Coflo brings a true dancer's touch to house music. As a life long student of the American style of house dance and the Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira; Coflo looks to infuse his dance and movement experience into his musical productions. A true house head; he hopes to honor the beautiful culture and community that raised him in his home of the Bay Area in California, USA. In 2018 Coflo joined the American house music beacon Ocha Records as head of A&R and Label Manager for artist and owner Carlos “Casamena” Mena. It was at this time Coflo also began releasing as a staple artist on the Ocha talent roster. Originals and remixes spread quickly through DJs and collectors internationally with his breakout single “Stress Relief (Don't fuck with me right now)” remixed by house music legend Osunlade. Coflo's musical ideas caught the ears of Osunlade; bringing him to Yoruba Records initially as a remix artist and mastering engineer. In 2021, Coflo joined the official artist ranks on Yoruba Records with his debut collaboration “Soul 2 Souls” with SACRED H3ART. 2022 for Coflo was all about "Peanut Butter Lover," a track that stuck in clubs like, you guessed it, peanut butter! It's Coflo's signature: fun and honest in club music with an irresistible groove, earning love from DJ legends like Anané, Osunlade, and Louie Vega.Coflo's 2023 has been epic, remixing Ron Trent's "Black Magic Woman" for the fresh label "Sacred Medicine” crafted by the American house music pioneers Joe Claussell and Ron Trent. With a decade of hits across famous labels like T's Box, Local Talk and Atjazz Record Company, he's not just a studio wizard; he's a DJ booth hero, known for his energetic beats and eclectic style. Your chance to recover from the weekend and kickoff things smoothly and with tons of soul this week! Buddynice, or Nkosinathi Phakathi with his real name, was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. He is one of South Africa's fastest-rising electronic music acts these days. It was during high school when he learned to make music, first on his cell phone and later with commonly used software and analog equipment. In 2017, after his education, he started following the dream of being a music producer and DJ. After submitting a sample of his work to The Godfathers Of Deep House South Africa, Masia Mashapa (founder of the infamous South African deep house collective) was impressed enough to convince him to join the movement. Productions like "Calling EmoBoys", "The Clip", "Runner" or "Assassins Creed" and many more followed. Buddynice soon started his own imprint Redemial Sounds and continued his career with well regarded releases on Stay True Sounds, House Africa & Atjazz Record Company as well as on his own label. Currently, Buddynice is working on his debut Album "Rise", coming up later in 2022. As big fans of the South African electronic scene, we're extremely happy to feature another RSA talent with an amazingly beautiful mix on our channel! This episode of the Mucho Soul Show pays tribute to Paul Trouble Anderson who passed away on Sunday Dec 2nd. It's a replay of our opening Poolside Party Set at The Southern Soul Festival recorded back in late June in Montengro. It's also the last time we partied and played alongside Paul. We'd been travelling most of the day by plane and then mini bus with P.T.A alongside Phil Asher, Jake Holloway, Dom Servini The Mighty Zaf and a few others and had arrived late into the night but just in time to play our opening launch party set. It had been a very long day and we really didn't expect Paul to get there but somehow he found more Trouble energy and amazingly made the party and then proceeded to hold court in typical PTA style by dancing, joking and partying with everyone present. I think we played our set with Paul in mind that night with many Jazz Funk, Boogie and Trouble favs from back in the day mixed with some Soulful and Latin House and even a bit of Luther (track 4)... one of Troubles fav singers. Paul danced all night!... and that memory is one we'll always cherish now. This ones for you Paul. Mucho Soul & Love. Well, here is a new mix from me: something compiled, executed and delivered, just because... Since we kicked off our Attic project last year; the vast majority of my DJ'ing has been centred around a housier, disco-centric sound—for which Attic is known—for both, our own events and other ad hoc DJ bookings in around town. Of course, we love our Attic sound, however; during this last little while—somewhat regrettably—I've not had much of an opportunity to sit back and relish in some other musical guilty pleasures. This particular line-up of deeper, melodic selections has allowed me to do just that. This is a very much an indulgent mix—let's make no mistake about that. Within, you'll hear some newer pieces; you'll hear some that I had stashed away for such an opportunity. Each track has moved me or has made me feel something. It's melodic, it's moody and if I've done my job correctly; you'll be taken on a journey for next 80 minutes or so.
