(Dancia - Board Games) In this episode, I had the honour of having Dancia as my guest. They shared with me their interest in board games as their hobby. Definition: Board games are tabletop games that typically use pieces. These pieces are moved or placed on a pre-marked board (playing surface) and often include elements of table, card, role-playing, and miniatures games as well. Many board games feature a competition between two or more players. To show a few examples: in checkers (British English name 'draughts'), a player wins by capturing all opposing pieces, while Eurogames often end with a calculation of final scores. Pandemic is a cooperative game where players all win or lose as a team, and peg solitaire is a puzzle for one person.Wikipedia contributors. (2024, May 14). Board game. Definition: Oil painting is a painting method involving the procedure of painting with pigments with a medium of drying oil as the binder. The advantages of oil for painting images include "greater flexibility, richer and denser colour, the use of layers, and a wider range from light to dark". But the process is slower, especially when one layer of paint needs to be allowed to dry before another is applied. Wikipedia contributors. (2024, February 13). Oil painting. (Kalilo - Song Writer) In this episode, I had the honour of having Edward as my guest. He shared with me his interest in being song writer as his hobby. Definition: A songwriter is a musician who professionally composes musical compositions or writes lyrics for songs, or both. The writer of the music for a song can be called a composer, although this term tends to be used mainly in the classical music genre and film scoring. A songwriter who mainly writes the lyrics for a song is referred to as a lyricist. The pressure from the music industry to produce popular hits means that song writing is often an activity for which the tasks are distributed among a number of people. For example, a songwriter who excels at writing lyrics might be paired with a songwriter with the task of creating original melodies. Pop songs may be composed by group members from the band or by staff writers – songwriters directly employed by music publishers. Some songwriters serve as their own music publishers, while others have external publishers. Wikipedia contributors. (2023, August 19). Songwriter. In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Hello everyone, So my wife and I are expecting our second child soon and running a podcast while raising 2 children might be a little challenging to release new episodes every week as I did for the last 4 years. The good news is that the show is not ending, I'm just going to be releasing a new episode at the end of every month. So after this week's episode (end of August), the next one will be released at the end of September and then the next one at the end of the following month and so forth. Eventually, I would like to get back to once a week but that will be happening later on in the future. My family is very important to me and I can not wait to spend more time with them and try out any hobby my children pick up. Since this is a one-man show (recording, producing, editing and marketing) I want to make sure I provide you all with quality content and for now it will be best if I release once a month (for now). I want to say thank you for all the support after all these years! I've truly loved this journey and can not wait to learn more about all your hobbies. With this being said, by all means, feel free to reach out to me if you want to come to share your hobby :) Thank you, Time For Your Hobby links: Website: Time For Your Hobby website (click to find Apple, Spotify, Google and more) Merch: TFYHpodcast Instagram: @timeforyourhobby Twitter: @tfyhpodcast Podchaser: Time For Your Hobby Patreon: Timeforyourhobby Email: timeforyourhobby@gmail.com If you like this episode and think it can be helpful to someone you are more than welcome to share it and leave a review. Definition: Lampworking is a type of glasswork in which a torch or lamp is used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, as the modern practice no longer uses oil-fueled lamps. Although lack of a precise definition for lampworking makes it difficult to determine when this technique was first developed, the earliest verifiable lampworked glass is probably a collection of beads thought to date to the fifth century BC. The name is derived from the French term crochet, meaning 'small hook'. Hooks can be made from a variety of materials, such as metal, wood, bamboo, or plastic. The key difference between crochet and knitting, beyond the implements used for their production, is that each stitch in crochet is completed before the next one is begun, while knitting keeps many stitches open at a time.
