After the rug was vigorously pulled out from under her when her husband's affair came to light, she found herself falling into the arms of another man. And so came the birth of the book Eat, Pray, #FML, where she shared all the mistakes, all the lessons, and most importantly, how she became a fearless leader from it all. When fans around the world demanded more, the highly anticipated sequel, The Ridiculous Misadventures of a Single Girl, and the podcast FML Talk were born—and Gabrielle soon realized that her broken heart had bloomed a movement. In this potent episode, you'll hear: An excerpt from one of Gabrielle's book and a conversation around the personal growth journey she went on while writing all of them [5:15] The different processes she uses to help women navigate their own self-discovery and healing journeys, plus some of the specific tools in her book that can help support you in this [9:29] Why she now considers the past traumas in her as beautiful gifts [11:19] The moment Gabrielle says she came through on the other side of her healing journey and gain beautiful insight on her patterns [19:40] What she wants to share most about what she is going though now as a new mom and the lessons she's pulling from her marriage [23:25] Her thoughts on the afterlife and something that puts our time here in the physical realm into perspective [31:29] This gorgeous conversation with Gabrielle dives deep into personal growth, and I appreciate her for sharing her personal story on overcoming life's challenges through introspection and resilience. How to Split a Toaster: A divorce podcast about saving your relationships
How do you heal after living through the trauma of divorce? How do you help your kids heal when they live through their own experience of your trauma? Whether you consider yours an easy divorce, or a hard one, the act of separating lives is traumatic, and the impact of trauma can sneak up on you. As we wrap up this season of the show, we want to take some time to talk about that healing process and we have the perfect guest to help us do that. Dee Wallace is an actor and a healer, and she's spent the last twenty years of her career in channeled healing work. She is an advocate and teacher in the art of self-creation and the author of five books on the subject. She's also been divorced more than once and knows a thing or two about healing through trauma herself. As an actor, you might have seen one of her more than 260 credits including E.T., Cujo, The Howling, and on, and on, and on. What's more, her most important role is as “Mom” to Toaster alum Gabrielle Stone, who taught us all about her divorce experience in Eat, Pray, #FML.Dee's career and relationship stories make for an incredible conversation and we're deeply grateful for her time, participation, and joy in the Toaster this week. We're setting up for a short break as we head into the holiday season and will be replaying a few of our favorite episodes over the next month or so, but we'll be back with new episodes in February. We're grateful for this community, and all of you out there working to save your most important relationships. On behalf of all of us on Team Toaster — Seth, Pete, Andy, Melissa, Ken, and Karolynn — we wish you a happy holiday season full of peace, love, and joy. My loves, you are NOT ready for all the wisdom that is about to drop on this episode of UFYR. Please welcome Gabrielle Stone onto the podcast! If you aren't familiar, Gabrielle Stone is no stranger to the world of entertainment. Growing up on set with her legendary scream queen mother, Dee Wallace, from Cujo and E. T., she had days of licking off Mommy's fake blood and watching movie magic unfold behind the scenes. Seeing the world with Mom and Dad gave her the travel bug at an early age…until Gabrielle experienced a real-life horror when she lost her father suddenly at age seven. After many years of working in the industry herself, Stone transitioned from meaty acting roles to writing and directing. Her award-winning films It Happened Again Last Night and After Emma gained her awards for writing, directing, and acting, but she had a bigger role in life that would soon present itself. After the rug was vigorously pulled out from under her when her husband's affair came to light, she found herself falling into the arms of another man. After a second failed attempt at love and a massive heartbreak, she decided that instead of falling landing flat on her ass, she'd make a career out of it. And so came the birth of her book, Eat, Pray, FML, where she shared all the mistakes she made, all the lessons she learned, and most importantly, how she became a fearless leader from it all. Long story short? Gabrielle Stone's a fucking badass, and she has so much wisdom to share that I couldn't NOT have her come on the show. Let's jump right in. Sherry introduces her pup Mocha to the show, and Carla reminisces about the days that feral cats tore up her home. They then take a Love Fix question from a listener who is new to dating, has anxious attachment and can't seem to console themselves. Then we met Gabrielle Stone, a familiar face in the entertainment industry, having grown up alongside the iconic scream queen, Dee Wallace. Gabrielle's childhood was steeped in the enchantment of showbiz, from playful days of faux-blood tasting to witnessing cinematic enchantment behind the scenes. Her early exposure to globetrotting with her parents fueled her wanderlust. Yet, life took a chilling turn when her father's sudden demise shattered her world at age seven. Later, a tumultuous journey unfolded as she weathered her husband's affair and sought solace in another man's arms, only to confront another heartbreak. Determined not to let life flatten her, she transformed her tribulations into a thriving career. I can totally tell when someone is talking to talk but hasn't walked the walk. Gabrielle Stone is the real thing. She's fucking hysterical, totally gorgeous (even though I totally get she feels like a whale so far along in her pregnancy-been there xox) AND this woman has done the work and continues to. She's a delicious blend of grounded practical reality meets woo woo and magic. And I'm completely convinced she's married to such a great man because he's an external reflection of her internal healthy intimate relationship with herself. In this exquisite conversation we also discussed... How, after her first book Eat, Pray, #FML, her readers demanded more even though she was still a work in progress writing the sequel, The Ridiculous Misadventures of a Single Girl. How the wound of finding her father dead at age 7 created the belief, When I love someone, they die... and how she healed that wound, found wholeness and attracted healthy love How finding out about her ex-husband's affair and then falling for another man who abandoned her, invited her to turn devastation into Divine empowerment... and that you can too. --------------------------------- p.s. Gabrielle is a woman wearing many hats: author, actress, dancer, and director. But more notably, you might know her from her viral TikTok where she recalls the many traumas she's been (dancing) through, from her father's sudden death, to her divorce, and her “Eat, Pray, Love”-esque journey. In this episode there's no dancing involved, but she tells her whole life story from the heartbreaks to the healing process, as well as how she manages to keep her heart open despite everything she's been through.00:00:00 00:01:21 Introducing Gabrielle 00:01:51 Gabrielle's Fucked Up Netflix Story 00:05:04 Finding Trust Instead of Wallowing 00:07:36 The Greater Heartbreak 00:09:27 Eat, Pray… FML? 00:15:06 Patterns in Attraction and Teaching Moments 00:20:32 Relinquishing Fear 00:25:08 “Healing” and Being “Whole” 00:33:54 The Tortured Artist 00:38:48 The Role of Forgiveness 00:50:57 Self-Acceptance in Pregnancy and Body Love 01:02:33Where to Find GabrielleA Fucked-Up Netflix StoryGabrielle's story is one you might only find on a Netflix show. At a young age, she witnessed her father's death. At eighteen, she lost her high school sweetheart to a car accident. During her two-year marriage, her now ex-husband had an affair with a 19-year old for six months, and the man she dated after that left her just a few days before their trip to Europe. Devastated and alone, she decided to push through with the trip by herself that eventually turned into a self-love healing journey that would change her life and get her a best-selling book. Her Healing JourneyDespite everything she's been through, Gabrielle credits her mom for being a role model in her healing amidst the trauma in her life. Even with the fear of abandonment, she was left with two options: eventually she can either choose victimhood and let the tragedy define her, or use it as a springboard to grow, learn, and become a better human being. At the end of the day, what was wallowing all day going to do for her? She knew at that moment that whatever the trip was going to bring was going to be a huge healing journey for her, thus her healing journey began and paved the way for good things to come to her lifeThe Road to ForgivenessGabrielle believes that you don't have to forgive anyone if you don't want to, but she believes that not forgiving someone only hurts you more. When you're going around with a certain type of energy, you're going to attract that energy into your life. You don't forgive people for them—doesn't matter if they deserve it or how long it's been, but you forgive people because you want to elevate yourself and vibrate on a higher level to attract and manifest good things in your life.Links and ResourcesInstagramTikTokAmazon: "Eat, Pray, #FML"Amazon: "Fuck Off, I'm Healing"EatPrayFML.comApple Podcast: FML TalkMeta-DescriptionAuthor, actress, dancer, and director Gabrielle Stone spills the tea on her life story that got her viral on TikTok and her journey towards self-healing and self love.Support the show

I am joined by Gabrielle Stone the author of Eat, Pray, #FML a hilarious, heartbreaking and thought provoking book about Gabrielle's adventure of self-discovery. We talked about how she found her husband cheated on her with a 19 year old!!! and how she fell madly in love soon after filing for divorce to have him decide he didn't want to go on their month long trip to Europe. So, she had a choice- stay at home in her Mom's home and be really sad and depressed or take the biggest leap of faith on herself and go to Europe ALONE! And that is where self-discovery, self- awareness and standing in her truth began. I loved this book, and found her Thought Onion a wonderful way to describe and think through so many of of the difficult/ uncomfortable feelings she had to face and experience.

A year and a half into marriage, Gabrielle found out her husband had been having an affair with a nineteen-year-old for six months. She then filed for divorce and left. Two weeks later met a man, and fell madly in love. This fairy-tale romance lasted for a month and a half before he convinced Gabrielle to join him on a month long vacation in Italy. But 48 hours before, he told her he needed to go alone. Left heartbroken and devastated, Gabrielle made the decision to go to Europe on her own, journal it, and ended up writing a bestseller “Eat, Pray, #FML”. We chatted with author, and award-winning actress, writer, and director, Gabrielle Stone, about how she took a massive heartbreak and turned it into a best-selling book, podcast, and movement. We talked about the transformation after divorce, traveling alone through the world, her journey writing Eat, Pray, #FML, and how she healed herself through creativity, wisdom, and empowering others. It's a gorgeous, honest, and vulnerable conversation about turning heartbreak into humor, and everything in between. Gabrielle Stone is no stranger to the world of entertainment and the idea of a fresh start in life. Growing up on set with her legendary scream-queen mother, Dee Wallace, she had days of licking off mommy's fake blood and watching behind the scenes movie magic. Seeing the world with mom and dad gave her the travel bug at an early age—until Gabrielle experienced a real-life horror when she lost her father suddenly at age seven. After many years in the industry herself, Stone transitioned from meaty acting roles to writing and directing. Her award-winning films It Happened Again Last Night and After Emma gained her awards for writing, directing, and acting—but she had a bigger role in life that would soon present itself: freaking badass. After the rug was vigorously pulled out from under her when her husband's affair came to light, she found herself falling into the arms of another man. After a second failed attempt at love and a massive heartbreak, she decided that instead of landing flat on her ass—she'd make a career out of it. You know that saying, “turn your mess into your message?” Today's guest took that literally and turned a series of unfortunate events (a cheating husband, divorce, and then epic heartbreak when her next whirlwind romance dumped her right before a romantic month-long trip to Europe)... into a solo international trip and best-selling book, Eat Pray #FML. Gabrielle Stone is no stranger to the spotlight, growing up with her legendary scream-queen mom, Dee Wallace (best known for playing Mary Taylor, the mom in Spielberg's blockbuster film, E.T.) Gabrielle herself spent many years in the industry as well, acting, writing and directing.Writing a nonfiction book about her own life though, was a foreign frontier. In today's case study, Gabrielle walks us through her exact viral TikTok strategy (where she started with zero followers) that allowed her to reach more than 100M people and sell hundreds of thousands of copies of her self-published book. She also shares her hot take on why self-publishing is infinitely more lucrative for authors. Even if you're not an author, you'll want to borrow Gabrielle's smart approach to short-form video content to create a legion of raving fans and sell more of your product, service or offer.Thank you to our sponsors:Ready to do more with your iPad? The highly requested and always vulnerable Gabrielle Stone joins Kaitlyn on the pod today to talk all about her journey from divorce and heartbreak to healing her trauma and becoming her best self. Gabrielle walks Kaitlyn and the Vinos through her story of how she went from a breakup to a new relationship to traveling Europe solo for a month, and the cocktail of coping mechanisms and healing tactics she relied on to get to where she is today. So many have related to her story from her podcast and both of her books and it's definitely clear why as she opens up about her experiences and shares never-before-spilled tea with KB about her love life.
