Welcome to Episode 32 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast! Our hosts Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another roundup of motorsport events from the past week. Paul joins us from a secret location where we are looking to do some filming! This week, we've had lots of exciting racing in the UK, NASCAR and more! The Formula 1 drivers are on their Summer break. If the FIA admitted human error in the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, why have Mercedes let it go? Toto Wolff has been accused of being 'too powerful' in the World of Motorsport by Mario Andretti. Lewis Hamilton was seen in the W Series paddocks, stating that the drivers need more support to get into the sport. With Paul being away, he wasn't present at the Caterham Race at Anglesey, where friend of the channel, Charlie Lower took another win! The British Superbikes were at Thruxton, with some of the best racing Tiff has ever seen! Jason O'Halloran took the win in the first two races, but Tarran Mackenzie took the lead in the third race with just a few corners to go! Very exciting racing. The other British racing this weekend was the Touring Cars at Snetterton. There wasn't much overtaking at this circuit, with a great weekend for BMW as the heat affected the FWD cars. Colin Turkington won the first two races, with Ford's Ashley Sutton taking the third win. The BTCC was supported by some amazing racing in the Ginetta series. Internationally, the NASCAR boys were racing at the Richmond Raceway in Virginia, with a second win on the trot for Kevin Harwick. Just two races to go before the playoffs! Watkins Glen is coming up, with Formula 1 driver, Kimi Raikonnen making a debut! The first race of the World Rallycross Championship also took place this weekend, the electric rallycross series. The series was in Norway, with just 8 cars on the grid. We had the last round of the Formula E Championship at Seoul in South Korea, with a win for Edoardo Mortara, with Stoffel Vandoorne securing second place and winning the Championship. Next weekend, we have Indycar at Gateway Oval as we have some the last three exciting rounds coming up. WRC is in Belgium, plus Moto GP at the Red Bull Ring. Plus, we have Kimi Raikonnen at Watkins Glen in NASCAR!

F1 is back this week as the F1 show rolls into Spa Franchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix. Before the race we got word that the FIA plans to roll out some form of cockpit head protection to the junior serious - because if it's good enough for F1, then it's good enough for the junior formulas. Jenson Button says that he'll be racing next year, but we don't know where. Like video games - F1 is launching an esports series. Kimi Raikonnen, Sebastian Vettel, and Stoffel Vandorne both have contracts for next year - and Stoffel got the bonus of grid penalties too. Toto Wolff says that the team didn't speak with Sebastian Vettel regarding a seat but they are working on contingencies so that they don't have another Rosberg situation. And Pirelli insists that their tires are safe this weekend....

Are you a Snapchat user? F1 has a new partnership with Snapchat. Sauber has an new boss, and he's trying to figure out the whole Honda thing. It doesn't sound like Longbow Financial thought real highly of the Honda deal. Kimi Raikonnen is doing his best, no matter what Sergio Marchione says, oh and Ferrari doesn't want to hire Fernando Alonso again. Danil Kyviat wants a confirmation from Red Bull that he'll have a seat in the organization next year. The FIA says - no, Valteri Bottas didn't jump the start in Austria. The BRDC has no intention of selling Silverstone to FOG. And the first run with the new "shield" concept wasn't a roaring success...
