The controversial development in Farm Cove was consented shortly before Auckland's planning rules changed in October last year. One resident sought legal advice, maintaining the development should no longer be allowed, and says there's been mixed messages from Council about it going ahead. Felix Walton has more.

KCUR's Up To Date featured three Trump supporters in an interview last week, which included statements that could not be verified. The response was swift — and overwhelmingly negative.

In the aftermath of this week’s winter storm, Gov. Josh Shapiro took time to say thank you to highway workers who were on the job since the first flakes began falling. State Attorney General Dave Sunday and the Bureau of Consumer Protection are warning scammers might take advantage of the recent winter storm and current cold weather. The snowstorm dumped anywhere from 9 to 15 inches of snow across Pennsylvania. This may come as a surprise today, but winter is still the fastest-warming season in the Philadelphia region. That doesn’t mean we can’t get serious cold snaps. An inmate at the state prison at Camp Hill has died. The state Department of Corrections has identified him as 46-year-old James Campbell, who was found unresponsive in his cell on Sunday. Outraged critics are accusing Donald Trump of “whitewashing history” after the National Park Service last week removed an exhibit on slavery at Philadelphia’s Independence National Historical Park. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Mike McCarthy have reached a verbal agreement for McCarthy to become the club's next head coach. McCarthy, a Pittsburgh native, it set to succeed Mike Tomlin, whose surprise departure created just the third job opening in Pittsburgh since 1969. While the Trump administration releases a steady stream of gaslighting statements about ICE arresting "the worst of the worst," Americans are seeing with their own eyes the abuse and cruelty of Trump's anti-immigrant agenda directed at innocent members of close, caring communities. An elderly man, barely clothed, dragged from his house, small children being detained from their parents and used as bait to trap family members. Americans are so thoroughly disgusted and outraged at what Trump and his lackeys are doing that they are braving inhuman cold by the tens of thousands to make their displeasure seen and heard.Mary Moriarty, the county attorney of Hennepin County, Minnesota, talks with Jen Psaki about how distorted the Justice Department has become under Donald Trump and the power the state has to enforce its laws against the abuses of federal agents, including in the case of the shooting of Renee Good. We've all rolled our eyes at someone's behavior, only to realize, uncomfortably, that we've done the same. Join Yael in this conversation discussing this very common human experience with Michael Hallsworth, the author of The Hypocrisy Trap. Julia Hartley-Brewer chats to Lord Young about Britain's Free Speech crisis as yet another Brit becomes the latest victim of Keir Starmer's two-tier nation. Today, it's Jamie Michael, who was initially charged with hate speech towards illegal migrants after posting a video on Facebook. Even though a jury took 17 minutes to find Jamie ‘not guilty', local safeguarding authorities in Wales deemed him not to be allowed to work with kids. Jamie, a father of two, is no longer allowed to coach his daughter's local football team. Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt joins Sam to catch up where they left off during the first Trump administration and how they simply can’t believe we’re doing round two of this shit. They discuss how there’s money in outrage and how it drives engagement, and how news channels take advantage of your cortisol levels to keep you engaged with constant alerts of BREAKING NEWS. Patton explains why he no longer interacts with people on X but still can’t leave his followers behind, and why they both now mostly use social media to self-soothe, while others are left to raw-dog their boredom. They talk about the need for young nerds to go into politics and what Trump would be doing if Sam was still on TV. A girl can dream! A local community board has voted against having more concerts at Eden park, a move some Auckland businesses are describing as a handbrake on prosperity. The government wants to boost the number of gigs allowed at the venue to 12 large and 20 medium concerts a year. At the moment Eden Park is limited to six artists playing a total of 12 gigs a year. But Auckland Council's Albert-Eden local board has voted no to supporting that plan, which has infuriated the Dominion Road Business Association. Manager Gary Holmes spoke to Lisa Owen.

In this episode of Thinking Out Loud, Nathan Rittenhouse and Cameron McAllister tackle the phenomenon of fake outrage in Christian culture—using the reaction to Taylor Swift's Life of a Showgirl as a jumping-off point. With deep theological reflection and cultural insight, Nathan and Cameron explore why outrage has become a form of identity-building within the church and beyond, how scapegoating and virtue signaling distort genuine moral concern, and what it means for Christians to live wisely in a world shaped by Babylon and Vanity Fair. This thoughtful conversation challenges believers to pursue discernment, truth, and humility rather than reactionary culture wars. Salvation was treated like a transaction through rituals and indulgences, and the gospel was buried under centuries of human authority. The Bible was locked away in Latin, unreadable to most people. But God was preparing a movement of rediscovery—the Protestant Reformation. In this episode, we'll see how men like Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, John Calvin, John Knox, and the lesser-known Anabaptists helped bring Christianity back to the simple gospel of faith in Jesus Christ. The Reformation wasn't rebellion—it was rediscovery. It was a return to the gospel buried under layers of religion. The Reformation BeginsMartin Luther, a German monk, struggled with guilt and never felt good enough for God. While reading Romans 1:17, he discovered that righteousness is a gift from God—received by faith, not earned by works. Around that time, the Church was selling indulgences to raise money for St. Peter's Basilica, claiming that people could buy forgiveness. Outraged, Luther wrote his 95 Theses and nailed them to a church door in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517.The document spread quickly thanks to the newly invented printing press, and a movement was born. Luther stood before church authorities and declared, “My conscience is captive to the Word of God. Here I stand. I can do no other.” While hiding from persecution, he translated the Bible into German so ordinary people could read it for themselves.Other Reformers Across EuropeWhile Luther led in Germany, others joined the cause across Europe:Ulrich Zwingli in Switzerland preached directly from Scripture, opposed indulgences, and emphasized simple, Bible-centered worship.John Calvin in France and later Geneva wrote The Institutes of the Christian Religion, organizing Christian theology and emphasizing God's sovereignty, grace, and the authority of Scripture.John Knox in Scotland, a student of Calvin, boldly preached the gospel to kings and queens and helped establish the Presbyterian Church, governed by elders with Christ as its head.William Tyndale in England translated the Bible into English so people could read it in their own language. The Reformation spread rapidly, dividing Europe between those who followed the old system and those who embraced this rediscovered gospel of...

Salvation was treated like a transaction through rituals and indulgences, and the gospel was buried under centuries of human authority. The Bible was locked away in Latin, unreadable to most people.
