In part four of The Alien Series from Fueled By Death Cast, I begin to look deeper into some of the societies and research groups that have been created to look for truth in the UFO phenomenon. Do you believe that aliens exist, and other worlds supporting life are out there in the universe? I ask retired astronaut Nicole Stott, MUFON member Henry Zebrowski, science fiction author Larry Niven, and theoretical physicist Dr. Michio Kaku their thoughts on aliens and UFOs. The Men in Black, MUFON, CUFOS, and more are the groups focused on in this installment.

On this week in science from Fueled By Death Cast, first, we take a long look at the Sun. Well, not literally, because that is where Hawaii's Inouye Solar Telescope comes in. This groundbreaking technology allows scientists the closest and most detailed looks at our favorite star, and the first images are stunning. Then, a 3,000-year-old mummy whose name was Nesyamun 'speaks' for the first time since his death. Scientists have 3D printed the man's vocal tract and reproduced a sound that could be very close to what Nesyamun sounded like when he was alive. Finally - have you ever been listening to the radio and the signal was interrupted or the station changed suddenly? Well, science might finally have the answer to why, and it is thanks to studying Mars.
Death Wish Coffee Company Employee Episode #31 D-MAN IS BACK! On a very special employee feature and the 164th episode of the podcast, Dustin Alexander gets back on the mic. Dustin was the co-conspirator behind Fueled By Death Cast and co-hosted the show for the first two seasons before becoming the head of logistics here at Death Wish Coffee. We talk about what his new role entails and how he has evolved from a part-time K-Cup packer to managing the logistics team. Plus, Dustin and I reminisce about some of our favorite experiences together on the show including interviewing Zakk Wylde in his recording studio, The Black Vatican, on the monumental 100th episode. Don't miss a minute of fun with the return of The Amazing D-Man. Check out the full transcript and video clips at www.deathwishcoffee.com/dustin
Welcome to the first-ever REINCARNATED episode of Fueled By Death Cast. I will be giving new listeners a look back at earlier episodes in the reincarnated series, and fans of the show since the beginning can relive some of the best bits of previous podcasts! This week is all about Groundhog Day because, without fail, the holiday is celebrated every year on February 2nd. In 2017, my cohost D-Man and myself, Mike Brown, and John Swedish ventured down to Punxsutawney PA to see the holiday festivities up close. We talked with some of the inner circle and reminisced about the cult classic movie starring Bill Murray. Plus - hear the origins of the holiday as D-Man and I break down Groundhog Day celebrations around the world.
The final part of our Humanity in Space series from Fueled By Death Cast takes a look at the future of space exploration. From NASA's new Artemis program, to the newest spaceships being designed by SpaceX and Boeing, we are going back to the moon and hopefully farther into space than we ever have before. Plus, new technology and science is being sent to the farthest reaches of the galaxy in the hopes that one day we will become an inter-planetary society.
On science this week from Fueled By Death Cast, NASA has released a stunning animation detailing exactly what we think a black hole would look like if you got close enough to observe it. With a lot of new data coming in all the time, we are finally starting to get a better understanding of this mysterious phenomenon in the universe. In fact, only earlier this year did we actually capture the first-ever picture of a black hole. Plus, the 2014 sc-fi movie Interstellar really did their homework as the movie depictions look surprisingly similar to these recent concepts from NASA. Then, I recently discovered a wonderful site called OCEARCH that is a hub for all the tracked sharks, whales, turtles, seals and more sea life in the ocean. You can follow your favorite species or become very informed about singular animals, and even donate to the no-profit organization to help further their research and provide curriculum for STEM programs. Check out more at www.ocearch.org
On science this week from Fueled By Death Cast, NASA is rolling out a brand new series called #AskNASA. You can use the hashtag on Twitter to ask NASA a question and they might have an astronaut or scientist answer on one of the shows, premiering every Monday on nasa.gov. We replay the first episode which just so happens to feature astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor, who was drinking Death Wish Coffee on the International Space Station last year! Plus, NASA asked Brad Pitt some questions about his new movie Ad Astra to help start the whole series! Then, NASA is working with astronauts in space to develop a new understanding of asthma and how it can be treated both here on Earth, and on other worlds.
This week on science from Fueled By Death Cast, astronomers have discovered another interstellar object, and this one could be a comet. The first object, Oumuamua, was discovered only a week before it flew out of our solar system into the universe. This new object should be in our solar system for almost a year, giving scientists enough time to properly study it. Plus, if it does turn out to be a comet, the discovery could lead to some surprising data about the universe itself. Then, NASA won two Creative Arts Emmy Awards. one for the coverage of the first test of the Crew Dragon capsule, which launched from Cape Canaveral and docked with the International Space Station for the first time. The second award was for the interactive coverage NASA and JPL produced for the Mars InSight lander mission, which is still getting data today on the red planet.
On this week's science segment from Fueled By Death Cast, it's all about dinosaurs. First, a new dinosaur species was identified in Japan. Kamuysaurus Japonicus is a new genus and species of hadrosaurid or duck-billed dinosaur. This new find will help scientists to further unlock the mysteries of these dinosaurs, including their reasons for being near large bodies of water. Then, new evidence about Tyrannosaurs Rex suggests that the holes in their skulls might work like giant thermostats. Much like alligators today have temperature regulators in their skull, the T. Rex could also have had this biological phenomenon.
On this week in science from Fueled By Death Cast, I check in with the progress on the Mars 2020 rover from NASA. The final clean lab tests are being performed, and some of the last pieces of technology are being added to the rover, including the very interesting Mars Helicopter. Developed by NASA, the helicopter flies differently than a helicopter in on Earth, having to compensate for the gravity and atmosphere of the red planet. One of the final things left to do with the Mars 2020 rover is to give it a name! So kids all across the country from grades K-12 have the chance to submit their suggestion and a short essay explaining their name choice to NASA by Nov.1. The names will be voted on and a winner announced on Feb 18th, 2020, exactly one year before the rover touches down on the surface of Mars.
This week on science from Fueled By Death Cast, we first check-in with NASA's Parker Solar Probe which has completed two rotations around the sun and well into it's third. The probe launched on August 12, 2018, and has already yielded amazing results about the star in our backyard. Then, the mystery deepens with new evidence surrounding the Skeleton Lake high in the Himalaya Mountains. Over 800 skeletons have been found at this site from different backgrounds and timeframes. Why did they all end up there?
On episode 132 of Fueled By Death Cast welcome guitarist Kragen Lum to the show. Kragen is best known for playing with Exodus but also plays with the bands Heathen and Prototype. On this episode, Kragen talks about how he got into the music industry and how playing guitar in these bands eventually led to him working as a manager for a few projects as well. Plus, Kragen produces extensive guitar books for many of the bands, with a new one from Exodus just released, and he even worked in the video game industry for a while, working on titles like Guitar Hero and Tonky Hawk Pro Skater. Kragen loves to stay busy and loves what he does, and talks about what fuels him to keep doing it all. Check out the transcript of the podcast and more at www.deathwishcoffee.com/kragenlum

This led Nate to create Free Up, a marketplace that connects businesses with pre-vetted virtual assistants. Nate talks about his journey in business and what fuels him to keep remaining motivated. Check out the transcript and more at www.deathwishcoffee.com/nathanhirsch
On the 127th episode of Fueled By Death Cast, Legendary bassist Terry Butler joins the podcast this week to talk all things metal. We discuss his career spanning bands like Death and Six Feet Under, and his current projects Massacre and Obituary. Terry talks about how his playing has evolved through the various bands he has played with and some of his favorite basses to play. Plus, we talk about the current tour with Hatebreed, Obituary's plans for the next album, and what keeps Terry kicking ass. This interview was recorded before Terry suffered a terrible tragedy when his daughter was killed in a car accident. She left behind two young boys and if you would like to help the family out you can donate at www.gofundme.com/jonawright Check out the transcript and more at www.deathwishcoffee.com/terrybutler
This week on science I talk about NASA and dinosaurs, two of my favorite things. For the first time in history, women are leading three of the four science branches at NASA. These women are the ones in charge of many of the exciting missions, experiments, and projects that will be pushing us father in space and helping to create a better life here on Earth. Meet Sandra Cauffman, the acting director of the Earth Science division, Nicola Fox, the head of the Heliophysics division, and Lori Glaze who leads the Planetary Science division. Then, there are new details surrounding a brand new dinosaur discovered, Ambopteryx Longibrachium. this dinosaur was small and had membrane-type wings, furthering the connections of dinosaurs to modern birds and gliding mammals like flying squirrels. Plus, she talks about traveling the world appearing in conventions and how she hopes to start a fine art convention of her own. Learn about what fuels Chantale and where she thinks the future of art and tattoo is headed. Check out more from Chantale including the full transcript at www.deathwishcoffee.com/chantale
On this week's Science episode from Fueled By Death Cast, the first recorded details of marsquakes are sent back from the InSight lander. With haunting audio, this proves that the red planet is still active with these quakes and will help us peer deeper into the interior as we find more. Then, modern chemistry is based on facts and some theories that have never been proven until now. Early after the Big Bang that started the universe, there had to have been the first ever molecule formed from the first atoms of hydrogen and helium. This molecule had never been found in space, and all of that has changed.
In the science clip from Fueled By Death Cast this week I wish a very Happy 29th Anniversary to the Hubble space telescope. Sent up in 1990 on the Space Shuttle Discovery, Hubble has been instrumental in expanding our understanding of the universe with stunning images from across the galaxy and beyond. Also this week it was announced the astronaut Christina Koch will be extending her stay on the space station, with her mission now lasting 328 days. She will return to Earth in February of 2020 and break the record for the longest duration in space by a female astronaut.
In this week's science segment from Fueled By Death Cast, I detail just how you can help vote n a name from a new minor planet in the Kuiper Belt. Currently called 2007or10, you can help pick a name for this celestial body from three ancient deities. Head over to https://2007or10.name to cast your vote. Also, I talk about the recent success SpaceX had with it's Falcon Heavy launch. With video of the launch and incredible landing of all three rockets, SpaceX has proven once again they are a prime contender in the growing field of space exploration. SpaceX was also named by NASA to be a part of the DART program, or Double Asteroid Redirection Test, which will be deployed in 2021.
In this science clip from Fueled By Death Cast, I talk about NASA's plans to send a helicopter to Mars aboard the next Mars rover in 2020. The problem with testing such a vehicle is that the gravity and atmosphere are so much different on the red planet, NASA had to virtually create the conditions in a lab. Then, the first ever all-women spacewalk was canceled due to not having the safest equipment on board the International Space Station. I break down exactly why and just how dangerous spacewalks are, and astronaut Anne McClain talks about the decision on the space station.
On our science segment this week, I unpack all the details from NASA's announcement to go back to the Moon to stay, and eventually go to Mars. Starting in 2020, the Orion Spacecraft will begin test launches on the SLS rocket. Also, NASA and private and commercial companies will be working on the Gateway spacecraft which will act as an orbiting hub around the Moon to ferry astronauts to the lunar surface. Along with new science experiments and robotic rovers being deployed to the Moon, everything will be used as a field test to inevitably send a human presence to Mars by 2030. This is all exciting and groundbreaking for humanity, but we need to think about revising the laws that govern space as well. Dr. Michio Kaku chimes in on this idea from a clip from episode 63 of Fueled By Death Cast.
This week on episode 114 we welcome the "Voice of Death" himself, Brock Powell. Brock is the voice behind all the bumps on Fueled By Death Cast and he joins the show for the second time as a guest. We talk with Brock in Los Angeles about voice acting in cartoons versus video games, his favorite history surrounding the craft, and some of his tips on taking care of your voice and vocal cords. Plus, Brock discusses his love for Disney and specifically the show he works on, Milo Murphy's Law. Check out more from Brock including the transcript at deathwishcoffee.com/brock2
In this clip from episode 112 of Fueled By Death Cast, we talk about seven new pieces of parchment found containing information about Merlin the Wizard. Straight out of Arthurian legend, these new findings s shed light on stories we already knew, and also open up the realm of new possibilities surrounding the myths. Also, a rock collected on the moon during the Apollo 14 mission might have originated on Earth, thanks to recent findings from researchers. Check out the full episode along with the weekly podcast at deathwishcoffee.com/mrtbt
In this clip from Fueled By Death Show 111, we run down some history and traditions surrounding the holiday of Groundhog Day. This weird and slightly strange weather predicting rodent has been around since the late 1800s and is even more popular today thanks to a cult favorite movie starring Bill Murray. Plus, we actually went to Punxsutawney PA in 2017 and recall some of our memories from that trip, which was immortalized on episode 9 of Fueled By Death CAst - deathwishcoffee.com/groundhog Check out the full show along with the weekly podcast at deathwishcoffee.com/robprior

Fueled By Death Cast started as a simple idea: create an audio podcast that each week asks a guest the question, "What Fuels You"? We are all "fueled by death" - the drive to leave this world a better place before we inevitably leave it for good. After 52 episodes and a handful of special 'on location' episodes, this show has morphed from an audio podcast to a weekly internet-based TV show and audio and video guest interviews. As the show reaches its one year anniversary, The Incredible Jeff and The Amazing D-Man take a look back at some of their favorite moments. There is a Science supercut with favorites like the Juno spacecraft and mysteries in Eygpt's pyramids. Then there's a What Fuels You recap with some of the best answers to the question from various guests and fans. The fun continues with a special 'Blooper Reel', a look back at some of the incredible places the podcast went like Walker Stalker Convention in Nashville, and even a first-ever look at the 'pilot' episode that was recorded and never aired. With season one in the books, the hosts look to the future and season two, with more incredible episodes of Fueled By Death Cast, brought to you by the World's Strongest Coffee Company. Check out the homepage for VIDEO with content available in the audio version deathwishcoffee.com/yearone
