In today's episode, I sit down with former NFL executive and ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum. From his years leading the Jets and Dolphins, Mike shares how he managed the pressure of decisions worth hundreds of millions and why character always determined the ceiling for a player's success. He reflects on lessons from Curtis Martin, the importance of consistency, and why small daily efforts stack into game-changing results. We also talk about building lasting relationships, staying motivated after failure, and what young athletes should know if they're serious about the NFL. Mike's journey is a reminder that talent sets the floor, but mindset and preparation raise the ceiling.

Gio ran into Saquon Barkley at a golf course yesterday. He just said hello and didn't ‘chat him up'. Boomer gifts Gio with a Ghost brand golf bag. Gio said he was golfing with someone who was a ‘brain dead loser'. Boomer said Gio is becoming a real golfer because he gets annoyed at other golfers now. A caller said he quit golf ‘after taking a goose's head off'. A caller wondered about quarterback Bo Nix in the draft and that got us talking about Daniel Jones and the Giants future at QB. Jerry returns for an update and Boomer gives him a framed photo from the golf course when they played in Vegas. Jerry starts with the Knicks beating the Pistons with help from the refs ‘no call'. As you might imagine, the Pistons head coach was pissed. Erin Andrews tells a story of a Bucs player being nasty to her back in the day and John Lynch and Derrick Brooks came to her defense. Al has a few newspaper clippings from his days covering the Bucs and has a picture of himself on the sideline as Wayne Chrebet caught a pass from Curtis Martin. In the final segment of the hour, we replayed a PSA we heard about getting a nose spray in case someone overdoses in your house.
Hour 1 The Knicks are hanging on by a thread and had to be bailed out last night against the lowly Pistons. We also have a norovirus update: Aly, our makeup artist, is out today with it. She was touching our faces yesterday so we are probably in the incubation period. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the controversial call at the end of the Knicks game. The Pistons head coach called it the absolute worst call of the season, a no call. Bills player Dion Dawkins was on Vlad TV and called Micheal Clemons a ‘bitch boy'. In the final segment of the hour, it's NFL combine week so Boomer is excited to hear about hand measurements. Caleb Williams will not be there throwing. Gio said it sounds like it's not over yet in Chicago with Justin Fields. Boomer insists it's over and they are taking Williams. Boomer said Williams needs to go there as the Bears have assets and a great defense and are going to be good. Hour 2 Gio ran into Saquon Barkley at a golf course yesterday. Hour 3 After a Duke player was injured over the weekend, the topic of storming the court is in the news. Boomer talked about a time at Maryland when the fans stormed the field. We somehow got on people being nervous about ‘the grid' going down at some point. We talked about fans running on the field in baseball after Hank Aaron's HR. Eddie ran on the field at Shea Stadium, stole some grass, and planted it in his backyard. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Knicks beating the Pistons thanks to a ‘no call' by the refs. Jerry has audio from around MLB spring training camps. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about LeBron James' son, Bronny and his NBA future. We also talked about other kids of legendary athletes who try to follow in their father's footsteps. Hour 4 Tomorrow Gio and Al will be bringing their dogs into the studio thanks to the Farmer's Dog. Gio is worried how his dog will behave at the station. We took a call from a flight attendant who thanked Boomer for reminding people to tip. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about our dogs coming in to work tomorrow and the file the company has on Eddie for things he's done wrong in the past (like bringing his dog in). Jerry starts with audio from last night's Knicks win with help from a ‘no call' by the refs. Bills player Dion Dawkins was on Vlad TV and called Micheal Clemons a ‘bitch boy'.The Moment of The Day involves Gio seeing Saquon Barkley at the golf course and Gio's golf partner was drooling all over him. In the final segment of the show, a caller wonders about Joe Burrow's wrist.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Ryan Oakes over Zoom video!Rising alt/hip hop artist Ryan Oakes recently released his debut album WAKE UP via Position Music, and he shared the last single prior to release. Teaming with AViVA, Oakes drops “GROUND ZERO” where he tears through bars with tenacity, only for the chorus to ponder, “Am I losing my mind?”“You can be your own worst enemy,” Ryan says. “You can be super self-destructive, slow your own soul down, and get in your own way if you think too much. It's a moral battle with yourself.”AViVA shares, “In ‘GROUND ZERO' I wanted to highlight the journey it takes to get to a place of resilience and coming back to the line, again and again, no matter the knockbacks.”The video for “GROUND ZERO” is the final chapter of a story Ryan has been telling via his music and accompanying visuals over the course of the last several months. “We wanted to go above and beyond with the visuals for this album. We wanted to set a new standard, instead of a bunch of individual videos, they ended up being one large cohesive video split into clips that tells a story,” he explains. “It follows me through Slumberland which is a clothing brand I've built alongside my music, where all my nightmares come true. I “WAKE UP” in a lab and finally escape only to come home to find my psychotic girlfriend has turned into a robot killing machine. Upon making my escape, she jumps in the car with me (which is the “GROUND ZERO” video) and I drive us off of a cliff — inevitably killing us both, essentially ending the loop where I “WAKE UP” and start the entire thing over again.”GROUND ZERO Music Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrFsFVeJO8YIn support of WAKE UP, Oakes will be embarking on his first-ever headline tour. The “WAKE UP” dates kicked off May 14 in Phoenix, AZ and concludes on June 2 in Los Angeles, CA with a show at the Peppermint Club. The tour makes stops in, among other markets, Nashville, TN, Chicago, IL and in Brooklyn for a show at Baby's All Right on May 24. Layto and Cherie Amour will support on select dates. In addition, Oakes is also confirmed for the Welcome To Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, FL on Friday, May 19, the Louder Than Life Festival September 21 - 24 in Louisville, KY, as well as the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA on October 8. Over the past ten years and across over 250 tracks, Ryan has built an empire in true DIY fashion with no label or team behind him. Along the way he cemented himself in the alternative and rap music zeitgeist through his distinct brand of left-of-center punk and biting alt/hip hop. Now signed to Position Music and working with a number of producers including Zach Jones, Jayden Seeley, Matty Beats and Curtis Martin, Oakes is ready to release WAKE UP, his first LP. Ryan has been sharing hints of what is to come on WAKE UP via the release of several singles that fans and press alike have latched onto as they have garnered over 4 million streams collectively. They include “RUINED (with Ekoh), DOWN, which tells the story of Oakes' personal mental health journey, “WAKE UP,” “HEAVYWEIGHT" with alt rock phenom Loveless, and his collab with Epitaph Records' Magnolia Park, “WHITE FLAG,” a trap rap-meets-punk explosion, and last month's piano-laden “SPACESHIP” with Abigail Osborn. The farm bill, which Congress renews every few years, is a comprehensive bill that normally includes farming subsidies, funding for food assistance programs, conservation initiatives, and rural development funding, among other things. The last farm bill passed in 2018 and many of its initiatives expire in 2023. For domestic food assistance programs, the USCCB urged lawmakers to strengthen the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by updating its calculations to reflect rising food prices. It also asked Congress to update medical deductions, increase benefits for households with young children, and end the cap on the Excess Shelter Deduction. The letter urged lawmakers to increase access to fresh fruit and vegetables at food banks and other programs. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/254190/us-bishops-urge-passage-of-farm-bill-citing-needs-of-poorest-families Today, the Church celebrates Saint Louis-Marie de Monfort, a 17th century saint who is revered for his intense devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: At the Supreme Court the justices are deciding whether to limit access to a widely used abortion pill. On Wednesday, Justice Samuel Alito delayed a ruling until today. Pro-life and pro-abortion supporters continue to gather on the steps of the Supreme Court, waiting for a ruling. The Biden Administration has emphasized it's prepared for any outcome the High Court may issue. It is prepared for a long legal fight if necessary. The administration has been a strong supporter of mifepristone, which was approved back in 2000 by the FDA. Texas State Director and National Legislative Advisor for the pro-life group Human Coalition, Chelsey Youman, joins to discuss what this ruling could mean for the pro-life movement and how this could compare with the overturning of Roe v Wade. Meanwhile, hundreds of young Catholics are in Texas this weekend attending the 2023 Young Catholic Professionals Conference. Chief operating officer of Young Catholic Professionals, Peter Blute, joins to tell us more about the conference and what attendees can expect from the 3 day event. Finally this evening, FOCUS, Fellowship of Catholic University Students, is turning 25 years old. Founder and CEO, Curtis Martin, joins to tell us more about FOCUS, how many missionaries they have and how many students they have helped along the way, as FOCUS has helped several hundred people enter religious life.
