Jeff and Mark dive into another episode of Two Strike Noise, the baseball history podcast once described as being “absolutely a baseball history podcast”. Mark is heading out for a vacation, while Jeff stays back to fill the baseball void with upcoming guest host David from the 1988 Topps podcast, a special Dave Stewart jersey giveaway, and various baseball stories from Japanese frying pans (yes this has to do with baseball) to the quirkiest inning in history. The Brewers and Marlins get in on the custom team anthem boat, where do they rank with the Metsmerized and Reds Hot's of of the baseball universe? The episode wraps up with Wax Pack Heroes, where they open 1990 Fleer and Donruss cards, adding a fun competitive twist to baseball nostalgia. 00:00 Introduction 00:26 Vacation Plans and Guest Host Announcement 03:23 Japanese Baseball and Unique Merchandise 05:38 Chris Bryant's Stolen Lamborghini 08:08 Kent Herbeck's Unusual Snack 09:47 Trevor Bauer's YouTube Strategy 12:35 Jot Gore's Unbelievable Inning 18:33 Baseball Music and Team Anthems 30:59 Wax Packs Heroes 01:03:09 Wrapping Up and Future Plans Facebook -https://www.facebook.com/TwoStrikeNoise/ Instagram - @twostrikenoise Bluesky - @twostrikenoise.bsky.social Threads - @twostrikenoise Twitter - @twostrikenoise Two Strike Noise on YouTube - www.youtube.com/@twostrikenoise Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/twostrikenoise E-mail - twostrikenoise@gmail.com We pull ALOT of commons in Wax Pack Heroes. We're going out with a bang. With Sam's move to broadcasting pro ball, we're hanging up the microphones -- at least for a while. To send us off into the extended hiatus sunset, we sat down with some of our favorite friends and guests in a jam-packed final episode. This is easily the longest episode we've done, so get ready for nearly three hours of mostly remembering guys. Before the guests begin, we do talk about Edwin Diaz, his injury, and the larger discourses that go along with the WBC. About 16 minutes in, our first guest is Matt Mancuso (@MattyCuso on Twitter). Matt is a longtime contributor at MetsMerized and Baseball Cloud. He's also a childhood friend of Sam's! After Matt, we welcome in Michael Mayer (@MikeMayer22), executive editor at MetsMerized and a former guest of the pod. Then, it's guest and one-time guest host Rob Piersall (@RTPiersall), site lead at MetsLegends and former MetsMerized colleague of ours! And finally, we return to a familiar chaos format. Three friends of the pod at the same time. Among them: professional pitcher and vlogger Tom Hackimer (@HackAttackimer), screen printer and Jeopardy! contestant Abigail Noy (@BringDaNoyz), and everyone's favorite internet gremlin, Richard Staff (@RichardStaff). It's a loaded, chaotic time. But it's fun. I think you can handle it. Be sure to listen closely for a discount code for Abigail's website, sympatheticinker.com. It's been an absolute pleasure to bring 115 episodes' worth of content to you. Whether this is your first episode or 115th, thank you for being part of this journey. Hey Mets fans! This week, we head back to our podcasting roots with Michael Mayer (@mikemayer22 on Twitter), the executive editor at MetsMerized -- the site the podcast first started under. Mike is a very smart dude. He chatted with us about a variety of topics. We broke down the Mets decision to not make any 40-man roster adds (no, not even "prospect" Jake Mangum) ahead of Tuesday's Rule V protection deadline. We also talked about the addition of righty Stephen Ridings on waivers from the Yankees and the lack of trades the Mets made despite rumors they were engaged with the Rays ahead of that deadline. We also chatted about the Mets new hirings in both the hitting and pitching departments. They're good hires. Mike helps us break down WHY Jeff Albert and Eric Jagers are difference makers for the Mets despite not being on the MLB coaching staff. With the qualifying offer deadline in the past and a couple of arms off the board, we also took a long look at the starting pitching options if the Mets in case they lose Jacob deGrom. Plus, remembering some friends new and old with Mike! Give Mike a follow on Twitter for some excellent coverage. Enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sam-lebowitz9/support

Happy Monday, Mets fans! We've got a jam-packed episode this week with lots to talk about! First, the Mets signed James McCann. In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Metsmerized and Mets Minors mainstay Jacob Resnick returns to run the gauntlet of offseason news topics. The Mets front office search continues, and even though Theo Epstein may be out of the picture (for now), there are a few on-field Cubs that would look mighty fine in blue and orange next season. We discuss some of the second-tier starters the Mets have been linked to, Jacob provides a quick Rule 5 Draft primer, and we answer some mailbag questions.
Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized returns to the show to bask in the glory of new ownership for the New York Mets with Tim Ryder in the latest episode of Simply Amazin. The commencement of the Steve Cohen Era has rejuvenated this fan base and has brightened the organizational outlook on just about every front. Listen to Tim and Jacob break down what Cohen's approval means for the future of this proud franchise.
Pleasant Good Evening is back! This time it's episode nine with MetsMerized's very own Tim Ryder! Jack (@jackhendon_) and I (@SamLebo14) welcome Tim to the party as we discuss Dodgers v. Rays and Mets playoff memories. To start things off, we try our best to break down the madness of Saturday's World Series Game Four and the play the shall henceforth be known as the Brett Phillips Play. Tim had some opinions on what should have happened. We do our best to preview Sunday's Game Five - as this episode was recorded a few hours before first pitch. With hindsight, we can now see which of us was right and which of us was wrong about the Tyler Glasnow versus Clayton Kershaw matchup. And then we dive into our mailbag! We asked you guys on our Twitter, @PGEPod_MMO, which your favorite underrated Mets playoff memories were. We got lots of great answers, so thank you very much for your replies. We read off and discuss our favorites. We also talk about our favorite underrated memories. And as always, we finish by remembering some guys! Welcome back for episode two of MetsMerized's new podcast, Pleasant Good Evening! This week, myself (@SamLebo14) and Jack (jackhendon_) break down a very long and busy week of Mets baseball. We discuss the social undercurrent of the week, surrounding Dom Smith and the Mets' walk-out of Thursday's game against the Marlins. We also discuss exactly how the Mets did in their eight games this week, down the most frustrating detail. How did the pitching hold up? How about the catching? Jack and I also talk about today's trade deadline and what we think the Mets will do with a much clearer picture of where the team sits since last week. To round out the episode, we discuss the (likely) new team owner and what his first order of business should be. We also reminisce about Addison Reed's amazing 2016 and, as usual, remember some random Mets! Stick around to the end of the episode to see which random Mets we remember. You do not want to miss this week's segment. Also, we're running a mailbag for the podcast! This week's question is: What do you think about the seven inning game format? Do you love it or hate it? Sound off in the in the replies to our mailbag tweet on Twitter @PGEPod_MMO and we may read your answer next week. In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Tim is joined by Mitch Petanick (@firstpitchmitch on Twitter), proprietor of Monster Hits Club -- a baseball card group break channel on YouTube -- and former Metsmerized writer to discuss what's happening in Flushing and in the card hobby. COVID has struck the Mets just as they were finding their groove. Let's hope the momentum they've gained isn't lost.
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized returns to break down a lost weekend for the New York Mets in Philadelphia. Not a ton of time left to right the ship, but with solid cogs performing admirably in the absence of production or injuries to some of the frontliners, there is hope, yet. And we'd be remiss to ignore Tim's exit from Metsmerized this week, so he says his piece on the matter and assures everyone it's nothing but love.
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin, Tim is joined by Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized and Mets Minors to discuss the New York Mets' incoming draft class. With only six picks in this year's truncated draft, the Mets appear to have taken a viable, potential-laden path. The guys also tackle the latest MLB/MLBPA negotiations, as well as a potential Mets sale -- again.
In the latest episode of SImply Amazin', Tim is joined by fellow Metsmerized brethren Mathew Brownstein and former New York Mets left-handed reliever Dennis Cook. The guys discuss the anatomy of a bullpen, the cohesion of those 1999 and 2000 Mets postseason teams, the difference between throwing and pitching, and the exciting (and nearly violent) Subway Series with the Yankees.
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin, Tim is joined by Metsmerized executive editor Mike Mayer. Tim and Mike discuss the potential contraction of two Mets minor league affiliates, the ongoing negotiations between MLB and the MLB Players' Association, as well as how the Mets could benefit from the universal DH in 2020. To close out the show, Mike opens a few packs of old baseball cards and the guys tell some stories.
It's a very special episode of Mets Across The Pod, as Tracey, Les and David welcome Tim Ryder of Metsmerized and the Simply Amazin' podcast to the show. Who is his dream podcast guest? Will there be baseball in 2020 and a realignment of the leagues? Who are his favourite Mets past and present, and which current player might make the best manager? Most importantly, which soccer team does his grandmother support? We get the big answers to the biggest of questions. Tim asks us about baseball in the UK, and we find out the best bar near him to watch a game in. It's even English themed, apparently. Tim can be found at @TimothyRRyder on Twitter, and at @Metsmerized and @SimplyAmazinPod. LETS! GO! METS! #LGM #LFGM
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Tim is joined by Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized and Mets Minors to discuss the COVID-19 agreement between Major League Baseball and the MLB Players' Association, as well as what this means for the future of the game -- the minor league players and upcoming potential draftees.
James writes for Pitcher List, Metsmerized, and Prospects 365. He came on to discuss some of the positives and negatives of the MLB season not starting until at least June. https://twitter.com/JeterHadNoRange
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Tim is joined by Jacob Resnick of Metsmerized, reporting directly from Mets Spring Training in Port St. Lucie. Between shirtless Noah Syndergaard's promising start to the spring, the battle for the back-end of the rotation between Steven Matz, Rick Porcello, and Michael Wacha, or the long-awaited Mets debut of Dellin Betances, there was plenty to recap from PSL.
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Jacob Resnick of MetsMerized and Mets Minors joined Tim Ryder for our Spring Training 2020 primer. With full-team workouts starting on Monday, and as evidenced by Pete Alonso's now-public dreams of being drunk on a parade float this fall, optimism is soaring in Port St. Lucie. Tim and Jacob also discussed Jed Lowrie and his fashionable new legwear, Yoenis Cespedes' timetable to return, and which Mets minor league Spring Training invitees to keep an eye on.
In the latest episode of Simply Amazin', Tim is joined by MetsMerized senior writer and New York Times news assistant, Mathew Brownstein. Between the Astros' quasi-apologies, Spring Training reaching full speed, and a boatload of optimism emanating out of Port St. Lucie, Tim and Mat had plenty to discuss.
