What happens when an accent choice derails an SVU where the initial crime is wrapped up in an open-and-shut murder at minute 19 and becomes a bizarre cold-case-cum-morality-play sans benefit of flashback? Well, the Randomizer selected “Persona” (Season 10, Episode 8), so Adam and Josh found out the hard way. For far from the first time in the run of Munch My Benson, a foreign-born actor plays fast and loose with a wavering accent. This time, the offender was two-time Oscar-nominee Brenda Blethyn, whose presence pulls a certain big gun down from the bench to settle a 34-year-old score. Along the way, the question as to whether this feminist text passes the Bechdel test, the greater concerns raised by Liv's proclivity towards inappropriate actions, an exploration of just what “vile thing” meant in 1974-speak, and an alternate reality in which Benson DuBois chases down perps are all discussed.Music:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Erin M, Melissa H, Olivia, Holly F, Karina H, Zak B, Karyn R, Summer S, and Matt - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! The Leisure Hive should be a relaxing holiday: a beachside opening, fabulous costumes, and Lalla Ward dressed like she just won regatta season. Instead, we find a story with enough ideas for three serials and enough pacing for half of one. Is it a commentary on nuclear war? A tourism satire? A hard-sci-fi flex? A lizard-mafia caper? Somehow it's all of them, plus the moment Doctor Who quietly kills off the Randomizer and ushers in the John Nathan-Turner era with neon, synths, and pure style. Join us as we step into the tachyon chamber to confront old-man Tom Baker and the most leisurely chaos in the Fourth Doctor's final stretch.Give your own rating for The Leisure Hive on Spotify!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and become a True Companion of the podcast to get new episodes before everyone else!Subscribe to our newsletter at pulltoopen.net for extended notes on The Leisure Hive.Support the podcast by becoming a patron of Pull To Open on Patreon. Please review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts.Timeline:Intro 00:00:00Previously… 00:02:15Whomoji Challenge 00:07:52POLL to Open 00:12:36Comment of the week 00:15:03TL;DW 00:22:17Review: The Leisure Hive 00:24:51Four Questions to Doomsday 01:05:14What If the Evil Plot Had Succeeded? 01:08:57Where Is the Clara Splinter? 01:13:14Final Judgment 01:18:18Randomizer! 01:24:02Follow us on:TikTok: @pulltoopenInstagram: @pulltoopen63Facebook: @pulltoopen63X: @pulltoopen63Threads: @pulltoopen63Bluesky: @pulltoopenPlay Pull To Open BingoStory EssentialsSeason 18, Serial 1Story number: 109, per the The Pull To Open CodexWriter: David FisherDirector: Lovett BickfordScript Editor: Christopher H. Five years, 160 stories, one increasingly suspicious Randomizer. Pull To Open has reached the exact midpoint of its mad dash through all of Doctor Who, so Pete and Chris are taking a break from the usual TL;DW chaos to ask the big questions: How did this thing start? When did the podcast actually get good? Which Doctors and eras has the Randomizer weirdly favored — or avoided — and why does Doctor Who somehow work better in random order than almost any franchise alive? Join us as we look back on listener Homojis, cursed pirate detours, guest-star highlights, production growing pains, and the dawning realization that this “five-year mission” is really a ten-year one. For Father's Day, the Randomizer decided to troll dads everywhere with a tale of woe and trauma that sure makes one father look AWFUL. We watched "Redemption In Her Corner" (S21E13) this week. Don't worry though because plenty of other people get some stink on them too because this is Law & Order: SVU, after all. As per usual, Adam and Josh go down innumerable rabbit holes—trying to figure out just what Liv's birthday actually is, wondering what Barba was doing in Iowa investigating election fraud for primaries that don't exist, the origins of the boxing for fitness craze, and the origins of Italian soups. Fathers everywhere should listen to remind them that there are a lot of bad dads out there, and they should work to make sure they're not one of them.We also talk Munch My Benson Movie Club pick Brain Dead, an existential brainmelter featuring Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton. Yes, they're two separate people.Note: This episode was recorded before the eventful Season 22 finale, so keep that in mind re: Rollisi talk.Links:Emma Sofia Caymares's video for “I Don't Know You”Music:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Erin M, Melissa H, Olivia, Holly F, Karina H, Zak B, Karyn R, Summer S, and Matt - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! It's the Second Doctor's second story, and he's already cross-dressing, bashing heads, and doing the worst German accent this side of Oktoberfest. The Highlanders is a story where the Doctor flails through post-regeneration weirdness while Ben, Polly, and proto-companion Jamie navigate the aftermath of Culloden and a plot to sell Scots into slavery. With violent slapstick, dodgy disguises, and an unexpected showdown on a boat, this might be the most violent—and historically faithful—Doctor Who story ever made. But does the Randomizer's gift of Jamie McCrimmon come wrapped in tartan triumph… or just more post-battle trauma?Give your own rating for The Highlanders on Spotify!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and become a True Companion of the podcast to get new episodes before everyone else!Subscribe to our newsletter at pulltoopen.net for extended notes on The Highlanders.Support the podcast by becoming a patron of Pull To Open on Patreon. Please review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts.Timeline:Intro 00:00:00Previously… 00:03:05Whomoji Challenge 00:07:07POLL to Open 00:13:23TL;DW 00:19:55Commentary: The Highlanders 00:22:26History Corner 00:47:20Four Questions to Doomsday 01:02:08What If the Evil Plot Had Succeeded? 01:05:13Where Is the Clara Splinter? 01:09:10Final Judgment 01:12:57Randomizer! 01:17:14Follow us on:TikTok: @pulltoopenInstagram: @pulltoopen63Facebook: @pulltoopen63X: @pulltoopen63Threads: @pulltoopen63Bluesky: @pulltoopenPlay Pull To Open BingoStory EssentialsSeason 4, Serial 4Story number: 30, per the The Pull To Open CodexWriters: Elwyn Jones, Gerry DavisDirector: Hugh DavidScript Editor: Gerry DavisProducer: Innes LloydAired 17 December 1966–7 January 1967Pull To Open: The HighlandersSeason 7Episode 2Hosts: Pete Pachal and Chris TaylorMusic: Martin West/Thinking Fish©️AnyWho Media LLC 2026Doctor Who ©️BBC 1963
Season seven of Pull To Open begins where all great potholing expeditions do: deep underground, with claw marks from the Randomizer and a moral crisis waiting at the exit. This week it's Doctor Who and the Silurians, the only story bold enough to put “Doctor Who” in the title, and then end by asking: “So… was that a genocide?” Pete and Chris debate Malcolm Hulke's surprisingly textured reptiles, UNIT's “sealed permanently” semantics, and why Pertwee is somehow fully formed in his second story. Plus: an experimental Whomoji where nobody knows the answer, an extremely nerdy Bessie license-plate detour, and a dream involving Avon from Blake's 7 and… kissing. The Randomizer (episode.lol) spat out the final episode of the disastrous Michael Chernuchin Era, which meant the Munchie Boys were force-fed the final part of some serialized content. Of course, here, this means we have long-time series regulars acting entirely uncharacteristically, including characters we'd known for 20 years. Perhaps more importantly, this episode eschews all common sense, asking society to act insanely in addition to its characters. This episode brings a season to a close that almost killed the series, and it's bad enough that Adam and Josh have to ask if it shouldn't have been put down.Music:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Erin M, Florina C, Melissa H, Olivia, Holly F, Karina H, Zak B, Karyn R, Summer S, and Matt - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! Episode #400 of BGMania: A Video Game Music Podcast. Today on the show, Bryan and Bedroth celebrate 400 mainline episodes of this concept and project that started in 2017 with our longest runtime yet for a single episode. And what better way to do so than with an idea that started a few years ago where, much like life, we have no idea what is coming next on the playlist. Besides hopefully finding some really cool things through the grace of the universe, the guys also reminisce on the past 400 episodes of BGMania, especially the last almost four years that Bedroth has been on the show. Crack one open this week and celebrate with us! Here's to many more episodes to come. Email the show at bgmaniapodcast@gmail.com with requests for upcoming episodes, questions, feedback, comments, concerns, or any other thoughts you'd like to share! This week the Battle Royale Bash features 2 returning guests, a millennial, an elite cross country runner, and a Randomizer crossover.
Adam's Paternity Leave ends next week, so get some bad mom action up in this joint. A few resourceful new Munchies figured out a work-around where you can join as a free member and upgrade from there to a paid account which charges you for one month and unlocks the back catalog behind the respective tier of the paywall. If you want more content and can't wait until we've fully unlocked everything next month, you can jump in ahead of our return in October. When the Randomizer selects a late-season SVU, there is often a concern that sets in that we might not be getting the best of the insanity that SVU has to offer. That concern was UNFOUNDED with regards to “Motherly Love” (S18E10)—which is a banger in every sense of the word. After having seen nearly 500 episodes of SVU and recorded now 77 episodes of a podcast about the show, it's safe to say that the Munchie Boys have been subjected to some unimaginably shocking things, yet this episode still dropped their jaws with its brazen impropriety. So listen as Adam and Josh revel in a truly disturbing exploration of motherhood in its darkest form. This episode is as good an exemplar as any when trying to describe why this podcast exists.Music:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Barry W, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Kate K, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Roni C, Erin M, Florina C, Melissa H, Olivia, and Holly F - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! Doctor Who gets political, camp, and candy-coated all at once in The Happiness Patrol. On Terra Alpha, Helen A rules with a smile—and a gun—while her confectionary executioner, The Candy Man, dishes out death by fondant. Pete and Chris dive into this neon-noir dystopia, unpack the not-so-subtle Thatcher parallels, and debate whether Sylvester McCoy's most infamous outing is biting satire, glorious camp, or both. Happiness will prevail… but only if the Randomizer allows it.Give your own rating for The Happiness Patrol on Spotify!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and become a True Companion of the podcast to get new episodes before everyone else!Subscribe to our newsletter at pulltoopen.net for extended notes on The Happiness Patrol.Support the podcast by becoming a patron of Pull To Open on Patreon. Please review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts.Timeline:Intro 00:00:00Previously… 00:01:47Whomoji Challenge 00:07:57POLL to Open 00:12:44TL;DW 00:19:16Commentary: The Happiness Patrol 00:21:36History Corner 01:07:22:21Four Questions to Doomsday 01:09:17What If the Evil Plot Had Succeeded? 01:14:08Where Is the Clara Splinter? 01:18:58Final Judgment 01:23:21Randomizer! 01:30:29Follow us on:TikTok: @pulltoopenInstagram: @pulltoopen63Facebook: @pulltoopen63X: @pulltoopen63Threads: @pulltoopen63Bluesky: @pulltoopenPlay Pull To Open BingoStory EssentialsSeason 25, Serial 2Story number: 152, per the The Pull To Open CodexWriter: Graeme CurryDirector: Chris CloughScript Editor: Andrew CartmelProducer: John Nathan-TurnerAired 2–16 November 1988Pull To Open: The Happiness PatrolSeason 6Episode 26Hosts: Pete Pachal and Chris TaylorMusic: Martin West/Thinking Fish©️AnyWho Media LLC 2025Doctor Who ©️BBC 1963
Adam's Paternity Leave continues, so why not cross the jump right back to where the Randomizer kicked us out to immediately after we did the three-part mega-Cragenisode? Patreon payments are frozen for the time being. A few resourceful new Munchies have figured out a work-around where you can join as a free member and upgrade from there to a paid account which charges you for one month and unlocks the back catalog behind the respective tier of the paywall. After that first payment, you won't be charged again until we're dropping new content (which we'll warn everyone is coming), so if you want more of this it can be had, along with access to the fully uncut episodes from 100 to present and Movie Club episodes.Praise be to the SVU Gods and the Randomizer because this week's Munchstallment “Russian Brides” has it all. The seventh ep from Season 13 not only thrusts a rusty Captain Cragen into undercover duty for the first time since before Cabot and Amaro were born, but it also traumatizes you with way-too-specific details as to what our vic went through before perishing. Add to that the unrealized prospect of high-end koozies, the irony of nicknaming a neighborhood Odessa by the Sea when the O.G. Odessa is in fact by the sea, a journey into the daunting world of the vory v zakone, and the fact this this episode feeds directly into the huge three-parter we just spent the past three weeks poring over, and you've got the recipe for a very tasty Cragenisode with a blini and a heaping portion of Captain Don's bottomless pit of sorrow.Music:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Barry W, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Kate K, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Roni C, Nourhane B, Erin M, Florina C, Melissa H, and Olivia - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! The finale of the Best Ball Bash and Randomizer come with fun twists. The Bash welcomes six different subscribers for three picks each in a Best Ball Mania draft. And then the Randomizer finale welcomes on Jakob Sanderson for a fun twist on powerpoint karaoke. We'll see you in September on the BR Bash!
The penultimate episode of the Best Ball Bash and Randomizer welcomes on two Deposit Kingdom YouTube members to draft a BBM6 team and be the guest on a Randomizer. We meet Chris who is the ultimate cash game bro and then Martin who has never seen an episode of the Randomizer before.
The Best Ball Bash and Randomizer return for one of the last episodes in the 2025 season and it's a real doozy. Our Bash guest is Matt Wood, Lead Writer for the Randomizer (don't worry, it's not rigged). Following that, Davis Mattek joins for a Randomizer episode where Pete plays Davis and Davis plays Pete playing Davis. It all makes sense, as long as you tune in.
This week on Best Ball Bash Cole O joins to draft a Best Ball Mania team where we get boxed out at TE while trying to chase a rookie at each position. Next up, Rotoworld's Lawrence Jackson returns to battle the wheel and dish on some info from Giants training camp.
Best Ball Bash welcomes pro sports bettor 'BradPalms' on for a BBM draft and then Fantasy Life's Jake Trowbridge returns to battle the wheel.
On, the Best Ball Bash we meet the very nice Matt Davis and suffer a hearbreaking autpick during a Best Ball Mania draft. Later, PPRTyler makes his Randomizer debut and proves that he is the ultimate bachelor.
Adam's Paternity Leave continues, so let's get dark and problematic this week. Patreon payments are frozen for the time being. A few resourceful new Munchies have figured out a work-around where you can join as a free member and upgrade from there to a paid account which charges you for one month and unlocks the back catalog behind the respective tier of the paywall. Undercover Mother is frankly an insufficient moniker to give this episode, as another mother goes undercover for our undercover mother, along with most of the rest of the Unit. Insanity reins supreme as SVU's undercover op interferes with Declan Murphy's own undercover op, one in which he's working on taking down the brutal Johnny D but not without showing that he's in so deep that he's basically a human trafficker himself. We talk the careers of Lili Taylor and Donal Logue, the history of the defunct Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, Eric Adams's purported sleep schedule, SVU's love for undercover ops, and much, much more.Sources:Creedmoor Psychiatric Center's Building 25 - Atlas ObscuraMusic:Divorcio Suave - "Munchy Business"Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Barry W, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Christine L, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Kate K, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Roni C, Nourhane B, Erin M, Florina C, Melissa H, and Olivia - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! We park the Randomizer for a moment of reflection on the Ncuti Gatwa era — an time of goblins, gods, wish worlds, and controversies that may have rewritten more than canon. From reshoots and reality wars to Billie Piper's surprise return and Disney's uncertain handshake, we dive deep into what worked (hello, 73 Yards), what didn't (Robot Revolution, anyone?), and whether Doctor Who got too much sugar in its tea this time around. Grab your sonic and settle in for a lukewarm take that might still burn your tongue.Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and become a True Companion of the podcast to get new episodes before everyone else!Subscribe to our newsletter at pulltoopen.net for extended notes on our random episodes.Support the podcast by becoming a patron of Pull To Open on Patreon. Please review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts.Follow us on:TikTok: @pulltoopenInstagram: @pulltoopen63Facebook: @pulltoopen63X: @pulltoopen63Threads: @pulltoopen63Bluesky: @pulltoopenPlay Pull To Open BingoPull To Open: Ncuti Gatwa Era LookbackSeason 6Episode 21Hosts: Pete Pachal and Chris TaylorMusic: Martin West/Thinking Fish©️AnyWho Media LLC 2025Doctor Who ©️BBC 1963
The Best Ball Bash and Randomizer return with a wildcard of a guest and the first ever H2H showdown. First on the bash we welcome Deposit Kingdom member Brandon "The_What" to reveal a shocking profession alongside shockingly sensible best ball strategy and takes. This special edition of the Randomizer brings a H2H faceoff between professional wrestlers Emo Cowboy and John Dollars. Watch as they face off in the ring, and across the draft board.
The Best Ball Bash returns with special guest Mike Robb, who stares down his opponents to submission. Next, Mike Wright from the The Fantasy Footballers joins for an electric Randomizer draft.

Joey B joins the bash and brings wildcard energy, chaotic picks, and a story about trolling Daniel Jones to his face. Later, Nez joins for a very fun Randomizer draft featuring way too many Steelers.

Best Ball Bash is back with a fun draft with community member Ryan Seal and Ron Stewart's debut on the Randomizer. Pete gets to discuss the beauty of San Diego with Ryan and Jersey Shore's beaches with Ron.
Adam's Paternity Leave continues, so we'll throw back to an ep with big guest stars. Patreon payments are frozen for the time being. Do our heroes acquit themselves well in this complex and trying situation? No, not at all. Do we enjoy discussing Adam's time out on the town, Josh's former neighbors, a variety of big money scams, and, of course, speculating about the standards and practices meeting that let the first 6 minutes of this gem burst through the cracks? Obviously.Music:Divorcio Suave - "Munchy Business"Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Barry W, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Christine L, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Kate K, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Roni C, and Nourhane B - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! The Randomizer thrust Shiri Appleby back into Munchstory for the second time in three months in "Dearly Beloved," Episode 19 of Season 20. If you want an SVU where the entire field of psychotherapy called into question by a perpetrator/victim combination for whom the concept of truth is akin to cheap toilet paper you stole from your job, then this is the episode for you. Do good therapists tell their patients/victims that they suffer from erotic rape fantasy disorder? Short answer: no.
