The 2026 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting took place in Orlando, FL on June 9-10. There really was only one significant takeaway that perhaps showed that this organization and fellowship of churches just may be getting back to its roots. This was mainly seen in the enormous landslide passage of the Truth and Unity amendment, sponsored by Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Al Mohler. This amendment serves to give clarity to the existing pastoral article in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. The was the first step toward making this amendment part of the constitution of the SBC. It must win by over two-thirds vote once again during the SBC Annual Meeting that's scheduled in Indianapolis next year. Pray for the SBC. This year's meeting was a good step to restore some its principles and traditions that have long been held since its inception. What took place in the Texas primary on Tues, May 26 sealed a new era for GOP politics. Even with over $100 million poured into the campain of Senator John Cornyn, he was still crushed by his opponent, Attorney General Ken Paxton, challenging him for his seat by around 27 points. It was clear the Texas GOP voters were making their choices on issues over dollars in this election. The signs for this political earthquake were occurring throughout this campaign season, and finally produced the main lesson to be learned from this week. This is that President Trump is now clearly the leader of the Republican Party. This was sealed by an unprecedented 117-0 win rate by candidates he has endorsed in this primary cycle. In addition, this episode will cover the concerns and spiritual dangers of Paxton's opponent in November, Texas Rep. James Talarico. Tuesday, May 19, was a day of turning of the tide for the new Red Wave. Though 2Days Denarius as a channel does not often address political issues, this ministry understands the critical need of addressing politics on occasion, especially when it comes to moral issues and/or those that address the wellbeing of the citizens of our nation. There were large rumblings from the conservative base showing their anger in the voting booth recently in Indiana and the Louisiana primaries. And then it spilled over into Kentucky in a big way. One representative, Thomas Massie, who steadily voting against critical issues that would have aided the wellbeing of citizens, along with restoring election integrity, was voted out of office in a landslide. It is necessary to give attention to this trend as this voter turnout just may move the balance away from the challenging party this year when midterm elections come. That remains to be seen. But it's clear the conservatives in the GOP have become the moving force when it comes to showing what they expect of their senators and representatives. This week, President Trump posted a letter he had received in October 2025 regarding comments he made to reporters expressing hope that would have eternal life someday. When Evangelist Franklin Graham heard about this, he wrote a letter to President Trump explaining the Scriptural plan of salvation in Jesus Christ that all mankind must follow to receive everlasting life. (John 3:16; John 14:6). The fact that the president posted this document on his own Truth Social page shows that the letter had left some degree of impact on him. But the good news for us is that salvation in Jesus Christ is available to all of us. Unaware, the president in his own way, shared Christ as a witness without realizing it. Now the world can see the plan of salvation too! This episode addresses this letter and how it affects those who need to come to faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We live in a time of seeming vast spiritual decline and knowledge of the basic teaches of the Evangelical faith. Though this may be mostly due much to neglect of Scripture reading and knowledge, but even if there is reading going on out there, it still appears there's a great valley between what is read and how it is to be applied to our daily living. This episode focus on the lost doctrine of spiritual illumination. Evangelicals have traditionally believed that Christians should be active in their reading engagement with the Word of God and to pray for the illuminating power from the Holy Spirit to provide understanding of the Scriptures to be spiritual enabled to apply them to their lives. The providence of God is His working and sovereign control over our lives as Christians and the world, along with its nations as well. Without doubt, Christians around the world have suffered persecution throughout the ages. Many experience suffering for their faith even in our times as well. Nigeria has come into the spotlight recently mainly through a couple of unexpected sources: Bill Maher and President Donald Trump. Both shared strong words regarding the current situation, along with the struggles that began in Nigeria around 2009. Many have lost their lives, lost property, and many churches have been destroyed. It's time for Christians to come together in a concert of prayer for Nigeria and other countries around the world who endure similar trials and suffering. These are our brothers and sisters who are part of the communion of saints and require our prayers urgently as this time. This October 31st marked 508 years since Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. In the many years since this world-changing event, the Protestant/Evangelical church has gone through many evolutions. Some were times of great revival and others were times of suffering, wars, and into the 1800s, many new denominations were formed. Instead of recognizing the pagan Halloween day, it's important for Christians to remember their roots.
