Bowden hired several former Clemson staffers including Zac Alley, Maverick Morris, Roderick McDowell, and a blast from the past in defensive line coach Ron "Big Daddy" West. In addition, former Clemson offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez is running the offense for Bowden. Brewer reflects on his recruitment to Clemson, and a revelation Dabo Swinney shared with him only a couple years ago: When Brewer called to commit to Clemson, there was strong disagreement between Swinney (who offered Brewer) and the defensive staff led by Vic Koenning. The defensive staff wanted to rescind the offer for another player. Tommy Bowden ended up ruling in Swinney's favor, and Clemson accepted the commitment. Brewer ended up starting 34 career game and playing in 53. Brewer shares the life lessons he learned after going through a tumultuous and unforgettable summer of 2020 with Clemson's football program, and how hard it was for a team to go through a season filled with COVID protocols and disruptions to the normal way of life. Brewer's job on Clemson's staff was advance scouting of opponents, and he shares his thoughts on Ohio State's 49-point barrage in the Sugar Bowl and how it happened. Brewer also reflects on what it's like to coach defense in the days of supersonic offenses flush with elite talent and rules that favor moving the ball and scoring points.

Daniel has policies for its Hall of Fame inductions and doesn't typically retire jerseys, but Williams said he and his three former teammates strongly believe something more can be done to honor their achievements. Williams also shares personal details of how hard it has been to go through the emotional rollercoaster of being cut by NFL teams time and again. When he spent a year away from football awaiting calls from teams, he worked as an Amazon delivery driver in Denver and he believes that was a big part of his ascent to a starting role for the Broncos this past season.

McIntyre also details a remarkable life story of growing up early, helping raise his younger brother when he was in elementary school, and dealing with the devastation of losing his stepfather when he was a senior in high school. Terrell's mother gave birth to him when she was 15, but she was the rock in his life and always had high standards for him. McIntyre remembers being in Clemson not very long as a freshman and deciding he was quitting the team. After he arrived home in Raeford, N.C., his mother told him: "Go ahead and get to bed. At 7:30 tomorrow morning you're going to be on the road back to Clemson." McIntyre also shares stories of how Larry Shyatt and Rick Barnes recruited him to Clemson and secured his signing without him having ever stepped foot onto campus. He recalls the hurt feelings that came when Barnes left for Texas, and the despair he felt when the NBA Draft came and went without his name being called. McIntyre had an illustrious 12-year basketball career in Europe before returning to Clemson to complete his degree in 2015.

One of Swinney's first decisions upon getting the head-coaching job was putting Jeff Davis in full charge of preparing his players for the real world.  J.D. recalls the day in 2003 when he first met Swinney. The Swinney family was building a house next door to the Davises, and in walked Will and Drew Swinney. "We've been best friends ever since," J.D. says. Episode 20: Eric Mac Lain | Former Clemson University All-ACC Offensive Lineman Subscribe on  Stitcher (http://bit.ly/2qnGiRP) Rich Take On Sports Show Notes: Rich Spotlight: Eric Mac Lain Life has been a whirlwind for him lately with a new job with JMI Sports, moved to Greenville, SC and was recently married on June 24th Started playing soccer but Basketball was his first love and dreamed of playing in the NBA and his dad didn’t want him and his brother to play football Started out as a Tight End but continued to play basketball throughout high school and it was the summer basketball camps that he went to each summer, not football Eric went to a football camp at the University of Tennessee and met Coach Dan Brooks at the camp. Head Coach Phillip Fulmer offered him a scholarship during camp His mom didn’t understand the magnitude of the offer but his dad did and wanted them to turn around and tell Coach Fulmer thank you The offer remained very quiet however Coach Fulmer was fired and that led to Eric not knowing exactly his status at Tennessee Coach Brooks was now at Clemson University and wanted Eric and his family to visit Clemson on their way home during Spring Break Eric didn’t even know if Clemson was a Division I school Everything lined up for a perfect visit to Clemson and he fell in love with staff and campus Entered as a Tight End and the speed of the game was big adjustment so he red-shirted He eventually made the move the Offensive Line after the Tigers sustained multiple injuries on the line in a game versus NC State During his Senior season, he was selected Pre-Season First-Team All-ACC by the media and coaches and he’s convinced that it was because the media enjoyed his interviews Knew he gave everything he had in the National Championship game versus Alabama and was sad that the team lost but even harder for him was the fact that it was the last time he would wear a Clemson football uniform Unfortunately, things with the NFL did not work out but it was easy for him to stop playing because he wasn’t defined by being a football player Eric firmly believed that he is a son of God and therefore that’s how he’s defined and this allowed him to stop playing and not have any issues because he was no longer a football player Words of Wisdom from Eric: “No matter who you’re talking to, no matter where you are; always treat it and handle it like it’s an interview.” Social Media: To Follow Eric Mac Lain on Twitter:  @Mr_Clemson (https://twitter.com/Mr_Clemson) Find JMI Sports Information:  JMI Sports (http://www.jmisports.com/) To Follow Rich Take On Sports on Twitter:  @richtakesports (https://twitter.com/richtakesports)
