Segment 1 • Chris Tomlin's The Last Supper movie raises major concerns. • Key issue: The portrayal of Satan and dramatic inaccuracies. • Would a lost person truly understand the biblical Jesus from the film? Absolutely not. Segment 2 • Chris Tomlin's presentation of an ancient hymn falls short this Easter. • Highlights: Nature, awe, and reverence—qualities many Easter services miss. • President's Easter Proclamation offers theological depth we should aim to emulate. Segment 3 • Paula White's influence on the President raises important questions. • Biden's Easter Proclamation is rich but lacks biblical focus. • A Missouri Senator's push to make Easter a federal holiday misses the mark, focusing on economics rather than faith. Segment 4 • Saturday Night Live misuses Jesus as a prop to mock Easter. • They avoid mocking Islam—why the double standard? • A Canton, GA pastor's response to critics reveals much about how Christ is perceived today. - Preorder the new book, Lies My Therapist Told Me, by Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford now! https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/liesmytherapisttoldme - Thanks for listening! Michael Kelley joins John Hancock in discussing the bid for Senator from St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney and wheather or not he will win against incumbent John Hawley.
Drs. John Schinnerer and Jim Bramson reunite to tackle the subjects of self-awareness and humility. They share their own missteps on this subject and can now laugh about it (tragedy + time = humor). In this interview, Dr. John (whom we lovingly like to call, the Caveman) takes us deep into his own cavernous mind and discusses the “death of ego” as a prerequisite to connecting to “source” (meta-consciousness). He opines about how the ego hamstrings our curiosity, psychological development, and narrative of “who we are” and “who we are becoming.” Dr. Jim and the Caveman deconstruct the movie “My Dinner with Andre” and Senator Josh Howley's new book “Manhood: The Masculine Virtues America Needs.” They break into laughter reading reviews on Howley's book which was seriously panned by critics. The book is a misguided portrayal on how men should show up in our society (much more “manly”) and how our society should show up better for manly men. Fortunately, Howleys' book did not reference Tucker Carlson's recommendation that men can return to their testosterone fueled dominance by tanning their testicles. Yet, there were other equally absurd assertions made by the Missouri Senator and fledgling author. This is the same guy who supported the January 6th insurrectionists storming the capital building (only to run away from them at the end). The Caveman and Dr. Jim delight in some old fashioned schadenfreude. Howley's book has the opposite message Dr. John wants to convey in his popular Podcast (the Evolved Caveman) or in his men's group he runs (for EBMC, Psychology, Inc). Dr. John does NOT want to normalize toxic masculinity (and he does not recommend tanning your testicles to become more manly). You may recall from our previous podcast with the Caveman, Dr. John consulted on the Pixar film “Inside out.” In this episode, he discusses the importance of men becoming curious and highly aware of their own feelings, not just anger and frustration, but the whole gamut of feelings. The aforementioned Pixar movie the Caveman consulted on illustrates the Internal Family System (IFS) model and the importance of EQ (emotional intelligence). In the film, the main protagonist learned how to be less agnostic about her own emotions. She learned to embrace her core feelings (or internal parts) and they connect her to what John refers to as “source” (i.e., sacred space, satori or nirvana).WCMI networking group A networking group for mindfulness-focused clinicians dedicated to learning together & collaborating for more information click here

Live from the Heart of America—I'm Steve Gruber—ready to deliver an inclusive and diverse discussion on the most important topics of the day—giving you better analysis and insight that anyone else—shining a spotlight on the cockroaches of the swamp—and delivering truth and justice just when hope was starting to fade— Here are the 3 Big Things you need to know to start today— Number One— Could the goat be running around in the pasture again—what I mean by that—is Tom Brady really considering—coming out of retirement again? Number Two— Two Americans are dead among the four attacked by assailants in Mexico—two are alive—and its not clear what happened—BUT the border war is spilling more blood into America— Number Three— The Blame Game—seems to be the sport of Kings—or at least the feckless weasels that think of themselves that way inside the buildings of power in Washington DC— Have you noticed how nobody—specifically politicians, ever stop to admit they are wrong that they have not done a good job—and that they can do better? Whatever happened to the proclamation of Missouri Senator turned Vice President turned President—Harry S. Truman and the buck stops here? The real game anymore is passing the buck as fast as possible and looking to point fingers at as many people as possible— The Democrats for their part have become pretty lazy about it—when in doubt shout racism out—or blame Donald Trump which to them has become the same—they don't care about truth, facts, protecting America or looking out for you— They care about protecting their gravy train—and looking out for themselves—the idea of public service—means giving away enough services paid for by somebody else to buy enough votes to punch yet another free ticket on that gravy train! When Nancy Pelosi and others refused to provide the 10,000 National Guard troops requested by then President Donald Trump on January 6th 2021—and things spiraled out of control—she of course blamed Trump—what else would you expect— In fact they were so hell-bent on blaming Trump—they assembled a hand-picked committee, rejected every Republican put up by minority leader Kevin McCarthy—added two never Trumpers who hated the President and went to work blaming for everything they could think of— It worked, and with no witnesses—no defense—and no evidence they were able to ram through a second impeachment on President Trump that was no more sound than the first—and just like the first it was laughed out of the Senate—BUT they thought they had scored the win—they had blamed Trump—and convinced millions of Americans that he had incited an insurrection and a riot—he had not— Now 44,000 hours of video tape that had been behind locked doors from that ugly melee in J-6 have been released—only to Fox News and Tucker Carlson specifically—BUT the new video shows a lot of things that were ignored or manipulated by the J-6 Committee and all the bought and paid for members of Congress—that rubber stamped whatever came along— I am going to give you one clear example— Tuesday the Blame Game ratcheted up to an all new level—as Democrats were furious that the whole thing had been outted for the garbage it really was— The White House was in an even bigger panic—making reckless comparisons between the mostly peaceful protest in DC—and other seminal moments in US history— And don't think its just the Demnocrats playing the blame game more than two years later—now that we have seen the footage come tumbling out from behind the curtain—there are plenty of rats and roaches on both sides of the aisle that are ready to point fingers—to continue the Orange man bad narrative— But this is just one of the Blame Games being played in Washington—I mean you can look at the border—either one now, North or South—you can look at the fentanyl crisis—you can look at the economy too—because nobody is willing to tell you truth— They may be short on answers—but I can tell you there is something they are not short on— Excuses! When it comes to crime—plenty of players in the blame game there too—I mean when people die—somebody has to be blamed—and rarely is it the ones running things—

Senator Josh Hawley Delivered a 14 page speech on the Left's supposed war on men. However, none of his points addressed any of the problems that the left has brought up - or the #metoo movement for that matter. It is a tough read of a speech - and harder to stomach once broken down - but provides a great window into the thinking of Hawley and the other Republicans that are taking up cause of populism instead of small limited government policies. That said - we have some fun discussing it.
