It's 1997. The Vikings are in financial dire straits, Denny Green is on the hot seat, the Metrodome's lease is expiring and the NFL is pressuring the Vikings to sell. Birmingham is starting to look pretty tempting. What happens next saved the franchise, and kept them in Minnesota. We'll cover the Nate Stanley news tomorrow, hopefully with a corresponding move to match
Arif and James are back to discuss Nate Stanley and what it means now that he's no longer on the team. Can we over-analyze every possible angle due to a lack of real news? We also go over the Ben Leber news on Kirk and Zimmer, look at the rest of the NFC North's offseason, and try to replace the opening coin-flip. *** So I have acquired a framed and signed (authenticated!) Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings Pick Prediction 8/21/2021 by Tony T. Colts at Vikings—NFL free pick is Indianapolis Colts +2. Colts quarterback rotation is Jacob Eason, Sam Ehlinger and Brett Hundley with the injury to Carson Wentz. Both Eason and Ehlinger saw action last week and combined for 25 of 36 passing for 310 yards in their win against the Panthers. With their starter out injured there is a sense of urgency now for the Colts to get a backup ready to start the season. Vikings rotation at quarterback is Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond, Jake Browning, Nate Stanley and Danny Etling. Minnesota opened their preseason with a 33-6 defeat to the Broncos at home. Quarterback play was poor as Kellen Mond and Jake Browning combined for 11 of 26 passing for 79 yards. Vikings defense in their loss to the Broncos surrendered 249 yards passing and 11.3 yards per pass attempt. Play Indianapolis +2.
Denver Broncos vs. Minnesota Vikings Pick Prediction 8/14/2021 by Tony T. Broncos at Vikings—NFL free pick is Minnesota Vikings +2.5. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer coaches winning in the preseason. They have won 16 of 21 and covered fourteen of those games. There is a handful in the Vikings quarterback rotation in Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond, Jake Browning, Nate Stanley, and Danny Etling. The Broncos quarterback rotation is Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater and Brett Rypien. Under Fangio the Broncos have lost and failed to cover three of five in the preseason. Zimmer wants to turn around his defense. He does have a good home crowd that supports his defense and have been waiting two years to cheer them. Play Minnesota +2.5.

Tyler is from Lake Orion, Michigan and joined the Iowa Hawkeye football team in 2014 as the class's scholarship QB. After seeing early success and comfortability within the program he was beat out by eventual 3 year starter Nate Stanley in 2017. Tyler transferred to Eastern Michigan the next semester and went on to have a very successful year as the QB for the EMU Eagles. He received his Masters in Human Nutrition from EMU and just now completed Year 2 of Med School. Tyler is a health and fitness fanatic, athlete, a very intellectual guy, and an all around great dude.
PLEASE EXCUSE THE AUDIO. My cat hit the mic right at the beginning of recording and I am not a fucking producer so its not like I could edit it, Listen or don't. You've been warned. Not that that's out the way. This week Sanel and I sat down to discuss the man, the myth, the legend....Nate Stanley. A North Star king and a hood hero. We've got some stories for you.We also discuss the Ghost in my house and why it's weird that society thinks men cannot be bisexual.Tap innnnnn. On Episode 32, Sam and Jack are joined by former Iowa QB and current Minnesota Vikings QB Nate Stanley to talk about his Iowa career, some highlights from that career, and how he even got to Iowa being from Wisconsin. We talk about his goals coming in to Iowa, what it's like to play in the Cy-Hawk game & the significance that comes with it, as well as detailing his preparation from a collegiate level to the pro level. We talk about his pregame routine including "Lose Yourself" by Eminem (every football players pregame song), how Iowa takes pride in being #QBSneakU, some stories from the Outback Bowl vs. Mississippi St. and Manning Camp, why he never wore sleeves and why he wore a visor. Keep your eyes peeled for Nate doing "The Griddy" in the next preseason.
We begin our two week positional breakdown of the Iowa Hawkeye football team and the schedule breakdown starting with the quarterback position and Iowa's season opener versus Purdue. How will Spencer Petras manage at the QB position after Nate Stanley has held down the starters spot for three seasons? I believe he will do better. Find out why on today's show. As for the Purdue game, that one is sneaky, and could make for a tough opening weekend for Kirk Ferentz's squad. Jeff Brohm has consistently found a way to exploit the typically unbreakable Phil Parker defense, and that scares me. We also cover the men's basketball team and their potential non-conference schedule.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Rock AutoAmazing selection. Reliably low prices. We're covering tomorrow night's matchup vs Northwestern. It's an opportunity for the men's basketball team to build a winning streak in a game many are expecting them to lose. In typical Northwestern fashion, they are a sound team that isn't exactly dominating any one statistic. If the Hawks can play their game, they should emerge victorious. Segment two has us covering Megan Gustafson and her dominant performance once again over the Wisconsin Badgers last night as the women won their 11th game. We also discuss her candidacy for Player of the Year and why she is the GOAT. Segment three has us diving into the 2020 quarterback battle in the post-Nate Stanley era. Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft. Episode 12 starts by taking a look at how Week 10 affected the College Football Playoff. With LSU's loss to Alabama, Notre Dame an Michigan are behind Alabama and Clemson with Georiga and Oklahoma the first two teams out. Gregg notes that Tua Tagovailoa has put up insane stats on the year while just playing in three quarters. However, while he's the odds-on favorite for the Heisman Trophy, could it be argued that fellow QB's and likely Heisman finalists Kyler Murray and Will Grier are more valuable to their teams? Gregg also talks quarterbacks for the 2019 Draft. Ryan Finley, Drew Lock and Will Grier are the front runners at the top of the draft class. Gregg also removed all underclassmen from his rankings until January when we know exactly who will be entering the draft. However, he does discuss why he feels Justin Herbert, Dwayne Haskins, Nate Stanley and Jarrett Stidham would all benefit from another year in school. If there is an underclassmen likely to enter the draft, it may be Tyree Jackson, who has led the Buffalo Bulls to an 8-1 record. The Wide Receiver class doesn't have the depth at the top in terms of viable 1st Round candidates, but the depth is in Day 2 and early Day 3 wideouts. While Marquise Brown, A.J. Brown and N'Keal Harry get all the hype at the top of the draft class, Kelvin Harmon is quickly emerging as a legitimate 1st Round candidate. Hakeem Butler and JJ Arcega-Whiteside are bringing the basketball mentality to the football field, while the Texas duo of Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Collin Johnson show of a tremendous catch radius., while David Sills V has a knack for finding the end zone. Buffalo's Anthony Johnson announced he's back with a huge game against Miami, OH. Gregg also mentions sleeper WR picks Preston Williams, Jonathan Duhart and Andy Isabella, all of whom are potential Day 3 picks who have a chance to make an NFL Roster.
