Part of starting a new year often includes reflecting on the past. As part of the bridge series onramping to season 3, Lisa revisits a popular conversation from Episode 69 with Neal Phalora, a speaker, entrepreneurial mentor and human potential expert.  What parts of you do you bring into the new year? One of the reasons we have difficulty moving forward is because we are so anchored in the past. Leading yourself with the inner work is one way to get closer to your goals. In this episode you'll learn:  Mindset is not just about thoughts, but also about the energy and somatics of the body. Most of mindset work happens from the neck down. Vulnerability and compassion are essential qualities of effective leadership. Language has a powerful impact on our mindset and the way we experience the world. Grief is a necessary part of personal growth and letting go of the past. The journey of personal growth involves declassifying subconscious patterns, organizing thoughts and behaviors, and transforming the operating system. Altering brain states through practices like meditation can lead to greater self-awareness and resilience. Mastery and personal growth require dedication, practice, and embracing the gray areas. “Trade your inner critic for an inner coach.” Neal Phalora (18:26 - 18:29) Do you feel stuck and overwhelmed? Most people let their emotional constipation govern their everyday lives. We forget to take control, and we suffer in our careers, relationships, and health. Neal Phalora is known as the “Brain Warrior”. Neal blames the lack of education on the true power of the brain. Tapping into the power of your brain can crush limiting beliefs and make a bigger impact as an entrepreneur. Your brain is more powerful than you think.  “We leave our brains open and let everything come in and out freely without a bouncer at the door. Be the sherpa of your thoughts and feelings.” - Neal Phalora (32:42 - 32:55) Neal knew something was wrong with his body after getting accepted into medical school. He slept for hours on end, gained 65 pounds, and wouldn't leave home because of the directional confusion he struggled with. It wasn't until he met a functional doctor that he began to piece together life-changing concepts that helped him work his way back to health.  The scientific fact is that the human body is 99% space and 1% matter. Trillions of tiny cells reveal little to the naked eye, but they pack together like a big battery. At 1.4 volts per cell, you're a walking, talking, and fully charged Energizer bunny. Your Brain is a Powerful Radio Antenna  The concept of quantum interconnectedness describes how the energy within the human body communicates within the body. It travels down highways and along passages from organ to organ. The brain sits in the radio tower, and whatever it thinks, the body listens. Your thoughts and feelings guide the body into states of health, disease, abundance, or scarcity. You can flip your internal narrative, create a new version that serves you, and manifest a new reality!  Build New Pathways to Rewire Your Way to Success Ninety-eight percent of your current behaviors and thought patterns are hard-wired. If you've been thinking that you're unworthy for the last ten years of your life, then every part of you will believe you're unworthy. Fortunately, there are two techniques you can incorporate to cut off these old pathways and build new ones. The first is to ask yourself what you can do when you find yourself in a negative situation instead of why it happened. The second is to think of yourself as greater than you are. The goal is to empower yourself by focusing on the positive and potential rather than dwelling in reactionary victimhood.  “When we accept that our visual perception isn't the scientific reality, then the world becomes an open and expansive book where we can build the life we want to build.” - Janelle Lara (16:28-16:52)   The brain is the most powerful tool you have at your disposal. Using it to your advantage can transform your life, and you don't have to be overwhelmed any longer. Try to capture a sweet and savory moment. Put your hand over your heart, close your eyes, and hold onto that positive emotion as long as possible. You are rewiring the brain away from a negative bias and towards a positive one. You have the power to change your reality by simply taking control of your mind.  How to get involved Follow @theparttimeceopodcast on Instagram for special, podcast related updates!
