A school administrator and massage therapist wants guidance on how to respond to a student who is reluctant to work with clinic clients who report a history of herpes. Is this a significant risk for massage therapists? The reality is that anyone with a history of herpes simplex can shed the virus intermittently, even without visible symptoms. However, the risk to massage therapists who follow proper hygiene and self-care protocols is extremely low. In that sense, herpes falls into the same category as other infections that may be transmitted through direct contact but are effectively managed with consistent hygienic practices. The key issue is not the client's infection status; it is the therapist's adherence to appropriate hygiene protocols. Resources: Ang, J.Y. et al. Send us a textIn part four of our Love Thy Neighbor series, we explore the bold witness of Phineas Bresee, before he ever founded the Church of the Nazarene. As a young Methodist pastor in the tense years before the Civil War, Bresee stood in a pulpit draped with the American flag and called slavery what it was: sin. To him, it wasn't about politics, it was about the gospel. This sermon challenges us to see that God's holiness is not passive. It names sin, confronts injustice, and calls us to live with integrity and compassion. From ancient laws in Leviticus to modern struggles like human trafficking, economic injustice, and exploitation, we discover that holiness isn't about staying "clean" by avoiding messy situations, it is about stepping into them with redemptive love.Join us as we ask: Where is God calling us today to stand for the vulnerable, confront systems of sin, and reflect the radical love of Jesus?Other Episodes in this series:Leftover & Left BehindHonesty & HospitalityLove & LoyaltySin & Slavery Foreign & FriendLinkoln shares his story on why he started coming to Ravenna Church of the Nazarene and shares why you should consider doing the same.Ravenna Church of the Nazarene530 Main Street, Ravenna, KY 40472Support the showThe Dirt Path Sermon Podcast is a place for real sermons that speak to real life. How could it be that one can feel better about the New Orleans Saints following a 16-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday than after the win over the Arizona Cardinals last week? It's easy: Preseason scores don't matter, but the play from the first teamers do. Not only was quarterback Derek Carr much better this week, but so was the offensive line, and more specifically, tackle Trevor Penning. The play calling from offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak might have showed a glimpse into what to expect for the regular season with a heavy dose of Taysom Hill, Jamaal Williams and the run game. Also, the first-team defense was dominating, and tackle Bryan Bresee is the most improved player on the team thus far. Host Jim Derry talks to and with the audience, and we hear clips from Coach Dennis Allen, Carr and Bresee on the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 268) presented by Evangeline Securities. It's also time for “Mondays with Gabe Henderson,” and Jim finishes the show with his “Extra Point,” honoring the life of New Orleans sports media icon Ed Daniels, who passed away Friday.

Where do players like Jake Haener and Kendre Miller fall on the 2023 draft class power rankings? Taysom Hill is the key to success for the Saints offense, but they have o commit to him being a part of the gameplan more often. In Hour 2 of GoJo and Golic, they kick off with a discussion about the turnaround of the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. Following up with "Three for Thursday," diving into three NFL topics for the weekend. Who will be the first to hand a loss to the undefeated Eagles and 49ers? Can Gardner Minshew lead the Colts to success against the Jaguars? They talk about the NBA's latest revelation, discussing data suggesting that player rest may not necessarily equate to improved player health, igniting questions about player well-being in the league. Star rookie defensive tackle Brian Bresee, formerly of Clemson and now with the New Orleans Saints, shares insights into his transition to the NFL, his new team and watching Clemson this year. They end today's pod with the WNBA Finals, a Bigfoot sighting video and a captivating revelation from Jada Pinkett Smith. [00:20] - NFL Three for Thursday + NBA GoJo and Golic kick things off by discussing the Steelers' impressive bounce-back after an embarrassing loss and marvel at Mike Tomlin's coaching prowess. Moving on to "Three for Thursday," they debate who will suffer their first loss between the Eagles and 49ers, whether Gardner Minshew can lead the Colts to victory against the Jaguars, and delve into the NBA's recent assertion that player rest doesn't necessarily translate to improved player health. [19:51] - NCAA College Football: Taylor Swift at the Chiefs Game News is circulating about Taylor Swift attending a Chiefs game, and GoJo couldn't be more excited. Golic, however, questions people who are angry about it, pointing out that fans won't miss any of the game just because Swift is in the audience. The conversation takes a turn as GoJo addresses the viral James Franklin sound bite from Penn State, a moment that left him deeply uncomfortable and calling on people to stop making online threats. [29:40] - NFL: Special Guest Brian Bresee A special guest joins the show, star rookie defensive tackle Brian Bresee of the New Orleans Saints and former Clemson DT. He talks about his transition from college to the NFL, the pressure that comes with being a first-round pick, and the differences he's noticed in the NFL, such as the talent and athleticism of the players. He discusses Derek Carr behind the scenes as a leader of the team and talks about what it was like watching the Clemson-Duke game. Bresee ends it all by expressing his admiration for his former coach, Dabo Swinney. [29:32] - This, That and the Third The hour ends with "This, That, and the Third." GoJo and Golic analyze the WNBA Finals, with the Aces taking a 2-0 lead against the NY Liberty. They express a desire for more competitive games and highlight the Aces' historic shooting statistics. They also touch on a viral Bigfoot sighting video, sharing their skepticism. Lastly, they bring up the recent revelation from Jada Pinkett Smith about her separation from Will Smith, sparking a short thought about celebrity relationships in the media.
