There's something to be said about being able to exist in both worlds....On this episode we dive into an unexpectedly enjoyable new animated romp which is in theatres tomorrow.  It's time to embrace 'Night of the Zoopocalypse'.After a meteor unleashes a virus that turns zoo animals into mutants, a mountain lion (David Harbour) and wolf (Gabbi Kosmidis) lead a team of surviving animals to stop the virus and rescue their zoo.I'll just say it....this shouldn't have worked as well as it does because even though it's from the mind of the legendary Clive Barker, it's sweet and goofy as all hell to.We had the pleasure of sitting with directors Ricardo Curtis & Rodrigo Perez-Castro to talk about how they got involved with the project, the pressures of adapting something from Clive Barker while still maintaining a family friendly sheen to it all.'Night of the Zoopocalypse' is in theatres Friday March 7th.

Whelp, looks like Clownfish TV was actually RIGHT about indie animation being the future of the animation industry. Disney vet Dana Terrace (The Owl House) has joined a long list of other professionals who are joining the indie revolution outside of the Burbank studio system. Put another nickel in the jar, please. Disney veteran Dana Terrace joins indie animation revolution with Glitch Productions, signaling a major shift away from traditional studio systems and potentially threatening the dominance of established animation powerhouses. Netflix is distributing indie content without taking rights, allowing creators to maintain full creative control and reach millions of fans, challenging the traditional studio model of content ownership and distribution. Renowned creators like Tom Ruegger, Paul Dini, and more are launching their own indie projects, suggesting a mass exodus of talent from major studios and potentially destabilizing the industry. The animation industry's recent struggles, including LA fires and economic factors, are pushing creators towards indie projects, potentially leading to a decentralization of animation production. The success of indie animation mirrors trends in the gaming industry, where AAA studios are struggling while indie games thrive, indicating a broader shift in entertainment consumption patterns. The rise of indie animation challenges the long-held belief that hit cartoons require large studio resources, potentially democratizing the industry and opening doors for new, diverse voices.

(Daniel - Indie Animation)   In this episode, I had the honour to have Danielas my guest. He shared with me his interest in making indie animation as his hobby.   Definition: Animation is a method by which still figures are manipulated to appear as moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film. Today, most animations are made with computer-generated imagery (CGI). Computer animation can be very detailed 3D animation, while 2D computer animation (which may have the look of traditional animation) can be used for stylistic reasons, low bandwidth, or faster real-time renderings. Other common animation methods apply a stop motion technique to two- and three-dimensional objects like paper cutouts, puppets, or clay figures. Wikipedia contributors. (2022, November 16).
