After a long, LONG layover, we are back streaming Ocarina of Time Randomizer by popular demand! Last time we we played, we had just beaten King Dodongo but got stuck with a lack of items trying to get into Jabu Jabu's Belly, so this time, we're scouring Hyrule looking for upgrades! We venture to Kakariko Village, Goron City, the Lost Woods, and Gerudo Valley in search of items, PLUS Andy learns that Epona can jump across the Gerudo bridge, we find the Megaton Hammer in the Gerudo Training Grounds, and discover the location of the Hookshot - although it's just out of reach! The game is over and the credits are rolling! This is the grand finale episode of the Ocarina of Time Gameclub and for this one we played from the Fire Temple through beating the entire game. There are a lot of spoilers in this episode, and this game is kinda unhinged. Did we get every heart piece? No. Did we get every skulltula? No. But we had a fun time playing through a great journey and a great game. Not sure yet what's next, but it might be Majora's Mask. Stay tuned. The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe Atlantis. Plato told of an ancient civilisation that went to war with Athens. But what happened to this land? Does evidence remain today? Should it be so hard to find considering that Plato told us roughly where this land was? We know that Troy has been ‘discovered' so should we really be so skeptical about Atlantis? There's a bit of sidetracking (as always) and clearly The Little Mermaid is not a well of knowledge Greybeard and Moonwalker have ever drunk from. Anyway… If Atlantis existed approximately 11,000 years ago as per Plato aka 9,000 Before Common Era, could any evidence have actually survived to this day? Lots of folks including Nazi's and James Cameron have got in on the search. But what is that search is misplaced? What if the evidence isn't left behind in land, structures and artefacts? What if that evidence is left behind in our very blood? All that and more on this week's file. Get ready to rumble, because this week the gang are talking a little Smash and a little Zelda, and specifically, what the best stages to play on are. Is Temple still the favorite and what makes it such an elite stage? Are Bridge of Eldin and Gerudo Valley just a little too boring to be great? Is N64's Hyrule Castle "Zelda" enough? Was Breath of the Wild's representation in Smash Ultimate below average? Why dies 2D Zelda get no love at all in the fighting series? And what stages would we have picked if we were in charge of making those decisions? All this, PLUS some followup from last weeks Breath of the Wild 2 delay. You won't wanna miss this episode! In the land of Hyrule, it's time to do some more side quest stuff, and this time we even start in on part of one of those temple things. We do a momentary but harmonious duo of the Flower Garden theme from Yoshi's Island. Also, a group called Malcura does on of the best Gerudo Valley mixes. I love the high energy of this live version that was recorded once, but they also have a studio version of the theme they put up just a few days ago. The studio version is hair slower paced, but has a wider variety of instruments going on. Finally, I did say that I'd link "that one Egoraptor video" in the show notes. Subscribe on Patreon if you wanna see the video version!
Metal Gear!? To hear those words uttered in a Zelda game would give me no end of joy, but then, I'm a big fan of stealthy games and Tactical Espionage Action. But after kicking around the idea, I realized that Zelda has a plethora of stealthy sections spread out in the series for us to dissect and discuss. Come hang with us as we talk Gerudo Valley, Silent Realms, the Yiga Clan Hideout, the Forsaken Fortress, and more as we offer our two cents of most of the stealth segments currently available in Zelda. Plus, weigh in on a side bar we found ourselves discussing on the show - is Master Kohga is major letdown of a character? What do you think? Hello! Sorry this went up so late! We had some technical difficulties. We will put out our Blade Runner episode and our Blade Runner 2049 episode this week most likely. There are probably talking points. Who knows. I only had an hour to edit. I'm sorry. There wasn't a whole lot I could do about this today. I used the Gerudo Valley theme from The Legend of Zelda series today. I own no rights to it.
We're living in an age of incredible content. The last few weeks have given us Logan, Legion, Lego Batman, Horizon Zero Dawn and two Future albums. But we're not gonna talk about those things this week. We're too hooked on Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the long awaited game on the brand new Nintendo Switch, that console that we've been talking about since we started Hey Fam. We didn't even want to record today. We'd rather be fucking up Moblins in Gerudo Valley, but we had to let the fam know our hot Hyrule takes. Hopefully you enjoy this all Zelda episode, because it looks like that's all we're gonna be able to talk about for the next few months. - Hey Fam is a weekly pop culture podcast hosted by good pals Andrew Levins and Angus Truskett, reviewing the latest in movies, TV and video games with regular guests from Sydney’s comedy and arts scene.
