So, how about that Aaron Rodgers debut? Oof. Getting out of the Mets game and finding out that's how it went… a strange time.According to data from Stathead, there are 17 non-quarterbacks who have thrown more passes for the Jets than Rodgers' single attempt before getting hurt. And here they are!12: Tom Tupa (punter, 1999-2001)7: Dick Christy (halfback, 1961-63); Brad Smith (wide receiver, 2006-10)4: Jeremy Kerley (wide receiver, 2011-17); Jim Turner (kicker, 1964-70)3: Josh Cribbs (wide receiver, 2013); Matt Snell (fullback, 1964-72); Al Toon (wide receiver, 1985-92)2: Louie Aguiar (punter, 1991-93); Richie Anderson (fullback, 1993-2002); Leon Johnson (running back, 1997-2000); LaMont Jordan (running back, 2001-04); Braden Mann (punter, 2020-22); Curtis Martin (running back, 1998-2005); Steve O'Neal (punter, 1969-72); Bilal Powell (running back, 2011-19); Chuck Ramsey (punter, 1977-84)Aguiar, Anderson, Christy, Johnson, and Jordan were unable to register a completion, with Aguiar, Johnson, and Jordan all getting picked off once. Snell also threw an interception, the only other one of this group to do so. Only three of these players threw for touchdowns: Smith, the former Mizzou quarterback, had one, while Tupa hurled two TD passes and both of Martin's attempts turned into six points.Just the other day, Bill Belichick rememberred Tupa's exploits from Cleveland, but he was very much there on the Jets sideline the day that the punter saved the day with his two TD passes. Anthony Wootton is joined by special guest Jeremy Kerley. The former wide receiver played for the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills. He talks about the trip to London with the Jets in 2015 (when they brought all that toilet paper). Anthony asks him about playing with Colin Kaerpernick during the 2016 season, the year when the quarterback began his protest against police brutality. Plus, we hear why Joe Staley is such a legend on and off the field.

The Los Angeles Chargers torched the Buffalo Bills, so bad head coach Sean McDermott took over defensive play calling after halftime. Phillip Rivers had a classic performance even finding Antonio Gates for good times sake. The vibe at One Bills Drive during the game was pretty unflattering and had people leaving a home opener faster than games in recent memory. Vontae Davis retired at halftime; is there something funky going within the organization? Jeremy Kerley being released was reset with Mike Smith’s opinion interjected, Host David Palermo mentions possibly could be an under the radar situation of more disorganization of “the process.” Josh Allen was super fun to watch, kept our eyes glued for another play; didn’t disappoint and had expected growing pains. The Buffalo Bills have just released Jeremy Kerley from the team, saturday afternoon before a home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. Host David Palermo chimes in with his thoughts, along with resetting the vibe for Facebook Live video "Recipe for a Win." If LeSean Mccoy is featured, Josh Allen Plays Smart, and the defense proves Ravens opener a fluke, Bills have a fair shot to win season home opener versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Finally it's time to look at the Buffalo Bills chess pieces and predict will all fit together for the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. There is no better time than now in sports where optimism runs high, and new coaching schemes take effect, hopefully building on them for a sustainable future. This year Brian Daboll is Buffalo's new offensive coordinator, reports are the offense looks super creative. There's a few players that have been quiet during training camp, yet maybe by design. David Palermo talks through hypothetical uses of Jeremy Kerley, Chris Ivory and Andre Holmes. Prior to previewing the Bufalo Bills vs. the Baltimore Ravens; Mike "Fantasy" Smitty comes back, drilling host David Palermo on winning his bet of Nathan Peterman starting the season over Josh Allen. After waiting for a quarterback late in a 16 team money fantasy draft, Dave sniped Nathan Peterman to his roster second last round, and Mike was not too happy about it not having a qb drafted yet. The yelling continued as the debate of who wide receiver two will be; Zay Jones or Jeremy Kerley. With Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith being suspended for the first four games, will the Buffalo Bills be capable of exploiting this loss? Defensively the Bills look to build off of last year, Mike Smith explains how solid coaching from head coach Sean McDermott lead the Bills to many defensive turnovers. Offensively Brian Daboll will be exciting to watch, and settle many questions of how the offense will come together. There was plenty of news on Monday regarding the Jets' upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and we discuss it on the podcast today. The league officially announced the suspension of Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley. There were reports last week that a suspension was coming. The Jets did not deny those reports, but Kerley was able to suit up for Thursday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Now the four game suspension is official. The first game Kerley misses will be Sunday against Tampa Bay. What does this mean for the Jets. With one receiver out, it is an opportunity for other players to step up.The Jets probably were not happy about losing Kerley, but Tampa Bay had a worse Monday. Jameis Winston is out of the game against the Jets. Tampa Bay decided to shut down their franchise quarterback, who has been dealing with injury concerns. The Bucs also saw their top receiver Mike Evans suspended for an incident in Sunday's game against New Orleans. That means old friend Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Sunday possibly without Evans depending on a potential appeal. We discuss it. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In today's podcast, Pete and Evan discuss the latest in New York sports. We start with the Giants, and how it looks like Eli Apple will be ready for the opener. Can the same be said for Odell Beckham? Next, we discuss the benefit (or lack thereof) of signing Jeremy Kerley to the receiving core for the Jets. What can he bring to the table? We then move to hockey, and discuss the Rangers' chances this upcoming season. With John Tavares refusing to sign a long-term extension with the Islanders until he's convinced they're moving in the right direction, what are the chances he's playing crosstown in 2018? Speaking of New York drama, Carmelo Anthony has asked to be traded to the Rockets, and it's rumored that Jabari Parker would have been sent to the Knicks by Milwaukee had the three-team trade been approved. It’s may be the offseason, but the San Francisco 49ers’ general manager and head coach tandem of John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have been busy making moves. They signed defensive back K’Waun Williams and defensive tackle Earl Mitchell, while re-signing wide receiver Jeremy Kerley to a three-year deal. In a move that was both surprising and not, the Niners have released wide receiver Torrey Smith, after two lackluster years in two very lackluster offenses. But still, it makes a lot of sense. They have also released safety Antoine Bethea. Onward and upward we go. With the free agency period officially beginning on Thursday and the draft less than two months away, the 49ers are in need of a quarterback, wide receivers, linebackers, and basically everything else. Therefore, we can expect many more moves to come. On this week’s Talking Touchdown’s podcast, Steph(http://www.twitter.com/SoCaliSteph) and I (http://www.twitter.com/49ersfangirl)are joined by Niners Wire of the USA Today Sports Media Group’s Chris Biderman to talk about the next couple months and how we see them playing out for San Francisco. We go over a variety of subjects, including: - Kirk Cousins and the pros and cons of trading for him now or waiting to sign him as a free agent next year - Other potential options at quarterback - Free agent wide receivers Alshon Jeffery, Terelle Pryor, and Pierre Garçon, and which of them we think make the most sense in the red and gold - Who we think the Niners will draft with the #2 pick - What kind of splash we expect the 49ers to make during free agency - And, Lynch and Shanahan and why we like what we’ve seen from them so far. Thanks for reading and listening! Also, make sure to follow me on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/49ersfangirl) and Instagram (http://www.instagram.com/49ersfangirl) @49ersfangirl.
