Reinvention is one of the oldest traditions in music. Some artists change their sound. Others change their image. The most compelling transformations, however, happen when an artist strips away expectations and finally allows themselves to create from a place of complete honesty. On The Day I Became Sacred Again, Baltimore artist Martian Man accomplishes exactly that, delivering a deeply personal and musically ambitious album that feels less like a reintroduction and more like a spiritual awakening.Formerly known as Swish Da God, Antoine N. Free Jr. reemerged as Martian Man in 2025 with a renewed creative vision. After spending years refining his craft, the Baltimore native chose to move toward a more soulful, vulnerable, and emotionally transparent sound. That decision pays enormous dividends throughout The Day I Became Sacred Again, a record that blends Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, R&B, and even flashes of Disco into a cohesive and remarkably immersive listening experience.

Diego Ruiz (born 1980, Colombia) a.k.a DFRA is a DJ and music producer based in Buenos Aires Argentina. During the years 2015-2021 he studied Music and Composition at the UCA (Universidad Católica Argentina), with a focus on classical and modern compositional genres and from an early age he acquired a taste for Hip Hop of the 80's and 90's, gospel music, Soul, R&B and Disco. He currently fuses Jazz, Soul, Neo Soul and Funk with House music and is characterized by a strong influence of House and Detroit sounds of the 1990s and 2000s. In his productions two facets are reflected, on the one hand the musicality of Jazz and Soul, fused with electronic elements and on the other hand some sounds more focused on the characteristic chords of Detroit and Chicago, more aggressive bass lines and 100% electronic percussion. During his career he has had the possibility of playing in several cities in Colombia, Argentina, Germany, France and Spain. He has released music on labels such as Groovin (IT), Hudd Traxx (UK), Mate (ES) among others. Today he is the owner of Silver Walker, a label whose music is inspired by all his musical roots and where he embodies the beautiful fusion of Jazz with electronic music. The project he is currently developing is DFRA Experience Jazz Band, where he works with Jazz musicians from the Argentine scene. He has a new release on Berlin-based label Ascension on Wax, and continues its deep, jazz-inflected trajectory with A Quiet Storm EP, arriving June on 12” vinyl and digital formats (Cat No: AOW005). After a brief generalized discussion on the medium of live albums and what they accomplish - we dive into Danny's pick, one of the most highly praised live albums of all time.Consisting of 7 songs that span across two vinyl discs, Danny's pick, "At Fillmore East," was the Allman Brothers Band's 3rd overall album. It serves as a document of their early 70's live show, which pushed them to levels of popularity that their studio albums couldn't. With a ragtag crew of two masterful drummers, one of the greatest guitarists of all time and the only person who could keep up with and out-compose him, a dynamic bass player, and soulful lead vocalist/organ player - their powers are on full display "At Fillmore East" with no overdubs necessary.A lesser-discussed but equally as powerful and moving live album is Erykah Badu's second overall album, simply called "Live." Julius's pick may have been a performance in-studio for industry professionals, but their enthusiasm and the tightness of all musicians involved allows you to become entranced with the live show Ms. Badu was bringing across the country to promote her debut, "Baduizm." D'Angelo's Brown Sugar sounded like nothing else in 1995. R&B was slick, polished, and built for clubs. D'Angelo later said the "deeper consciousness" had gone out of contemporary music. Questlove later wrote that contemporary R&B had become "trite" and "soulless" ... and then there was Brown Sugar, D'Angelo's debut album. It sounded more like the '70s than the '90s.
