In unserer August-Folge widmen wir uns einem literarischen Tier und einem ganz besonderen Genre: dem Katzenkrimi. Wir haben den Autor Fabian Navarro im Wiener Café Aera zum Gespräch getroffen und mit ihm über seinen Debütroman “Miez Marple und die Kralle des Bösen” (Goldmann 2022) gesprochen. Darin macht sich die Katzendetektivin Miez Marple, die eigentlich nur mehr ein gemächlich-gemütliches Leben als Wohnungskatze führen will, nochmal an die Arbeit, denn ihr ehemaliger Assistent Kater Watson stößt bei Ermittlungen gegen die Betreiber eines Katzengras-Onlineshops auf ein fellsträubendes Verbrechen und wird schließlich sogar als Verdächtiger im Mordfall des Berufs-Youtubers Schnurrjenko von der Polizei festgehalten. Es geht u. a. um einen Katzengrasbaron, eine Festplatte mit 1500 Stunden unveröffentlichtem Katzenvideo-Material und ganz grundsätzlich auch darum, dass die Stadt vor die Hunde zu gehen droht. Höchste Zeit, dass Miez Marple sich einschaltet! Fabian hat im Gespräch mit Victoria und Irene über seine Beweggründe, einen antifaschistischen Katzenkrimi zu schreiben, berichtet, vom Wunsch, die Trennung zwischen E- und U-Literatur aufzuheben, vom Poetry Slam, digitaler Literatur und vielem anderen mehr. Außerdem wirft Veronika in einer Einspielung einen literaturwissenschaftlichen Blick auf den Tierkrimi im Allgemeinen, spürt literarischen Hunden und Katzen nach und ermittelt ein paar Besonderheiten des Genres.
