met back when she was still living in NZ, a place that is far from progressive in terms of a lot of the population not accepting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and them being the target of bullying in person and online.Coming out and being the person you truly are is hard enough, let alone when you face the fear of your own Christian family not accepting you and you're living in a country that your community is regularly discriminated against. Frank, AKA Gabrielle Stone tells the story of how this all happened for him, from hiding this from Teri when they lived together and they relive the moment they saw each other when Gabby was dressed in drag and they reunited for the first time in years in none other than... you guessed it Revs Smokers. There is so much more to the art of being a Drag Queen than meets the eye and Gabby breaks down the stereotypes and also the misconceptions about what being a drag queen means to him.It would be off-brand if we didn't throw in a few good sex stories and also some blow job tips, humming on a dick, say what?In the end, the pair bond over something that they had no idea they had both gone through and get a bit deep about the emotions they felt when they realised they lived through the same traumatic experience.Find Gabby on Insta HERE.Find Fair Bit Going On on Insta HERE.Find Teri on Insta HERE.
