Von Anfang 1942 bis Ende 1944 wurden in Auschwitz mehr als eine Million Menschen umgebracht. Unter ihnen waren 27 Sinti aus Ravensburg, vom kleinen Kind bis zum Greis. Eine Stele an der Ravensburger St. Jodoks-Kirche erinnert an sie. Noch heute leben Sinti unweit des ehemaligen Internierungslagers „Ummenwinkel“. Das Kunstwerk der „Graue Bus“ in Weissenau gedenkt der Euthanasieopfer oder das jüdische Museum in Bad Buchau an die Vertreibung und Ermordung jüdischer Bürger im Nationalsozialismus. Zeitzeugen, Nachkommen der Opfer, Mitarbeiter des NS-Dokumentationszentrums und engagierte Bürger kommen zu Wort.

Das Parlament gedachte am Freitag anlässlich des Nationalen Holocaust-Gedenktags mit einer Kranzniederlegung im Weiheraum beim Äußeren Burgtor am Heldenplatz. Neben Vertreterinnen und Vertretern des Volksgruppenbeirates, sowie der österreichischen Politik und Geistlichkeit, war auch der geistliche Assistent der Romaseelsorge der Diözese Eisenstadt und Mitglied des Volksgruppenbeirates der Roma, Matthias Platzer dabei. Ich habe mit ihm und der Schauspielerin Mercedes Echerer über das Thema Erinnern gesprochen.

Rootless are a Glasgow-based collective of Romani and Indian musicians united by a shared mission: to honour the deep historical bond between Roma and Indian cultures through music. Jeanette Kerttu is a Romani (Kalderash) scholar and teacher of religion based in Sweden. She holds a Master's degree in Religious Studies, with a specialization in esotericism, historical magic, occult traditions, and so-called rejected knowledge. Her research focuses on Romani women's magical practices, both historically and in contemporary contexts, with a comparative perspective between Sweden and the United States. Her work examines the persistence, meaning, and functions of these practices, highlighting their role in shaping cultural identity, empowerment, and social positioning. Este modo1) Opinaban: La soledad está detrás del éxito, del fracaso, de la fama, del dinero y de la ruina. También está la soledad buena, la que nos permite conocernos a nosotros mismos y buscarle sentido a lo que hacemos. También está la soledad de no tener con quién ir de diversión, de compinches, de cuates, (como dicen los mexicanos), pero todos libramos batallas contra una cierta soledad. No tengas miedo de estar solo. El problema es “sentirse” solo. Cuando estás solo, pero teniendo convicción de quién eres, podés vivir la vida disfrutándola. “Sintiéndote” solo tu vida se reduce a buscar a alguien o algo que siempre te dé un alivio, porque ya no disfrutas del vivir, sino que necesitas y te generas necesidad de algo o alguien que te haga vivir. 2) División: Muchas veces lo que nos une en la Iglesia no es el amor a Cristo, sino lo que no nos gusta o no aceptamos. Cuando nos reunimos alrededor de principios o de doctrinas, no es una Iglesia, es un grupo o institución. Solo es Iglesia cuando nos unimos en Cristo vivo. Muchas veces no nos une el amor a Cristo, sino lo que se odia. Hay veces que nos une lo que no queremos más que a Cristo. Alguna vez alguien me dijo “Yo voy a la parroquia tal porque allí solo se celebra en latín” o “Voy a la misa cual porque es carismática y me gusta solamente ese”. Por años nos unió todo aquello en lo que nos oponemos y poco de aquello que proponemos. Todas las divisiones en la Iglesia actual existen porque más nos centramos en la doctrina o ideologías de cosas de Cristo que en Cristo. 3) Casa: Lamento decirte que allá arriba, en el Cielo, nos mezclamos todos. No es que hay un sistema de software de ingreso al Cielo para menonitas, otro para católicos y otro para otras denominaciones. Allí todos somos llamados por nuestro nombre. No es que llamarán “Vengan los católicos” y van todos juntos ahí. El perfecto amor, no tiene temor. Lo que Jesús nos muestra es que nos amó y no amó las doctrinas o conceptos, sino a cada uno de nosotros, incluso con nuestros pecados. Algo bueno está por venir.
