Despite ceding the lead to McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris at the end of lap one, Red Bull-Honda's Max Verstappen brilliantly won the Pirelli Italian GP at Monza, beating both McLaren drivers down into the minor placings. For their part, McLaren introduced more controversial team orders to enable Lando Norris to finish second ahead of Oscar Piastri. Charles Leclerc drove the skin off his Ferrari to finish fourth ahead of Mercedes' George Russell and Sir Lewis Hamilton, who started with a five-place grid penalty after a yellow flag infringement at Zandvoort. Peter in this podcast analyses the Italian GP weekend from the start of the action on Friday through to the chequered flag on Sunday, explaining where Max found an advantage over Lando and Oscar in qualifying and how he parlayed that on Sunday into one of the best wins of the season. With thanks to Jetcraft, the world's largest buyer and seller of executive jets:https://jetcraft.comTo OEM Exclusive, the passionate suppliers of OEM upgrades for exotic and high-performance vehiclesTo TrackNinja, a lap-timer and data app designed to help users improve their on-track car and driver performance through analysis and an innovative Data Garage. Dad and I are back with our race recap and reaction for Zandvoort and Monza and Baby there is a lot to talk about. We also have some F1 news and a tasty little Moment With Martin. Thanks for listing, hope you enjoy!
The Dutch Grand Prix gave us everything: Lando Norris's McLaren literally went up in smoke, rookie Isack Hadjar scored his first-ever podium, and Haas pulled off a double points finish (yes, really). Add in three safety cars — and for once none of them were Lance Stroll's fault — and Zandvoort delivered pure chaos.Max and Mike break down Piastri's seventh win of the season, Verstappen's home podium, Ferrari's spectacular double DNF, and what it all means for the championship picture. Plus: bold takes, a little roasting, and the usual detours you've come to expect. The grid resets, the title fight twists, and the summer break hangover is officially over.
Did McLaren do the right thing? No, not for Oscar Piastri alone, but even for Formula 1? How much is too much when it comes to being "fair" in their intra-team battle? Will McLaren "engineer" a DNF for Piastri to make things fair after Lando Norris' DNF from Zandvoort? What if McLaren's stop for Norris was 15s slow? How would they have handled the "papaya rules" and driver swap? McLaren's team orders saga shouldn't take away from one key fact - Max Verstappen & Red Bull Racing dominated the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. We can bet that this was one dominant display by Verstappen-Red Bull that most fans enjoyed! Soumil Arora and Kunal Shah dissect the 2025 Italian Grand Prix where we saw Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing dominate. But how did Red Bull Racing rise up to be the class of the field? #F1 #F12025 #ItalianGP #Monza Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Arnaud Atché has only been making pizzas for about 15 months, but the former consultant has poured himself into the daily rigor of making his dough and baking with precision from a seaside restaurant in the town of Zandvoort, about 30 minutes west of Amsterdam. Piatti on the Beach is certainly a one-of-a-kind pizzeria in the middle of nowhere, but very close to the F1 track.

Oscar Piastri looked unstoppable at Zandvoort, giving off some low key WDC energy. Meanwhile, Hadjar locks in Rookie of the Year with a heartwarming podium, and Antonelli and Lawson are racking up penalties (and travel bans?) like it's a new F1 tradition. Italy won't let Kimi in for punting Leclerc? Spain / Sainz shuts the door on Lawson? The drama is continental. Also: insane returns on the business side as Middle Eastern stakes in Aston and McLaren grow — and the sport's financial engine starts to look just as turbocharged as the grid.Plus: Cadillac's lineup is giving Bridesmaids (and we love it).Next up, Monza! Predictions included for a more Ferrari friendly weekend. Aside from Charles' moody hill stint in the Netherlands, which looked like the makings of a piano sequel album.

In this episode we talk about the Dutch go - aka Zandvoort. We talk about the qualifying, the podium, the fights and of course, all the drama.
Marcin Budkowski, who worked with Oscar Piastri at Alpine and held engineering roles at Ferrari and McLaren, joins Tom Clarkson in the Zandvoort paddock to reflect on an action-packed Dutch Grand Prix. After Lando Norris's late mechanical failure, Piastri's seventh victory of the season moves him 34 points clear of his McLaren teammate at the top of the Drivers' Standings. What does that retirement mean for Lando's title hopes and his approach for the rest of the season? How did Oscar end up getting the better of Lando after trailing him in all three practice sessions? Marcin shares fascinating insight into how different Oscar is in the cockpit compared to out of the car with his helmet off, and why the Australian has surprised him this year after having some doubts about his title-winning credentials. Lando's loss was Isack Hadjar's gain, as the Racing Bulls rookie jumped up a place from P4 to P3 to score his first podium in Formula 1. How did Isack execute his best weekend in F1 so far? Should Red Bull promote him to be Max Verstappen's teammate in 2026? And Ferrari had a weekend to forget with a double DNF, after Charles Leclerc was taken out by Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton crashed into the barriers. Marcin tells Tom why he thinks Antonelli is going through a difficult patch at Mercedes and why Lewis's struggles with the car remind him of Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren. Will the support of the Orange Army and his incredible record at this track help him get back in the top three? What is the rest of 2025 all about for Max and Red Bull? And is Yuki Tsunoda fighting for his F1 future in these last 10 races? Ferrari are the only team in the top four yet to win a race this year. Will that change before the end of the season?
