Was tun? Wenn der Heizkörper so warm wird, dass er glüht, informiert man am besten den Vermieter. "Dann gehen wir in den Heizungskeller und fangen mit dem Optimieren an."Gast? Hey, Hi, Hello There! The fellas are back at once again, this week we're talkin' Hagelin, as in Carl Hagelin. This Swedish forward has some supremely sick flow and won a couple of cups playing on Pittsburgh's vaunted HBK line in 2016 and 2017. He also scored 2 power play markers in front of more than 104, 000 fans while at the University of Michigan — so ya know, he's not just a fine head of hair! Then we talk about this past Friday's Jets-Stars marquee matchup, with an outcome that we saw coming, but the rest of the hockey intelligentsia didn't hold much hope for. We'll tell you what the Jets did right, and break down the rest of the season as we march towards the playoffs! Finally, we give you a quick Garage League of Hockey playoff update — your Chester's Chickens pecked out a win to stay alive, as cohost Tom ate some pre-game spaghetti and had himself a heckuva performance!

Complete episode notes here More Accounting Influencers with Rob Brown here Hock says the rapid shift in accounting standards is spawning a host of new specialty skills, including data analytics, cybersecurity, and automation. "When I took the CPA exam almost 30 years ago, it was paper-and-pencil," Hock recalls. "Now, technology is embedded in every aspect of accounting."

The boys are back at it with our last show for the month of January with a little episode that we're calling the MURPHY, in honour of a real beauty of an offensive defenceman — Larry Murphy! Not only is Murphs the only #55 to be enshrined in the Hockey Hall Of Fame, he was on the ice for arguably the greatest goal in Canadian hockey history — just check out his grin! Then we talk about an absolute beast of a trade between Carolina and Colorado, with a little Chicago sprinkled in. It's rare to see a player like Mikko Rantanen get traded, even rarer to see it happen in season. We break it down and talk about what it might mean for teams with UFA's looming, like your Winnipeg Jets! And then finally, we break down co-host Tom's weekend long hockey odyssey — ODR's and 4x4's, with a little GHL sprinkled in.
Udo Hock's Die rätselhaften Botschaften des Anderen. Zum Werk Jean Laplanches (The enigmatic messages of the other. On the work of Jean Laplanche), came out in 2024 with Psychosozial-Verlag, and collectes nine essays that Hock published over the past twenty years. Published in 2024 to celebrate Laplanche's centennial, these papers are a crucial contribution to Laplanche studies from one of its key actors. Hock is not only a reader and commentator of Laplanche, but also an editor and translator of many of Laplanche's German-language translations. Hock has a real eye for the complexities of Laplanche's work, and he thinks Laplanche together with other thinkers such as Žižek or figures of French Theory. Hock is steeped in French Theory and its milieu, of which he himself has been a member for the past forty years. He proposes to psychoanalysis a shift away from its monothematic anglophilia toward an appreciation of the French schools. I recommend reading closely these essays to anyone capable of reading German. They open up another Laplanche, the Laplanche of linguistic sublety and conceptual ingenuity. All the while Hock offers critical re-examinations of central psychoanalytic notions through his engagment with Laplanchian concepts such as seduction, mytho-symbolism or the message. The interview itself has a wonderfully explorative and open-ended quality. Hock really embarked on a journey of thinking, when he spoke of Laplanche, Lacan, Klein, and other other ideas central Laplanche's work. i greatly enjoyed this interview for its meditative quality, for the fact that Hock dwelled on topics, excavating what lies beneath the surface. Back at it on chilly Monday with an episode we're calling The Morris, after Derek Morris — a good stay at home defenseman who played 1100 plus games in the league with Calgary, Colorado, Phoenix and the Rangers. He wore the maple leaf a few times, notably winning a gold medal in 2004 at the Hockey World Championships on a team full of real beauties! Then, we tip our cap to our local tendy — #37 Connor Hellebuyck who just notched career win number 300, to go along with 43 (!!) career shutouts and 500 games played. Are we seeing the best goalie in the world right now in our own backyard? It sure feels like it most nights… And then it's all about the flow bro, as we talk hockey hair! The greasier and fluffier the better — all this, plus a trio of pop punk bangers from north of the border!

Minnesota Vikings News Dump for Thursday, December 26th. --- A Northern Digital Production
Matt is back with a review of the Minnesota Vikings' comeback win against the Seattle Seahawks and a preview of their upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers.Praise for Kevin O'Connell and shade at Jordan Love abounds!vs Seahawks DefenseBasically no rushing attemptsMan coverage on 3rd downsSome difficulty stopping players after the catch on successful drivesGeno getting ball out quickly mitigated pressureVery willing to throw 50/50 balls, incompletions to avoid sacks2 INTs, Turner and Jackson2 INTs dropped, Griffin and CashmanDifference between 2 JSN seams (Bynum/Murphy, Tampa 2/2 Man)DK TD vs Gilmore, JSN TD vs Murphy w/ motion and pick, Barner TD vs GriffinOffenseAttack match-y coverages with route combos (Jefferson 3rd down and Addison TD on first drive)Darnold strong pocket movement but seemed imprecise (high passes, 4th down to Hock, should have been TD to Addison, drop by Oliver, 3rd down Hockenson drop, a couple Jefferson catches - due to weather?)Not a lot of rushing - up and down performance by run gameOL - struggles from various players, Cam Robinson rough game, but mostly kept Darnold clean w/ good pocket movementvs PackersMy lack of respect for Jordan LovePackers run game vs our run defense is wild cardWill Packers be able to generate rush against shaky OL?With time, Darnold should carve up secondaryMatt Fries @friesfootball Nick Olson @nickolsonnfl@kindredskols on twitterAlso on BlueSky!We are available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcastsYoutube - Kindred Skols (link in Twitter Bio)
Halachot of Kriat HaTorah turned to Parsha Q&A… Why do we need to read 10 Psukim on Mon/Thurs??!! Gedolim stories… Mashiach is here??!!! Skipped a word, take out Torah AGAIN!!! Shneim Mikrah Hak!!
We're back at it this week, chatting about a real beauty — longtime Talkin' Hockey favourite, the mustachioed wonder, Mr. Dave Babych! If you've listened to the pod, you know the boys love Babs — we'll tell you about his time patrolling the blue line from Winnipeg to Hartford, from Vancouver to Philly and beyond! Then, we head down to the rink to catch some Garage League of Hockey action between the After Noon(an) Delights and Where The Frykas Randy — we've got some rinkside interviews with some league luminaries and in the third frame, we give you a break down of the Jet's week that was and touch base on a couple Central Division rivals.

Johannes Hock left private equity early in his career with the aim to build wealth faster through an exit after buying a business. In 2022 he bought DFW Turf and he's quickly grown the business from $5M to $20M revenue and +3 states through organic growth and additional acquisitions. He sees a path within a few years to $50M revenue and healthy EBITDA before an exit.
