Note: Due to an error with the archiving on our end at the station, this week's show was not archived and the recording is lost, which is a shame because I thought this week's show went quite well. In summary, new artists and tunes were played, also I'm in the UK next week and so the shows will be prerecorded for some time. I'm still posting the playlist here so you can find the bands, but the audio is gone, sorry. To make up for it, here's my interview with Arkells from last week. This week's show was rockier and heavier; as a massive rocker in my teens, I don't mind that! New releases, recapping notable Kingston shows of the week as we lead into a week of Halloween shows. Music by: Calva Louise, Razorlight, The Wood Burning Savages, BXKS, swim school, Virgins, JD Cliffe, Adore, Poppy Ajudha, TRAITS, Alffa, Dream Wife, The Great Leslie, Michael Kiwanuka, Gondolas, Flat Party, Girlband!, Kokoroko. Find this week's playlist here. Do try and support artists directly! Touch that dial and tune in live! We're on at CFRC 101.9 FM in Kingston, or on cfrc.ca, Sundays 8 to 9:30 PM! Get in touch with the show for requests, submissions, giving feedback or anything else: email yellowbritroad@gmail.com, Twitter @YellowBritCFRC, IG @yellowbritroad. PS: submissions, cc music@cfrc.ca if you'd like other CFRC DJs to spin your music on their shows as well. Like what we do? Donate to help keep our 102-year old station going!

In the wake of the sudden passing of actor Leslie Jordan, Dennis revisits this interview he conducted with Leslie in his Los Angeles apartment on October 28, 2014. In it, Leslie discusses his one-man show "Fruit Fly" which was returned to the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's Renberg Theater that December. Leslie talks about show's origins, the theme of a gay man and his mother and the pain of revisiting his father's tragic passing in a plane crash. Leslie also tells wonderful and outrageous stories about his Emmy night turned nightmare, how his Emmy for "Will and Grace" got damaged, the "Dancing with the Stars" outing he'd like to forget and being mobbed by rabid "Sordid Lives" fans in Palm Springs. Leslie also answers these questions from the Observation Deck: Who was your most surprising fan? Where's the strangest place you've ever been recognized? And Have you ever thrown a good diva tantrum? Other topics include: working with Jessica Lange, writing a love letter to Lily Tomlin, gigantic pubic hair, spitting on Gary Busey on the British version of Big Brother, having his first boyfriend after the age of 50 and what kept him going through all the ups and downs of a career as an artist. About the interview, Dennis says, “I remember leaving Leslie's apartment after the interview feeling like I was high on some kind of drug, the drug of Leslie Jordan. He just made people happy on screen and off and what I find most inspiring about him is that he chose to be that way. I guess the lesson there is we all can.”

Hey, y'all. Shay here. On air indie. Welcome & enjoy. Episode 44 First, music history trivia for May 11th. In 1969 Led Zeppelin attended an Elvis show at the Los Angeles Forum in California. After a shaky start to the show, Elvis stopped the band and said, “Wait a minute, if we can start together fellas, because we've got Led Zeppelin out there, lets try to look like we know what we're doing.” The band met with Elvis after the show, spending over 2 hours backstage. Elvis asked for all the group's autographs for his daughter, Lisa Marie. London-based alt rock band The Great Leslie is with us today. Ollie Trevors and Jason Mark Boyd come onto the podcast to chat with me. We chat about that, how the band came together and their creative process. We worked with the same team as last time, with Julian Smith directing, and Adrian Homeshaw as our DOP. It was Julian who actually came up with the idea of just having a really simple blacked-out studio and playing around with different lighting rigs.It was also really important that we introduce each member of the band, as it gives everyone some screen time to really shine.”Directed by Julian Smith (@juliansmithdirector).
