In 1975, two seven-year-old boys in Kofu, Japan, reported an encounter with a flying saucer and its occupants. They were taken seriously, and an investigation revealed not only other witnesses, but also physical evidence to back up their story. The case was re-examined almost 40 years later by investigators from the Space Phenomena Observatory Center, and in their opinion, still holds up. A report was given to the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization and the Center for UFO Studies by Matsushito Hayashi of the Japan Space Phenomena Association. Both organizations provided summaries (APRO here on page 5; and CUFOS here on page 13) in their publications. A two-part article using extensive Japanese sources was written by Otakupapa. It is titled Kofu Incident: A Creepy Alien Got Off a UFO and Tapped a Japanese Boy on the Shoulder and is posted on otakupapa.net.According to the article, on Sunday, February 23, 1975, Masato Kono and Katushiro Yamahata were roller-skating on a concrete slab in a vacant lot at around 6:30 p.m. Looking up, they saw two lights moving towards them from the east. According to the version of events in one of Otakupapa's sources (Kubota, Hachiro UFO to Uchu (UFOs & Space) June 1975, NO.12, 8-17, Universe Publishing Co.), the lights were seen by the boys to be orange objects as they got closer. At this point the boys could see that the objects were circular with three spinning structures on the bottom. The boys' descriptions of the objects are very much like the “classic” Adamski-type saucer. According to writer Hiroshi Minamiyama (Otakupapa's other source for this moment in the story) only one object came over to the boys while the other one flew off.Read more →

Masters, a professor of biological anthropology specializing in human evolutionary anatomy, archaeology, and biomedicine, explores how the persistence of long-term biological and cultural trends in human evolution may ultimately result in us becoming the ones piloting these disc-shaped craft, which are likely the very devices that allow our future progeny to venture backward across the landscape of time. Moreover, these extraterrestrials are ubiquitously described as bipedal, large-brained, hairless, human-like beings who communicate languages, and, with us in our possession, technology advanced beyond but built upon our own. These accounts, coupled with a thorough understanding of the past and modern human condition, point to the continuation of established biological and cultural trends here on Earth long into the distant human future. Other investigations of UFOs Despite the failure of the ETH to make headway with the expert committees, a few scientists and engineers, most notably J. Allen Hynek, an astronomer at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, who had been involved with projects Sign, Grudge, and Blue Book, concluded that a small fraction of the most-reliable UFO reports gave definite indications for the presence of extraterrestrial visitors. Hynek founded the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS), which continues investigating the phenomenon. Another major U.S. study of UFO sightings was the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a secret project from 2007 to 2012. When the existence of the AATIP was made public in December 2017, the most newsworthy aspect of it was a report that the U.S. government possessed unidentifiable alloys and compounds purportedly attained from UFOs. Still, many scientists remained skeptical about this claim. Aside from the American efforts, the only other official and relatively complete records of UFO sightings were kept in Canada, where they were transferred in 1968 from the Canadian Department of National Defense to the Canadian National Research Council. The Canadian records comprised about 750 sightings. Less complete records have been maintained in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, and Greece. In the United States, CUFOS and the Mutual UFO Network in Bellvue, Colorado, continue to log sightings reported by the public. In the Soviet Union, sightings of UFOs were often prompted by tests of secret military rockets. To obscure the true nature of the tests, the government sometimes encouraged the public's belief that these rockets might be extraterrestrial craft but eventually decided that the descriptions might give away too much information. For UFO researchers, and especially those interested in UFO history, the internet is a treasure trove. There are many, easily accessible archives online, with Archive.org, and Archives for the Unexplained being two of the main go-to sites. There is also a lot of material available thanks to researchers who preserved it on their sites during periods of active research and investigation, and the material remains despite many having ceased any major activity. Two examples are the websites left behind (and looked after by caring former members) by the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena and the Center for UFO Studies. Among the archived material can be found articles on UFO incidents clipped out of newspapers. These were gathered, in many cases, by individual researchers in the area of a UFO incident, or through the efforts of a network of members of some of the larger organizations, such as NICAP and CUFOS. Then, in 1969, a young UFO enthusiast took it upon himself to start a news-clipping service devoted to UFOs and other things fortean. He copied, cut, and pasted the clippings to put together a monthly publication, available by subscription, appropriately named the UFO Newsclipping Service.Read more →

Just before Aerith's Theme, whilst Mulder'ing up, the famous X-Files tune from the television series played. The famous instrumental, usually known as ‘The X-Files' was composed by Mark Snow. Thomas J. Carey, a native Philadelphian, holds degrees from Temple University (B.S. in Business Administration) and California State University, Sacramento (M.A. in Anthropology), and also attended the University of Toronto in its Ph.D. Program in Anthropology. An Air Force veteran who held a Top Secret/Crypto clearance, Tom is now a retired Philadelphia area businessman. He has been a Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) State Section Director for Southeastern Pennsylvania from 1986 to 2002, a Special Investigator for the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies [CUFOS] from 1991 to 2001, and a member of the CUFOS board of directors from 1997 to 2001. Tom began investigating aspects of the Roswell Incident in 1991 for the Roswell investigative team of Kevin Randle and Don Schmitt, and since 1998 has teamed exclusively with Don Schmitt to continue a proactive investigation of the case. Hace pocos días Gerardo Nieto anunció en el ciclo Vamo arriba que es domingo de Canal 4 que el show de Karibe Con K en el Antel Arena se canceló por diferencias económicas con Miguel Cufos y Yesty Prieto. A raíz de las palabras del cantante, Cufos fue el protagonista de la sección "Vamos a la fuente" del programa Hacemos lo que podemos. Al momento de la comunicación contó que hacía pocos minutos había hablado con Nieto y se reunirían en las próximas horas para aclarar el entredicho. Remarcó que "no es fácil trabajar con Gerardo (Nieto)" pero entre tantas cosa afirmó que "todo tiene solución menos la muerte".

In June, the U.S. military issued a report saying that out of 144 sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena, they were only able to explain one of them. Or put another way: The government has admitted to encountering UFOs that defy explanation. This report may have brought renewed attention toward the sky, but Chicago is home to the nation's first organization dedicated to the scientific study of UFOs. The Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) was founded in the 1970s by a born-and-bred Chicagoan who had studied these phenomena for the government.
