A special-edition Over Coffee® podcast! We admit it. Like many other Southern Californians, we love the Orange County Fair. And tomorrow, July 17th, is IT--Opening Day! This time, it's virtual. Here's the link! Since 1890, the OC Fair's been a summertime celebration for Costa Mesa. Normally, the festivities start just after the Fourth of July and continues into August. Our favorite Fair memories include some amazing concerts at The Hangar, lots of Home Arts creativity, 4-H competitions, fireworks at night, pig races, acrobats, dancing to the music... And then, of course, there are those curly fries and hand-dipped ice cream bars. Which we sample purely for research purposes, of course (not). While this year's pandemic has forced closure of the Orange County Fairgrounds, it hasn't dampened the spirit of the Fair. After the OC Fair and Event Center Board of Directors voted to cancel this year's onsite event, they came up with ways to bring Fair fans some "Slices of the Fair"--virtually. Accordingly, starting this Friday, July 17th, the Orange County Fair will host virtual events--24/7--on their website. Terry Moore is Director of Communications at the Orange County Fair and Event Center. We talked about what "virtual Fairgoers" can expect, for summertime, 2020.
Jeff and Colleen attend WinterFest OC at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. Winterfest OC offered so many fun activities; Nightly Tree Lighting Celebration, fireworks and snowfall, Snow Play Area (including a slide), Ice Skating, Tribute bands, Tubing Slide, World largest ornament and rocking horse, Seasonal foods, treats and so much more. The post WinterFest OC – Ep. 30 appeared first on Ride Along with Jeff and Colleen.

A brewing controversy over removing horses and community equestrian stables from the state fairgrounds in Costa Mesa has awoken a decades-old argument over just who the fairgrounds serves; the community or the fair industry? A new community group, Friends and Neighbors of the Orange County Fairgrounds talks with Voice of OC Publisher Norberto Santana Jr. about their concerns regarding the future of the 150-acre property just off the 405 and 55 freeway interchanges in the heart of Orange County.
From building 10 at the Orange County Fairgrounds, Marie Hulett and Jeffrey Isbell interview a 12-year-old who has developed a special emergency backpack for dogs, volunteers from rescue organizations, a natural pet healer/behaviorist, and more! Pet Expo is a three-day event that features pet-related entertainment, pet productions, and adoptions of shelter and rescue pets. If you weren't able to visit Pet Expo today, the event continues tomorrow. Guests are encouraged to come visit the Pet Place booth and tell their pet adoption stories.
On this episode of Inside the Triple F, we talk about the Orange County Cruise-in and Ford sponsored Focus RS unveil. This event took place on July 2 at the Orange County Fairgrounds. We will also talk about our experiences at the show and share with you, two fantastic interviews. We talked with one of the first ever owners of a NEW Ford Focus RS and hear his opinions of Ford’s latest sports coupe: an all-wheel drive, 2.3 liter 350HP tire shredding monster with 'Drift Mode' standard. I also got to talk a good friend of ours, a friend to everyone who loves Fords and one of the greatest guys you could ever know, John Clinard, who also happens to be the Ford representative for the Fabulous Fords Forever car show. He has helped to bring some of the most beloved Fords to market, including a personal favorite of mine, the Ford Probe. Be sure to check out some of our pictures from this event in the album section!
