You need sun protection as much as you need vitamin D. But can you have both, without skin damage or nutritional deficiency? Vitamin D is essential for our well-being, promoting bone growth and supporting a robust immune system. Deficiency in this vital nutrient can lead to a host of health issues, including osteoporosis and a weakened immune response. While our skin produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, many people believe that using sunscreen and other forms of sun protection can lead to vitamin D deficiency. As a result, they often resort to unprotected sun exposure to obtain adequate levels of the vitamin. However, this approach can expose them to a new set of serious health risks. For the first episode of the much-awaited comeback of the Dermhealth.Co Podcast powered by Digital Health Co, we are talking about vitamin D, sunscreen and everything in between with Mathew Collett, CEO of Solar-D Derma-Tech. Mathew shares his knowledge on the importance of balancing sun protection and vitamin D production. He explains how Solar-D technology creates sunscreens that allow the skin to produce vitamin D while still providing broad-spectrum protection. Key points covered in the episode: Vitamin D is actually a steroid hormone produced by the body when exposed to UVB light from the sun. It plays a crucial role in strengthening cells and boosting the immune system. Traditional sunscreens can inhibit vitamin D production by up to 99%, contributing to widespread vitamin D deficiency. Practitioners should educate clients on the importance of sensible sun exposure and recommend sunscreens that promote vitamin D production while still offering adequate protection. Solar-D's technology can be incorporated into various skincare products, including tinted moisturisers, face creams, and haircare products, making it a game-changer in the skincare industry. What's the difference between spiritual warfare and just...life? In today's episode of the Sisterhood & Co Podcast, Harriet Blevins talks about how to discern what is true spiritual warfare and how we as Christians defeat the enemy and gain victory in our lives!
Have you given too much power to the enemy in your life? Maybe you didn't even know you had an enemy or you don't know who the enemy in your life is (and newsflash: it's not people!) On today's episode of the Sisterhood & Co Podcast, we continue to dive into our series on Spiritual Warfare by discovering what the battle is and what it means to train for the right battle in our life.
Having learned that John H. Watson is doing his own podcast about life with Sherlock Holmes, we've devoted a special triple-length episode to fanning on about Watson's work. Go listen to "Sherlock & Co." wherever podcasts are downloaded, then come back and hear Madeline, Heather, and Brad going on about how great it is. Back to our regular show next week, but this week it's all about "Sherlock & Co." because . . . well, give it a listen and you'll see why we're excited!
For the next series on the Sisterhood & Co Podcast, we will be diving into Spiritual Warfare. Today's episode kicks off with Harriet Blevins's Sunday morning message "What you doing here?"

We LOVE answering your questions! Today's episode comes from a listener who reached out with a question about a client they work with.“He's 2 years old. Definitely has a large sensory cup. He is extremely rough and tumble. This kid has face planted on concrete and will get up and keep running. I tried a weighted vest on him but he ripped it off right away. I've informed mom about heavy work at home. Our sessions usually look like me chasing him around. Any tips / strategies for kids like him?”We brainstormed and came up with some ideas on how to incorporate his preferred sensory activities (like running) into structured 2 step obstacle courses. We talked about meeting his sensory needs, using a visual schedule, and MORE!We'd love to answer your questions on the podcast! Not only is it a way for us, the therapists, to keep track of what we're doing and why, as well as to show that our clients are making progress, but it's also important for insurance purposes. You know the saying “work smarter, not harder”?You can kind of apply that to writing documentation - write smarter, not longer!JOIN the January PRIMITIVE REFLEX 30 Day Challenge - Starts Jan. 1st, 2023!Looking for more in-depth help? Sadie Gannett is a nurse and still holds her license, but she does not currently work in the hospital setting. While working in the hospital (mainly ER), Sadie had a lot of questions and saw a lot of issues with our medical system. She began speaking out about some of them on her social media and quickly grew a following. “Western Medicine is really good at emergency medicine and critical care but horrible at preventative care.” She talks a lot about that! Sadie's hope is to be a bit of a bridge between western medicine when needed and a more holistic approach.
