Un épisode spécial qui nous ramène il y a plus de 2 ans lors de l'enregistrement de l'épisode pilote du podcast. Evan chats with David while catching a Tentacool. David and Evan are back for a regularly scheduled Ani-Gamers Podcast to talk about Metal Gear Solid (both 4 and 5), Mob Psycho 100, and Space Patrol Luluco, but more importantly: the whole world has gone crazy for Pokémon Go and our hosts are no exception. Topics include: sakuga/cours sympathizers, real-life Team Rocket, and Studio Trigger performance art. Also featuring David’s nephew making a lot of noise in the background. I did my best to mask a lot of the background noise, but David’s audio is still a little wonky sometimes. David just finished Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Evan is currently playing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Both hosts are playing way too much Pokémon Go. Evan and David finished Space Patrol Luluco. They also discuss more projects from Studio TRIGGER, including Inferno Cop, Little Witch Academia, Sex & Violence with Machspeed, Kill la Kill, and Kiznaiver. Evan is watching Mob Psycho 100 in the summer anime season. Twitter: Ani-Gamers, Evan, David Evan hosts the Crunchycast podcast on Crunchyroll and writes for Otaku USA Magazine. What's good? News- -Berserk is getting another video game in the style of a Dynasty Warriors spinoff -Dragon Ball Z, Death Note, and One Piece are all being transformed into attractions at Universal Studios Japan. The attractions will open on July 1st and stick around until September 4th . -Crunchyroll is going to Simulcast ReLIFE, an anime about a 27 year old NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) who is given a drug which makes him look younger in order to be sent back to High School. -New episodes of Inferno Cop could come in the future! A twitter user who avidly posts about the studio Trigger replied to user @nm2325 who asked “yo, is trigger gonna release the inferno cop new episodes? Crossover with LWA and the other one” to which @Trigger_Tattun explained “Sounds like we will release new episodes of Inferno Cop in the future. Not sure if it'll be another cross over though.” Swords- Sword Art Online- (A-1 Pictures- Erased, Your Lie in April, Anohana) Elucidator is Kirito's primary weapon in Sword Art Online. This sword is a demonic monster drop from a boss on the 50th Floor that Kirito wields along with Dark Repulser. Dark Repulsor was a one-handed long sword, created by Lisbeth for Kirito out of a Crystallite Ingot, which was obtained from a special quest. Whenever Kirito used the Dual Blades skill, he wielded it alongside Elucidator. This weapon was destroyed during the fight with Kayaba Akihiko on the 75th Floor. Wind Fleuret is a rapier that was Asuna’s primary weapon in Sword Art Online, on the lower floors of Aincrad. It was a monster drop, obtained after following Kirito's battle advice, and replaced her store- bought Iron Rapier. Samurai Champloo- (Manglobe- Ergo Proxy, Deadman Wonderland, Gangsta) Kill La Kill! (Trigger- Little Witch Academia, Space Patrol Luluco, Inferno Cop, Kiznaiver) Satsuki is a master swordsman who wields the Bakuzan, a black-bladed katana in a white sheath with an edge that is claimed to be keener than Ryūko's Scissor Blade. Its strength is so great that one slash is enough to damage a transformed Kamui (clothes made entirely of life fibers). While durable enough to clash with Ryūko's Scissor Blade on their multiple battles, the Bakuzan was eventually broken when clashing against Ragyō's fist. The shards are eventually reforged into Bakuzan Gako and Bakuzan Kōryu, a long blade and short blade respectively. Their effect is the same as the twin Scissor Blades, being capable of damaging Life Fibers beyond their regenerative powers. Satsuki's skill with these blades is extensive and adaptable, as she has gone toe-to- toe against various other sword wielding opponents. Durarara! (Brain's Base- Natsume's Book of Friends 4, Baccano!) Saika also known by some characters in the series as "the Slasher", is a demonic blade notable for its obsessive love of humanity and its ability to possess humans by cutting them and causing them pain. It is currently in the possession of Anri Sonohara. Saika is an ancient, powerful entity that manifests itself as a cursed Japanese sword. It has an extreme love for humanity, and, like how humans might express their love by hugging or kissing, Saika expresses its love by cutting and possessing people. Its ultimate goal is to take over all of humanity. Saika lives within the body of its owner and communicates its thoughts through a voice in their head. It is always talking about how it loves humans, how it wants to cut them, and even tells its owner what it wants them to do. The constant nature of this voice is enough to drive most normal people insane, slowly taking them over and turning them into crazed slaves. When under Saika's influence, a person's eyes glow red, often with a crazed, wide-eyed look. It is also possible that humans get a boost to their strength and fighting abilities when possessed. Homework Afro Samurai- (Gonzo- Welcome to the N.H.K., Trinity Blood, Last Exile) Mushishi- (Artland- Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Komori-san Can't Decline!, Reborn!) Shortly before The Other Side was set to record its episode on Inferno Cop, Cody Baier found himself surprised with an early Christmas present, via Twitter. Another anime podcast got its jimmies rustled over Cody and his antics. This isn’t the first time this has happened, but this was special. From the melodramatic tone, to the content of the site hosting said podcast, to a King Leonidas-esque call to arms for all fans of lolicon and moe to rise up against him, what Cody found was a trainwreck the likes of which he thought only existed in his derisive hypotheticals about the anime fandom. To see this much of it all, and all of it very, very real, was simply too much, and an early podcast recording was called. Time zones being what they are, Max missed out… But one can’t spend an entire podcast eyeballing a trainwreck, so following that excursion into rubbernecking, the boys at The Other Side take a look at one of the greatest things ever to come out of Japan: INFERNO COP! Prepare for a truckload of gushing, and a whole lot of giggling, as The Other Side goes over an anime that no human being has any excuse not to watch!
As part of the seemingly endless cycle of revenge that has dominated Season 3 of The Other Side, the boys subjected themselves to an anime as horrifying as the abominations it desecrates. Where H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic horrors have been reduced to body pillow bait. A piece of garbage so heinous it left The Other Side in a depression from which they won’t escape for a long time. Also a recent twitter feud is discussed (and by discussed, we mean “reveled in”), Max shares his thoughts on Inferno Cop, and Cody shares his discovery of a promising anime series that hopefully won’t burn him like so many have in the past…!

Evan and Victoria return to the orange couch to catch up on the biggest anime news out of Hollywood, New York Comic Con, and White Base. Show Notes Evan and Victoria are excited about the confirmation of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable's anime adaptation. Victoria is bummed that Akiko Higashimura's Himozairu manga about men seeking to be better househusbands was suspended due to complaints from men. Fans held a "Naruto Pride Parade" (as Victoria calls it) at New York Comic Con Ron Howard and Imagine Entertainment are turning Tiger & Bunny into a live-action movie! Both Evan and Victoria are enjoying the slow burn of The Perfect Insider. One-Punch Man is a bit like Inferno Cop, so naturally Evan is in love with it. RWBY Volume 3 just launched on Crunchyroll, and Victoria is impressed with the improved animation. You can find more episode of Crunchycast on Crunchyroll, iTunes, Stitcher Radio, and our Libsyn page. The Crunchycast is hosted by Victoria Holden and Evan Minto and produced by Miles Thomas and Bill Zoeker. If you have any questions for our hosts, you can reach us at crunchycast@crunchyroll.com, or on Twitter at @SailorBee and @VamptVo respectively. The opening and ending music in CrunchyCast are produced by Noah Hafford, who can be found at his SoundCloud.

It’s been three months, but we’re back! This time Evan and David talk about anime that’s just old enough that you no longer care enough to be angry about it and video games so old you don’t even remember them anymore. Topics include Super Sonico, Nidhogg, Mother (the original, not the good one or the other good one), Cardcaptor Sakura, Inside Mari, being a tourist in Japan, being a BAD tourist in Japan, Japanese food, and oddly-specific otaku stores. We’re not putting timecodes in the show notes anymore starting with this episode because it takes too long and you guys probably don’t even care about it anyway. If you’re angry about this development, click that “Continue Reading” link to read the new show notes and leave us a hate-filled comment! Those are our favorite kind! DIRECT DOWNLOAD – RSS Feed – iTunes – Send us Feedback! – More episodes (Runtime: 1 hour, 18 minutes) Opening/Ending Song: “Kill Me” by Lame Drivers Super Sonico is an anime about Nitroplus’s mascot character. A few days after Evan said nobody would license it and David said Sentai would… Sentai actually licensed it. (Watch it on Crunchyroll) Nidhogg is a 1-v-1 fencing football game or something like that. (Get it on Steam or the official site) Mother is an weird old NES JRPG. The sequel is Mother 2, better known in English as Earthbound. (You can’t get Mother legally in English, but you can get Earthbound on the Wii U Virtual Console) Cardcaptor Sakura is a famous magical girl manga series by superstar manga artists CLAMP. (Buy it on Amazon or RightStuf) Inside Mari is a creepy bodyswap manga by Flowers of Evil author Shuzo Oshimi (Read it on Crunchyroll) Japan is a country with some pretty cool stuff in it. We both visited it and talked way too much about it. The otaku meccas we discussed were Akihabara (just south of Ueno) and Nakano Broadway (just west of Shinjuku). The pirate-themed shop in Nakano Broadway that we talk about is called Bambool (here’s the official listing on the Nakano Broadway site). It turns out they’re not strictly pirate-themed, so I guess Evan was mistaken. The indie manga shop is Taco Che. Here’s the official site (in Japanese) and Nakano Broadway’s listing for it. For more info on otaku stuff to do in Japan Evan highly recommends Cruising the Anime City: An Otaku Guide to Neo Tokyo, by Patrick Macias (Otaku USA and Crunchyroll News Editor-in-Chief) Otaku USA Magazine: Evan and Ink wrote stuff for the new issue (cover is Attack on Titan). Evan did a review of .hack//Quantum (anime) and Wolfsmund (manga), and Ink did features on Beyond the Boundary, Kamisama Kiss, and (his favorite) Chihayafuru, as well as a review of the ongoing series Samurai Flamenco. Read more stuff from Ink at Fandom Post. He just did a pretty great Paranoia Agent writeup recently. Twitter: Ani-Gamers, Evan, David We didn’t mention it in the show, but we’re going to Genericon in Troy, NY again this year! Evan, Ink, and David will be there alongside Ed Chavez and possibly a couple other online anime folks.
