He emphasizes the importance of remaining in conversation with God and how this discipline can be revolutionary, impacting various facets of life, including personal growth, season changes, and achieving unimagined successes. "The Lord says, 'I am opening up a door that no one can close.' So these opportunities that change your trajectory all circle back around to our prayer life again," said Mazzapica. What would happen if you were dying of thirst, and all that was available was saltwater? Well...you'd still be dying of thirst. Spiritually speaking, this is often our predicament. We attempt to quench our souls with things that do not satisfy, such as comfort, control, and the approval of others. We drink from broken wells, revealing our broken worship in need of repair. But there is hope. We'll discover how a Samaritan woman not only recognized her deepest need but quenched her deepest thirst when she encountered the only One worthy of our worship—Christ, the Living Water.
Jesus invites us to be with him, to become like him, and to do what he did. The late Dallas Willard used to say that we who follow Jesus are to live our lives as Jesus would live them, if he were us. In this miniseries, Practicing the Way of Jesus, we are introducing an ECC Rule of Life and inviting us all to take the next step in our journey of becoming more like Christ in every way. We're glad you can join us!
You were made for worship. It is who you are. Worship is part of your DNA and one of the primary motivations of your life. Every single one of us worships someone or something, even if you don't consider yourself religious or spiritual. Worship happens anytime we take a good thing God has given us and make it the ultimate thing. It could be a relationship, romance, sex, money, power, control, a child, a marriage, happiness, it could be anything. The problem is that none of those things are reliable. Worship sex, money, or control, and you will always need more. Worship a relationship or a person, and they will disappoint you, betray you, or let you down. Worship happiness, and it will always elude you. Think about it: The people who are often the most unhappy are those who think the most about their happiness! This is why it becomes so important to worship that which can sustain us, both in this life and the next. In the case of the magi, it is clear they had one thing on their minds as they made their journey to Jesus: Worship. They cancelled at least three months of their life for the privilege to bow down before Him. One of the fascinating facts of the Christmas story is that almost no one was actually home that first Christmas. The angels traveled from their home to announce the birth of Jesus, Joseph and Mary left their home in Nazareth to go to Bethlehem, and then you have the travelers we will be talking about this weekend. Like them, each of us makes a journey to Jesus. And at the end of that journey, what is left is worship.
Embracing and understanding our spiritual gifts is the key to fulfilling our purpose. In this episode, Christina Perera sits down with Andy Reese to dive into his book, The Spiritual Gifts Blueprint: God's Design for Your Gifts, Talents, and Purpose. Andy is the founder and president of Freedom Prayer, bringing over 45 years of Christian ministry and leadership experience. Together, they explore the intricate structure of the spirit world and how understanding our spiritual gifts can propel us into fulfilling our purposes. Andy unpacks the four components of the spirit world: varieties of gifts, ministries, energizing, and manifestations of the spirit. He also shares two insightful questions to guide individuals in uncovering their spiritual gifts and encourages us to embrace our unique gifts and walk in the path God has prepared for us. "Your gift is your function in the body. It's like a river flowing out of you,” said Reese. During the time of Jesus, the act of worshiping God was associated with a designated location, leading to disagreements among various groups regarding its precise identity. Jesus, however, resolved these disputes by providing insights into the essence of genuine worship and specifying its rightful place. To find more "Uncensored Christian" content including Video versions of the podcast, Social Media links, and more use the Link down below!https://lnk.bio/dantewIf you would like to support this podcast financially you can give online by clicking here https://paypal.me/uchristianpod?locale.x=en_US. Jesus sees and values those who feel unknown or on the fringes. Paige Allen is an executive pastor at Church on the Rock in Lubbock, Texas, and the author of the book He Knows Your Name: How Seven Nameless Women of the Bible Reveal Christ's Love for You. Paige Allen joins Christina Pereira on the Revealing Jesus podcast to discuss her book "He Knows Your Name." Church, together we are powerful! We are created as one body with Christ Jesus as the head. Don't miss this life-changing conversation with Skot Welch founder of Global Bridge Builders, an internationally respected diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting firm. He is also the author of Unfractured: A Christ-Centered Action Plan for Cultural Change. We discuss the power of unity and the importance of exalting Jesus in all aspects of our lives. Together we explore the need for a new language that centers around Christ and the recognition that our identities should be grounded in Him. Maturity is necessary for unity, and Christians are to lead the conversation on unity and revival. Skot also addresses the issue of idolatry and the importance of honoring and valuing the diversity within the body of Christ. “We have to give [Christ] lordship, and not our denominations or political parties or things like that. Those things cannot be central to my identity. They are fundamental to my identity. But Christ is at the center, which is Christocentric,” said Welch. In whom should we look to worship and be transformed?
2 Timothy 3:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Genesis 22:4-6 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.” So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. John 4:23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Contact us at: thewavecolumbus@gmail.com, or www.thewavecolumbus.com

Steve asks the timeless question, would Jesus worship Bill Gates?
The Portage church of Christ is a group of pre-denominational Christians that are striving to serve the Lord together. Our goal is to please God, and we believe that the best way to do that is to follow the pattern that was established by the churches in the first century and revealed in the New Testament. We have no creed or doctrine except the Bible and we follow the Bible only. We strive for unity in the teaching of New Testament doctrine. Our congregation is not part of, or subject to, any larger man-made religious organization. We are a completely autonomous congregation. We are locally governed, just as the church in the first century was. How does one become a member of this church congregation? The exact same way as seen in the Biblical accounts. On the day of Pentecost following Jesus' resurrection, people who repented and were baptized were saved (Acts 2:38) and the saved were added to the church (Acts 2:47). These saved people were members of the body, or church (Colossians 1:18). To become a Christian, the Bible teaches: Hear the gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God (John 8:24, 58, Heb. 11:6) Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, 5) Confess Jesus as Lord (Matt. 10:32-33, Rom. 10:9-10) Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16) Remain Faithful to Christ (Rev. 2:10, 2 Tim 4:7-8)
