Lees hier meer over het onderzoek: Ancient sharks may have pioneered the ability to taste bitterness in foodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Marc then asks Greg for his thoughts on Shaq Leonard's comments and how the Colts should move forward. Greg finishes the conversation by sharing a story about the farthest trip he's ever taken to broadcast a game. 1:03:18 – 1:09:20 - Morning Checkdown 1:09:21 - 1:29:33 – Derrick White calls in and gives a “boots on the ground” report from Frankfurt, Germany. Jackson Gatlin (@Locked On Rockets) is joined by Kane Pitman (@Locked On Bucks) to discuss Giannis Antetokounmpo's comments regarding his future with the Milwaukee Bucks and his decision to NOT sign a contract extension this summer, how Giannis' comments should be interpreted, the interesting timing of the comments, and what the bar for success is in Milwaukee this season. Then, Mike Richman (@Locked On Blazers) jumps in to tackle the latest Portland Trailblazers Damian Lillard trade news, with a "mystery team" reportedly entering the negotiations, which Eastern Conference team is likely the one pursuing Dame, would that team's offer be better or worse than the Miami Heat offer, will this situation drag into training camp, and if Lillard is still in Portland during the season how does it impact the Blazers development. Lastly, Tony East (@Locked On Pacers) breaks down the Indiana Pacers desire to trade veteran sharpshooter Buddy Hield after contract extension discussions stalled out, what a proper return for Hield should look like, whether the Pacers should prioritize draft capital or a rotation player, which teams are likely to pursue Hield, and is Hield expected to still play a role in Indiana until a trade materializes. #Bucks #Blazers #Pacers Subscribe to the Locked On NBA YouTube Channel: Locked On NBA Follow/Subscribe/Listen Anywhere: linktr.ee/LockedOnNBA Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! | Offers: https://lockedonpodcasts.com/offers/ DoorDash – Get fifty percent off your first DoorDash order up to a twenty-dollar value when you use code lockedonnba at checkout. Indiana Pacers are reportedly looking to trade Hield after contract extension talks go south…
With word that Buddy Hield and the Indiana Pacers will be parting waves and looking for a trade, the Locked on Nets guys get into it about whether this could be a good move for Brooklyn? The Nets will go into next season with a possible big hole when it comes to team shooting and Buddy Hield has proven to be one of the very best three-point shooters over the course of his career. Could Sean Marks and company think about stop-gapping some of their possible spacing issues with a guy like Hield? Or is this a total non-starter because of Hield's age and the team's overall timeline? Thursday, Christian Wood met the LA media for the first time, and said a lot of "meeting the media for the first time" type things. How excited he is to be in Los Angeles, how (as a Long Beach native) he's always wanted to play for the Lakers. And how he has a great relationship with Darvin Ham... who called him every day during free agency. Every day? That's a lot of days, and a lot of calls. But even if it's an exaggeration, it also makes some sense. The Lakers didn't have any extra money to offer, but what they could sell were vibes and opportunity. And whether you're a big Darvin guy or not, there probably aren't too many guys around the league who can sell culture to a player better than he can. And really, context should drive home to Wood the critical nature of this opportunity. If he doesn't make it work in LA, if he can't accept and then thrive in a role on a good team, where does he go from here? But red flags aside, the Lakers got the most talented player left available on the free agent market. And if you want him, it can't hurt to sweet talk him a little. Meanwhile, Pat Beverley was on his podcast, talking about the Jarred Vanderbilt extension. Interestingly, he told him that his advice was not to sign an extension. Why? Because players who do that get paid appropriately. Players who get signed during free agency? They get overpaid. Whether that would have applied to Vanderbilt is an open question, but it's a fascinating view of how folks get paid in the league. And finally, Buddy Hield is on the trade market. But this is a Buddy Hield safe space, because the Lakers do not have any players they can trade for him until at least mid-December. But what's really interesting is that the need for someone like Hield is a lot lower now than it was a year ago at this time. Please leave your Hield comments to yourself until then. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Christian Wood meets the media. Is this his last/best opportunity to change the narrative? SEGMENT 2: The Lakers don't need Buddy Hield. (00:00 - 27:38) - Kevin Bowen is out on this Friday edition of Kevin & Query as he is taking an early Father's Day weekend. Marc Dycton slides over to the host seat and joins Jake Query in talking sports on The Fan. Jake begins by teasing Marc about a mega gas station that is moving in to Whitestown, Indiana.....Wally's a competitor to Buccee's. Indiana is about to have a gas station turf war with Wally's and Wawa coming to town in the near future. Sports talk begins around the Colt's OTAs wrapping up. Do players take it easy just before training camp and recover, or do you begin a personal training program to be at peak performance before training camp? Query believes that a player's position within the organization or experience within the league may determine what they choose to do as rookies would be more likely to train harder. Pacer's President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard reportedly ate with Kansas small forward/shooting guard after his workout with the team. (27:39 - 33:24) - Morning Checkdown (33:25 - 42:22) - The first segment comes to a close with return to Jonathan Taylor trade talk. Jake ponders if it is time to trade in Taylor for future pieces in the draft, or if he is someone they could keep around at a lighter pay grade given the current free agent market around running backs. The running back position is very undervalued in today's NFL. Jake could not even name the leading rusher in the NFL last season. (42:23 - 1:08:26) - Greg Rakestraw kicks off the eight o'clock hour and picks up the Jonathan Taylor conversation. Rakestraw thinks that Taylor is looking at a short-term contract no matter where he goes. No NFL team is in a position to offer running backs anything longer than three years and even that is stretching it for a back in the current NFL landscape. Taylor's best bet is likely to stay with the Colts as Indianapolis has a bit more money to throw around given their current quarterback situation. Jake wants to know where the Colts have the greatest amount of depth and wealth, Rakestraw responds with a potential surprising answer of the Tight-End position. The biggest question going into training camp is who the quarterback for the Colts will be going into week 1 of the regular season. Everything about first-round draft pick Anthony Richardson seems right for him to have the start on week 1, but when the bright lights are on will he be ready? Rakestraw winds down the conversation by talking about the IHSAA boys state finals in baseball later on tonight. (1:08:27 - 1:26:33) - From one guest into another as Dustin Dopirak of the Indy Star calls in to the program. Jake begins by issuing a formal apology for mispronouncing his name for the 30th time. The guys want to know if there is any truth to the report that Kevin Pritchard and Gradey Dick got dinner after his workout with the Pacers last night. Dopirak says it is entirely possible, especially since Dick was the only player in the workout last night. The situation might be different if it was a full 6-7 player event, but with just one player the session likely had a more personal feel. According to Dopirak, Gradey Dick is a player that could fit well within the Pacers organization especially as a wing shooter. He could be a bench player that fits into Buddy Hield's role if Hield ever were traded or did not re-sign with the team. Finally, Marc poses the ever-important question to Dopirak, who will the Pacers select with their first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft? (1:26:34 - 1:30:07) - Pat Sajak is stepping down as the host of Wheel of Fortune, who will replace him as host and will it be a former sports star? The guys are going to talk more about it at the top of the hour. (1:30:08 - 1:59:01) - Marc and Jake give their picks for sports themed replacement hosts for Wheel of Fortune after Pat Sajak steps down. What former Hoosier sports stars could potentially stand behind the wheel? How much has Jeff Saturday's interim head-coach stint with the Colts hurt his likeability? No one has heard from him since he didn't get the head coaching position, except for a tweet of him on a boat. A bit of breaking news mid segment, former Indiana Pacer Mike Dunleavy Jr. reportedly has been named the new General Manager of the Golden State Warriors. What about if Shaq or Charles Barkley hosted Wheel of Fortune?(1:59:02 - 2:05:27) - Pop Quiz (2:05:28 - 2:18:40) - Jake wants people's opinions on the best of four songs, more Wheel of Fortune host suggestions, and more Wally's vs. Buc-ee's talk. Jonathan Taylor contract negotiations to close out the episode.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

(00:00 - 22:01) - Jake and Marc get the show started with talk about the Pacers return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse tonight after the All-Star Break. Kevin is still down in Florida. Jake questions if hairsprays still are sold in aerosol cans. Alabama player Brandon Miller played last night, putting up 41 points, despite the story on how he delivered a weapon to a teammate used in a fatal shooting. Does Alabama ignoring the situation and continuing to play someone involved in legal issues put them on a slippery slope? (22:02 - 27:23) - Morning Checkdown (27:24 - 46:10) - Jake talks how certain bands are able to sell out venues but are somehow still no one's favorite band. Talk then transitions to the NFL draft and how certain players have started to shake up the draft order. Now is the time for prospects to start separating themselves about the talking points surrounding them. Jake highlights Will Levis and Anthony Richardson as players who have started to move their numbers simply through chatter amongst the league. The Colts may still be trying to push up for the #1 overall pick. The show then lays out how long it can take a player to truly get acclimated to the level of play they are up against in the NFL. (46:11 - 1:14:19) - The second hour starts off with discussion over the Indianapolis Indians partnership with the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana in order to establish relations between the team and the people their name represents. IU and Purdue are facing off in two days. Is Purdue hitting a wall after losses to Northwestern and Maryland? Indiana also looked exhausted against Michigan State. (1:14:20 - 1:31:23) - Scott Agnes of the Fieldhouse Files calls in to the show to talk about the Pacers return to action tonight against the Boston Celtics. Agnes was in Salt Lake City to watch the All-Star game and enjoyed the experience and seeing both Haliburton and Hield in the three-point contest finals. What will the All-Star weekend look like with Indianapolis next year. Is there a chance that the All-Star game will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium. Ratings were low for this years All-Star game. Agnes says that until elite stars take the game seriously the event will always be a casual watching experience. Should the All-Star game be about determining the home court advantage in the NBA Finals? Agnes thinks the Pacers are going to reset and try to get something out of each game for the rest of the season. (1:31:24 - 1:35:31) - Is Jake going to the Pacers game tonight? How it used to feel when the Celtics came to town. (1:35:34 - 1:58:50) - Zak Keefer of The Athletic and WISH TV calls the show to talk Colts and their current coaching conundrum. Keefer anticipates that Bubba Ventrone will be leaving for Cleveland and Gus Bradley will be the only coordinator to return on the 2023 season. What coaches are currently out there that the Colts can snatch up before the season starts. Bubba finds Cleveland appealing because it was a place where he excelled during his playing career. Ballard's challenge as GM is going to be on if they can take the right QB at the four spot or move up to the first pick and lose future picks. Will the Colts have to settle for signing a bridge quarterback with an offensive line that did not protect their quarterback well last season. (1:58:51 - 2:06:12) - Pop Quiz (2:06:13 - 2:22:37) - Mike DiRocco ESPN's Jacksonville Jaguars reporter closes out the show talking about Jim Bob Cooter, the Colts new offensive coordinator who is coming over from Jacksonville. DiRocco gives a brief summary of Cooter's gameplan as an offensive coordinator and what he will bring from the Jaguars that will be effective for the Colts. Cooter will have a lot to work with in Jonathan Taylor, a more skilled running back than he had to work with in Jacksonville. Trevor Lawrence establishing himself last season as well as Doug Peterson's coaching helped establish the Jaguars as the team to beat in the AFC South. The Colts are perceived in Jacksonville as a talented team that can't seem to get the quarterback situation down according to DiRocco. This offseason is their chance to really turn that situation around and change the perception.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The guys are back to discuss an update on Daniel Theis and his soon-return. Then Alex and Facci look at the All-Star Starters votes and where Haliburton ranked amongst the other East guards from the media standpoint and the players standpoint. After that, the guys go into a breakdown of McConnell, Duarte and Mathurin's play of late, and how they are finding ways to improve individually during this losing stretch and how Nesmith and Hield's struggles have hurt the team and what they miss about Haliburton so much. Alex and Facci react to the latest news from Shams Charania of The Athletic on Myles Turner's future with the Pacers and contract talks beginning as well as the latest intel on sharpshooter Buddy Hield. Would it make sense for the Pacers to trade Hield despite the awesome season he's having? What do the Pacers do with Turner if they can't reach an agreement by the Trade Deadline? The guys discuss all of that on today's show! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
