Jerry's final update tackles the Giants' future, whether Arch Manning should declare now to escape the Jets, and Mike Tomlin's legendary "aunt/uncle" quote. Finally, we wrap with the Moment of the Day: a roast-heavy studio visit from Carton & C-Mac.
New York football's miserable season is finally over, and we're breaking down the wreckage as the Jets finish with a historic zero-interception season while the Giants secure the number five pick—and potentially a new head coach with Kevin Stefanski officially out in Cleveland. Jerry brings us the sounds of the Giants' season-ending win over Dallas, including Jaxson Dart's Mahomes-like flip play, while we debate if these Jets are statistically worse than the Rich Kotite era. Plus, Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle stop by the studio to launch their new afternoon show and preview their sit-down with Jim Dolan. All that plus Arch Manning talk and that crazy Steelers game ending.

Today's word of the day is ‘sensational' as in Game 7 as in ALCS as in Blue Jays as in Mariners as in World Series berth on the line! The Blue Jays at home were able to get a win last night and force the Game 7. This is what it's all about. Shane Bieber vs George Kirby. Will Vlad continue to crush? Can Cal Raleigh's tremendous season continue? (19:00) Shohei Ohtani. That's it. That's the tweet. (25:30) Did the Giants really lose that game? Up 19? Up 26-8? Gave up 33 points in the 4th!? (32:00) Today has to be the day. There is no reason for the Dolphins to employ Mike McDaniel. Embarrassed by the Browns. Benched Tua. It's disgusting. (42:00) Remember when Aaron Glenn yelled a reporter about the future of the Jets QB and then he benched Justin Fields. We all remember that. (48:00) Let me get back to the Dodgers real quick. We took some calls on the Giants, Jets and Yanks losses. Oh, and the Mets blew out their entire coaching staff besides Carlos Mendoza. Boomer thinks if Dart didn't underthrow the flea flicker, it's a different game.
It was a nightmare weekend for New York sports: the Yankees got crushed again in Toronto, with Max Fried giving up seven runs and Boomer ripping their “give-up at bats”; the Giants turned the ball over five straight times and now face a 1-5 record, leaving DABOLL under fire and Dart owning his mistakes; and the Jets remain winless, fumbling and floundering on defense while Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson wonder what's going wrong. Fans called in furious as the losses piled up, and even Boomer wondered aloud, “What are we gonna do with sports around here?” Meanwhile, Daniel Jones and the Colts quietly shine elsewhere, highlighting just how bleak things are for New York teams.
DABOLL rips turnovers, Dart owns his mistakes, and Glenn says Hall's fumble crushed the Jets. Wilson can't believe they're 0-5, Gardner wonders what's wrong, and Boomer steals the spotlight with a lifetime achievement award.
BT and Sal are fed up with the relentless negativity surrounding the Giants and Jets, arguing that fans are too quick to abandon hope despite potential signs of life. They discuss the possibility of both teams reaching a respectable 2-3 record and the excitement surrounding new Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, but acknowledge that the pervasive, glass-half-empty attitude from the fan base makes any potential progress difficult to enjoy. The hosts advocate for positivity and patience, especially with a young quarterback, urging fans to stop focusing on the past and instead embrace the possibility of competitive football and a future turnaround.
We started the hour with the Mets situation and lots of callers seem to be angry at Steve Cohen, with one caller wanting the Wilpons back. A caller wondered if Gio was still thinking the Lions were going to have a bad season. Jerry returns for an update and starts with a Derrick Henry fumble as the Lions beat the Ravens. Aaron Glenn talked about the Jets defense having to get better. Boomer said Jets fans are mad Glenn is showing emotion and also mad when Rob Saleh didn't. Peta is upset with Tom Brady for saying ‘kick the dog' during the broadcast. Pete Alonso talked about going into the final 6 games of the season. In the final segment of the hour, we heard a speech from an FDNY firefighter to the Ryder Cup team pumping them up. He went full America on them.
C-Lo with the sounds of Patrick Mahomes fumbling and then going and getting the ball back himself from a Giants' defender. Russell Wilson had trouble throwing deep against the Chiefs defense. Daboll kept getting questions after the game about a QB change. We heard the sounds of the Jets blocking a Bucs FG attempt that was returned for a TD and had the Jets believing they would win the game. Aaron Glenn was happy to see how the Jets played and said it's ‘not an instant coffee team' yet again.
The Jets and Mets were losing at almost the exact same time yesterday. As the Bucs were coming back to win their game after the Jets blocked and returned a FG attempt, Francisco Alvarez was getting robbed of a HR. The Jets fell to 0-3 at the same time the Mets were falling out of the playoffs. Right now both of their Octobers mean nothing. That could change, but it's not looking great. Boomer said the major difference between them is the Jets are in a rebuild and the Mets spent a ton of money on their roster. Gio said the Mets do not deserve to make the playoffs. They are ‘consistently inconsistent'. Even if they back into the playoffs and lose, that's a bad scene. Aaron Glenn said after the game this isn't the same old Jets, but it is. C-Lo returned for an update and started with the sounds of Patrick Mahomes fumbling and then going and getting the ball back himself from a Giants' defender. The Yankees beat the Orioles in extra innings as Ben Rice hit a grand slam. The Mets lost to the Nationals, whose center fielder made 2 great plays. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said the next QB to start has to be Jaxson Dart, not Jameis Winston. He's the last shot Daboll has to stick around. Boomer thinks the Falcons had to have the worst day, but the Rams loss had to be crushing. Once again there were issues with the tush-push even though the NFL told officials to officiate it properly.
Sal and BT furiously dismantled the state of New York sports, focusing on the systemic rot plaguing the Giants, Jets, and Mets. They lambasted the Giants for their pitiful performance against the Chiefs, calling it the "erosion of a once-proud franchise" and blaming a decade of poor front-office decisions. The duo also tore into the Jets for their delusional, celebratory behavior during a loss, which they felt was the perfect example of the team's "same old Jets" mentality and a complete lack of accountability. They concluded the rant by declaring the Mets' 2025 collapse the worst in franchise history, a slow-motion car crash that symbolizes the complete lack of winning culture and accountability across all three organizations.
Jerry is here for his first update of the day and we heard the TD from Wilson to Nabers with :25 seconds to play. We also heard the call of the Cowboys game winning FG. We then heard the sounds of the Jets losing to the Bills as they couldn't stop James Cook. We heard Joe Burrow go down with a serious turf toe injury.
Jerry starts with the Russell Wilson interception in overtime. Brian Daboll sounded disappointed after the game. Aaron Glenn had a message to the team after the loss. The Colts beat the Broncos on a FG after a penalty on the previous FG that was no good.
A caller said Tony Romo did a great job of calling out the Jets defense during the broadcast. A Cowboys fan calls in to call the Giants the ‘g-strings'. Boomer told him his defense stinks, so stop crowing. A caller wonders how it feels to have to talk Giants and Jets every day.

He analyzes Fields' struggles in the NFL vs. Ohio State. The Giants must win one of their first two division games. C-Lo provides an update: Jazz Chisholm Jr. helped the Yankees beat the Red Sox, the Mets lost to the Braves due to poor hitting, Shohei Ohtani interacted with a heckler, and The Big Dumper had a record day. Hour 1 Despite hopes for a Feel Good Summer Friday, the Mets' disappointing season, potentially their worst ever, is creating a nightmare for Gio and Jerry. A "loser virus" seems to have infected the team, leading to contagious losses and a sloppy performance. Gio is frustrated, throwing a helmet off the desk, and both Jerry and C-Lo share his fatigue. Gio blames Cedric Mullins' poor route for a run, while Jerry sees the Mullins trade as a mistake. Carlos Mendoza is at a loss for words. A caller suggests firing Mendoza and hiring Wally Backman, but Jerry thinks Carlos Beltran will be the next manager. Gio disagrees. A Missouri caller rubs salt in the wound, and another caller's brother-in-law, a long-time stadium worker since The Beatles' concert, will throw out the first pitch. Hour 2 Gio fears a dark October for New York sports. Jerry sees the Giants' strong defense as a playoff hope, while Gio is less optimistic about the Giants and Jets. They discuss Shedeur Sanders, a positive Jets outlook despite potential losses, and the Mets and Yankees' playoff chances. The segment covers C-Lo's update on the Mets' struggles, Lindor's urgency, Mendoza sounding like Boone, Keith Hernandez's comments, Udonis Haslem's gaffe, Sal Licata's departure, and Darryl Strawberry's reaction to Pete Alonso's "down goes Straw." They anticipate the Giants-Jets preseason game, differing on the Giants' 2025 offense. The hour concludes with a discussion on Stanley Cup craze, crazy headlines, and Boomer's temperament. Hour 3 "Feel Good Friday" features "Surfside" talk, an online beef between WFAN callers, and the Mets' lack of an ace. Social media's impact is discussed, with Eddie opting out. C-Lo provides an update, while Gio asks Fliegs about Taylor Swift's new album. Gio and Jerry recall Gio meeting Dua Lipa. Mike Francesa's birthday wish for Jay Horwitz prompts a discussion of classic WFAN prank calls and famous on-air flubs. The hour concludes with a heated exchange between Dan in Carteret and John in Maspeth. Hour 4 On a "Feel Good Friday," Gio and Jerry try to remain positive despite the Mets' disappointing season. WFAN night/overnight shows are now streaming live on YouTube, with good initial viewership. A caller's teenage son got a hole-in-one after only a few months of golfing, leading to talk about the "rowdy" Ryder Cup. C-Lo returns for an update after Jerry fails to get support from Gio and C-Lo. The Mets lost, and a fan accidentally hit the SAP button. Howie Rose commented on an LLWS video on X. The Yankees play in St. Louis tonight. A Brewers fan called 911 over a free burger promo. C-Lo plays old on-air pranks and mistakes, including one from Jerry's overnight days. Moment of the Day: Mike Francesa wishes Jay Horwitz a happy 80th on Twitter/X. Finally, Gio and Jerry compare the Giants' QB room to other NFL teams and Jerry is excited for the Mets' MLB Little League Classic.
Gio fears a bleak October for New York sports, while Jerry believes the Giants' strong defense can lead them to the playoffs. Gio dismisses Shedeur Sanders' preseason hype, but Jerry hopes he proves doubters wrong. A Jets fan is optimistic about the team's turnaround under Aaron Glenn. Gio expects neither the Mets nor Yankees to make the playoffs, while Jerry is confident the Yankees will and predicts a Giants Week 1 win over the Commanders. Gio is less optimistic about the Giants and Jets than Jerry. The guys also question a graphic error showing "MICHAEL PENIS JR" instead of Penix. C-Lo's update covers the Braves beating the Mets, Lindor's urgency, Mendoza sounding like Boone, Keith Hernandez's comments, Udonis Haslem's gaffe, the Mets losing Sal Licata, and Darryl Strawberry's reaction to Pete Alonso's "down goes Straw" HR ball. The Giants Jets preseason game is tomorrow, and Jerry has higher expectations for the Giants offense in 2025. Finally, they discuss the continued popularity of Stanley cups and crazy headlines, noting Boomer's generally good mood.

C-Lo's update includes the Mets blowing a lead, getting swept in Milwaukee, and the SNY Jets crew abandoning their car in a flood.
