Ain't no time like the present to reminisce about the past, am I right??? After an up-and-down stretch from the 2021 Mets, including an especially meager series in Chicago, it was time to take things alllllllll the way back to the beginning... 2003! In this episode, I tell the tale of attending my first ever Mets game, and how my fandom quickly blossomed from there. Of course, we couldn't fully avoid what the present day Mets have been up to, so I dive into their recent play as well. Thanks so much for all the support, and I hope you enjoy this one! In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Tim is joined by Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized Online to joyously ring in the Steve Cohen Era in Flushing, as the Mets agreed to sell the team to the Long Island native on Monday. With a solid core in place, the potential for this ballclub to take immeasurable leaps with the right level of support from ownership is ridiculously exciting. Oh, and the Mets headed into Monday just two games out of a playoff spot in the NL. So there's that.
Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized Online returned to the show, joining Tim to reflect on the passing of Mets Hall of Famer and arguably the best right-hander to ever step on an MLB mound, Tom Seaver. The legacy he leaves behind is a tremendous one. Jacob and Tim do their best to convey the importance of reinforcing that legacy. Of course, a World Series title in 2020 would be a great way for the Mets to pay tribute to Tom Terrific.

LIVE at 8pm ET, A Metsian Podcast enters the All-Star break thrilled to welcome MetsMerized Online and MetsMinors.net's Jacob Resnick to the program! Jacob, who got a chance to call an inning as a youngster after winning SNY's kidcaster contest, writes about the Mets for MetsMerizedOnline.com and MetsMinors.net, specializing in the minor leagues. During the summer he covers the Brooklyn Cyclones from MCU Park and during the rest of the year he is a communications student at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. He became a Mets fan in 2006 and still roots through the good times and the bad. Though there are many issues that have led to the Mets losing record entering the break, none are more glaring than the blown saves, a category they lead the league in. Could they possibly go on a run if they can even remotely get this under control or should they cut their losses and sell off before the hard trade deadline of July 31st? Brodie Van Wagenen, according to media sources, threw a chair across the room before telling Mickey Callaway to go conduct "your (bleepin') press conference." At what point does this season become his fault as opposed to the coaches? The Mets have three All-Stars playing on Tuesday: Jacob deGrom, Jeff McNeil and Pete Alonso. Alonso will also be performing the night before in the Home Run Derby. We'll discuss their first halves and how important their seasons have been as silver linings to yet another miserable campaign. With the minors being Mr. Resnick's specialty, we'll also discuss the seasons the affiliates are having and some hidden gems us fans may be able to look forward to down the road. That plus MUCH MORE! So, tune in LIVE at 8pm ET for the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!

John, aka Mets Daddy, has a website of the same name, which was created in June 2015 at his wife's recommendation because she tired of him complaining about Terry Collins and the Mets after each loss (she's not a baseball fan). From there, He's been fortunate enough to write for MetsMerized Online and become an editor for Mets Minors Net. We'll recap the Phillies series, which went oh so swimmingly. We'll discuss the fallout of the Mickey Callaway/Jason Vargas incident involving Tim Healey, and the apologies (and non-apologies) that followed. Is Brodie Van Wagenen really calling the shots in-game via text from home? What would be the ramifications if these accusations turned out true? Can ANYTHING be done about this dreadful bullpen? Why is Robinson Cano SO bad and why do they insist on hitting him 3rd? 4.5 more years of THIS?? Those topics plus MUCH more. We'll also look back on the players in Mets history to wear #30.
