Who listens to you? In this message, VFC house church pastor, Tom Van Gundy shares how you can be a person that impacts lives for God. 2 Kings 5:1-8[1] Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master and in high favor, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper. [2] Now the Syrians on one of their raids had carried off a little girl from the land of Israel, and she worked in the service of Naaman's wife. [3] She said to her mistress, "Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy." [4] So Naaman went in and told his lord, "Thus and so spoke the girl from the land of Israel." [5] And the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing. [6] And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which read, "When this letter reaches you, know that I have sent to you Naaman my servant, that you may cure him of his leprosy." [7] And when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? Only consider, and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me."[8] But when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, that he may know that there is a prophet in Israel."This little maid lived a life that made others listen to her. Your walk talks louder than your talk. Her life exhibited characteristics that enabled God to move with power through her. 1) Selfless compassion - This little servant girl demonstrated love. She wanted the best for her owner. 2) Steadfast Conviction - The servant girl had faith. She had absolute expectancy. Luke 4:27 None were cleansed except Naaman the Syrian. She believes even though she hadn't seen it. 3) Servant Consistency - She served well as she waited in Naaman's wife.
We're back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, CONCACAF Champions Cup, Major League Soccer, Canadian Premier League, and national team chat and interviews. Vancouver Whitecaps' trip to Mexico City was not a happy one. A heavy 5-0 loss to Cruz Azul in the Champions Cup final saw the 'Caps outclassed and look a shadow of the team that got them to that point. A tough one to take, but it shouldn't fully be allowed to cloud what was a fantastic and galvanising cup run and the season so far. The worry is that there could be some lasting psychological damage in the coming weeks and we hear from head coach Jesper Sorensen about lifting the team up after this and getting back to winning ways. We also look at Michael's experience in CDMX both at the match and in the city, plus the breaking news that the 'Caps didn't come home with a trophy, but they did come home with gastrointestinal illness. We look at what went down, what it means for the game against Seattle at the weekend, and hear from Whitecaps CEO Axel Schuster. We've also got four interviews to bring you this episode as we turn our attention to the international game. With Canada preparing for the Gold Cup later this month, we chat with the man who is, for us, the current number one goalkeeper for the national team, Minnesota United's Dayne St Clair and talk with head coach Jesse Marsch about the development pathway in Canada and the role of League1. Nine Whitecaps are off to represent their country this international window. We talk with one of them, Giuseppe Bovalina, who is off to play for Australia's U23 side, about his move to Vancouver, life in MLS, what he misses about back home, and playing with the Olyroos. Plus we chat with another antipodean, former Whitecap Michael Boxall, about New Zealand's qualification for the World Cup and his international career. All of this plus music-wise, a solo Pete Shelley begins his residency as our Album of the Month, we've a Britpop song from The Bluetones, and Armchair Loyal are back in Wavelength. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode: 01.36: Intro - a cursed episode, the end of the lucky hat, and Club World Cup ticket prices slashed 09.28: VFC derby chaos as CPL refs take centre stage again 25.12: Heartbreak and humiliation for Whitecaps in Champions Cup final loss to Cruz Azul 59.25: Michael's trip to Mexico City - the highlights and lowlights 87.25: Will heavy final defeat affect Whitecaps' psyche? 96.33: Whitecaps hit by gastrointestinal illness following return from Mexico 121.40: Dayne St Clair interview 139.27: Michael Boxall interview 153.30: Giuseppe Bovalina interview 164.30: Jesse Marsch talks Canada's development pathway and the role of League1 172.20: Wavelength - Armchair Loyal - Chairman of the Bored
There's one bug that fish will eat that completely changes how you approach and fish a river. You'll be ready to make the most of this incredible hatch! Welcome back to another episode of the Third Sub Podcast! In this episode, Alex and Sam are back, as usual, this time to chat Vancouver Whitecaps, Vancouver Rise, Vancouver FC and Pacific FC. To begin, they dive into the latest out of the Whitecaps, who have continued their red-hot start to the 2025 season over the past few weeks. First, in the Concacaf Champions Cup, they managed to defeat Inter Miami 5-1 on aggregate across two legs in the semi-finals of that tournament, allowing them to reach the final for the first time. Now, they'll play a Cruz Azul team that has been in excellent form in this competition, of which they're one of the winningest teams historically, in what should be a fantastic final between two fun teams to watch. Meanwhile, in MLS play, the Whitecaps are also continuing to cruise, as they still sit atop MLS's Supporters Shield standings, having continued to pick up big results in league play despite juggling their CCC responsibilities. Now, things don't get any easier for the Whitecaps, who have three MLS matches and one Canadian Championship clash to deal with before the CCC final, but based on how they've been playing, they'll just try to keep the good times rolling as they get set to tackle a crucial three-week period. Elsewhere, the BC Canadian Premier League teams have been off to mixed starts to their campaigns, with Vancouver FC now finding their feet in league play after a slow start, while Pacific is looking to recover after a strong start turned into a mini-slump. So far, Vancouver has the edge between these two teams, especially after defeating Pacific in the preliminary round of the Canadian Championship, something they hope gives them momentum going forward, but Pacific will be pleased they bounced back from that VFC loss with a big home win vs. York United days later. Lastly, the Vancouver Rise have continued their start to their inaugural campaign, sitting second in the NSL standings through four matches. Despite that, they've got plenty to work on, especially offensively, although they'll be pleased with how organized they've been defensively, giving them a good base to build on as they look to find more goals going forward. Make sure to check out The Third Sub Podcast on Twitter, @thirdsubpod, as well as on Instagram, @the3rdsub_.

Catching fish on a dry fly is like MAGIC -- when it actually happens. As much fun as dry fly fishing can be, it also presents some unique challenges you have to overcome. You need to find your fly after you cast it, you need to make an accurate cast, and none of that matters if you don't have the right fly in the first place. This is the day everything changed. We celebrate Easter not just to recall a moment, but to remember a mystery: that even death couldn't stop God's plans. in this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares that the resurrection is not just a nice story—it's the unstoppable truth that redefines reality. Why is the resurrection such a big deal?Christians talk about the cross a lot, but the empty grave is the key to our faith.Romans 6:8-9 MSG When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.If the cross is Jesus' death for me, the empty grave is Jesus' life for me.If the cross gets me into heaven, the empty grave gets heaven into me.If the cross reveals Jesus as savior, the empty grave reveals Jesus as victor. If the cross paid for my sin, the empty grave means that the payment was accepted. You can have confidence that the resurrection happened. In addition to the 4 independent documents attesting to the historicity of the resurrection called "the gospels" - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. We also have many eyewitness testimonies that people saw Jesus after his death.1 Corinthians 15:3-6These disciples suddenly and sincerely came to believe that Jesus was risen from the dead, despite there being no benefit to them believing it. Two Biblical authors, James and Jude, believed their brother Jesus was God. What would it take for you to believe your sibling was God? The stone was rolled away, not to let Jesus out, but to let us in—so we could see that what He said is true. Shortly before Jesus' death and resurrection, He made one of His boldest declarations.John 14:6 NLT Jesus' way is unstoppable.Jesus is protecting you when He shows you His way because He is the only road that leads to life.Proverbs 14:12 NIVBottom line: You cannot get to a kingdom destination by following the culture's directions. Jesus' truth is unstoppable.Jesus is the reality check the world didn't ask for, but desperately needs. John 8:31-32 The truth that sets us free in found in only in Christ. The resurrection is the exclamation point on everything Jesus ever said. Jesus' life is unstoppable.Jesus didn't escape death; He conquered it. John 11:25-26 Your story doesn't have to end in despair, defeat, or death. In Christ, your story ends in resurrection. Jesus doesn't only offer you a better life; He offers you eternal life. If you're feeling lost—He's the Way. If you're questioning what's real—He's the Truth. If you're barely hanging on—He's the Life. This is Easter. When the devil said "checkmate," God said, "The King has one more move."Jesus is the Way that can't be blocked, the Truth that can't be silenced, and the Life that can't be killed. Is Jesus your way, your truth, and your life?

**Interview with Dr. Samara P. Cardenas: A Pediatrician's Forced Retirement after Refusing to Administer COVID Vaccines**Dr. Samara P. Cardenas, a California pediatrician, recently forced into retirement after refusing to administer COVID vaccines to her patients as young as six months old. For over 45 years, Dr. Cardenas operated a thriving pediatric practice in Anaheim, California, primarily serving low-income families. She had always adhered to recommended health protocols, including routine vaccinations for children. However, when COVID emerged, the children in her community rarely contracted the virus. Dr. Cardenas noted that the likelihood of dying from COVID as a child is approximately 1 in 2 million. This statistic contributed to her decision to withhold the COVID vaccine from her patients, as she was aware of adverse reactions reported by others. She communicated her concerns to various governing agencies, including Vaccines For All (VFC), CalOptima, and the Children's Hospital of Orange County, which oversee vaccination protocols. Initially, they permitted her to continue practicing. However, the situation changed when her office manager attempted to order more childhood vaccines. The VFC denied the order due to Dr. Cardenas's refusal to administer the COVID vaccine. As a result, the government agencies reallocated her patients to other doctors. To gain deeper insights into this situation, listen to the complete interview.Contact: drsamarapcardenas@aol.comWebsite: https://oneinterviewoneworld.com Episode Credits:Produced, edited, and mixed by Lanie Kay Links:Be sure to follow and tag One Interview One World on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oneinterviewoneworld/ and Instagram: Https://www.instagram.com/oneinterviewoneworld/ Thank you for listening!

Do your words matter? In the message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares why we should tame our tongues. Taming the Tongue is learning to use our words according to God's design. What if your ability to speak isn't just a gift from God for you, but a gift to others through you? James 3:2-62 "Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. 4 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. 5 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.6 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself." 1. Scientists believe since the tree lives in an area where there are more toxic plants than normal, it has grown an overdeveloped defense mechanism to protect itself. For many of us, like the manchineel tree, our words have become toxic fruit used as a defense mechanism. Receive healing for yourself so you will stop hurting everyone else. Do you speak as if your words matter?

We're back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, Major League Soccer, Canadian Premier League, Northern Super League, and Canadian national team chat. What a weekend of disappointment it was for both lower mainland teams, as Vancouver Whitecaps couldn't avoid the MLS Wild Card game and Vancouver FC couldn't make the CPL playoffs at all. We kick the show off with a look at the Whitecaps stuttering into the postseason, their latest loss to RSL, and the tough task ahead on Wednesday down in Portland in the play-in game. Can they suddenly re-find their spark and who should be the guys trusted to do that? We also look at the BC Place stadium debacle that has seen the 'Caps have to play their earned home game on the road - the latest in a long line of PR headaches for the club this pivotal anniversary year. Moving on to the CPL, we look at how the last weekend of the regular season played out and look ahead to the postseason. One that saw joy for Pacific as they clinched a playoff berth and heartbreak for Vancouver, as their season came to an end. Where did it all go wrong for VFC after such a good start and what changes need to be made? Turning our attention to the women's game, we hear some tasty tidbits about the Northern Super League from Diana Matheson and discuss how things are shaping up six months out of First Kick, and Katie Collar talks about joining the Canadian national team coaching staff. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode: 01.45: Intro - it's been a wet one 07.25: Whitecaps in MLS Play-in game after RSL loss 25.35: Timbers playoff preview 48.17: Stadium debacle the latest PR nightmare for Whitecaps 80.10: The CPL playoffs are set - Pacific postseason bound 96.45: Vancouver FC's season is over 132.15: Diana Matheson audio 148.10: Northern Super League discussion 163.18: Katie Collar talks joining CanWNT staff 171.25: Wavelength - State Waste - Punk Rock Football Player
Is doctrine important? In this message, Pastor Eric Robertson tells us how the Bible helps us know how what to think about God. We are thinkers by nature. We are curious by nature. Have you ever looked up at the stars at night and wondered how in the world they got there? Proverbs 25: 2 It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them. Our beliefs shape our actions, and our doctrine determines our direction. Doctrine gives us the proper glasses to view the world and ourselves. Doctrine gives us answers to the questions of our hearts and allows us to live out those truths. What is Doctrine? Doctrine Informs · The word doctrine comes from the Latin phrase "doctrina" which means teaching and instruction. Doctrine is the teaching of scriptures that provide a framework for us to grow in our knowledge of God and spiritual maturity. · You should want to grow in your knowledge of God! · 1 Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." · 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that the Bible is God's inspired Word that is good for teaching · Doctrine isn't the end, it is the means to the end. The end goal is to know Jesus. Doctrine Transforms · The purpose of doctrine is transformation not just information. · Isaiah 55: 11-13 · Good doctrine bears good fruit. Bad doctrine bears bad fruit. No doctrine bears no fruit. Prioritizing Doctrines · Doctrinal differences have caused a lot of division throughout church history. Usually, the disagreements are about non-essential issues. This is a core belief of VFC: if someone professes Jesus as the Son of God and the only way to salvation, we consider them a member of Christ's family and a brother or sister of ours. · Love is prioritized over belief. Belong, Believe, Become. · 1 Corinthians 8: 1-3 Building Your House · For me, reading the Bible for doctrine is a lot like building a house. There are 4 essential things that every house needs. 1. Foundation: Matthew 7: 24-27 24 2. Walls: Our theology must make us distinct from the world. You can't help the world if you believe like the world. We live in a culture that is searching for identity by destroying boundaries. Boundaries define who you are and what is yours. Romans 12: 2 3. Roof: A roof protects us from the elements, and good doctrine protects us from harmful beliefs and behaviors. Galatians 1: 6-7 4. Door: The door to our theological house is always Jesus. John 14: 6 Where do you get the materials? The Bible! The Bible is our home center. The Bible provides the raw material that we need to build our theological house on a solid foundation. How to Read the Bible for Doctrine: 1. Question 2. Scripture 3. Community 4. Construction 4.1 (Remodel) Deconstruction to Reconstruction.

The way your flies are rigged impacts your ability to present them in as realistic a way as possible. And since our goal is to fool fish into thinking our fake fly is the real thing, you can see how important it is to correctly rig your flies. In this episode, Spencer Durrant walks you through how he rigs his dries, nymphs, and streamers, sharing the exact steps he uses after 20 years of fly fishing, a few years of guiding, and teaching thousands of new anglers here at VFC. Are your views of sex biblical? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares what the Bible says about sex. This message does not target anyone, VFC does not hate anyone, everyone is invited to worship, and questions are welcomed. We're looking at sex from a biblical perspective today and see which beliefs we hold are cultural, and which are scriptural. There are three ways Christians typically view sex: dirty, idolatry, or holy 5 Biblical truths about sex:1. Sex has a designer.Genesis 2:25 When unaffected by sin, sex a good gift from a good God. 2. Sex has a purpose. The designer of a thing determines the purpose of a thing.Sex has two main purposes: Creating children. Spiritual glue1 Cor. 6:13 Sex is not just a physical-only activity like food is. 1 Cor. 6:15-17 Sex is joining yourself to another person. There is no such thing as a one-night stand because sex, by design, stays with you after its over. There is no such thing as "just sex." 3. Sex has boundaries. In order for sex to remain good, it must be used according to the designer's purpose. Helpful things become harmful things when used outside of their boundaries.Fornication, or sexual immorality, is any sexual activity outside of God's boundaries and beyond God's purposes.1 Corinthians 6:18 God's biblical behavioral boundaries for sex:One man, one woman, consensual, and protected by marriage commitment. The following behaviors are types of sexual immorality:- Sex before marriage. (Christianese, part 2: Fornication - June 11, 2017) It's dangerous to bond yourself to someone who hasn't committed to you. - Co-habitation. (Elephants in the Room 2018, part 1: Aug 5th 2018) - Pornography. (More Elephants, part 3: Aug 21st 2016) Porn is sin: it hurts the people in it, it hurts the people watching it, it hurts marriages, it is addictive like the worst drugs, and its one of the main reasons why human trafficking exists. - Homosexuality. (Loving the LGBT Community, Aug 25th 2019) Same sex relationships are not God's design for humanity. Because of our sin nature, we are all born with desires that are outside of God's boundaries for sexual behavior, Having a desire is not a sin; acting on it is. - Incest, Bestiality and Rape. The Bible records these things but never condones these things. - Adultery. (Elephants 2021, part 2 - Aug 8, 2021) Adultery is devastating to a marriage because it destroys the very thing a marriage is based on—trust. 4. Sex should be a regular part of a healthy marriage.Since sex is for marriage, sex should be good in marriage.1 Corinthians 7:2-5Practice good sex! 5. You can receive forgiveness for sexual sin.Sexual sin is not unforgivable sin. If you've made mistakes in the past, you can be free.1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Repent, receive his grace and make Jesus Lord of your sex life. Become a holysexual. Have you surrendered your sex life Jesus?

Who is in charge of the church? Continuing this series about the church, Pastor Jamie shares about church authority. What is a church?Ekklesia - a church is an intentional gathering of people who follow Jesus. It's not a building, it's a spiritual family. Who is in charge of the church? Jesus is in charge of the church.Colossians 1:8 NLT "Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body."Ephesians 1:22-23 NLT Jesus is in charge, but He uses leaders to care for His body.Ephesians 4:11-13Jesus gave us some going-away gifts. He left us with the Holy Spirit, His written word, and He left us with leaders who have been gifted and commissioned to help us all grow spiritually. In the church, everyone is a minister, but not everyone is a leader. Things you need to know about church leadership:1. Leaders are stewards. Matthew 28:18-19aLeaders of the church are simply stewards of Jesus' authority.James 3:1 NLT "Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly."2. Leaders are servants. Mark 10:42-45Don't wait to get your life together before you serve others. Serving others is how you get your life together. 3. Leaders are imperfect and incomplete.1 Timothy 1:16 Don't ever try to get from a leader what you can only get from the Lord. We don't follow people, we follow Jesus.4. Some church leaders are bad leaders.Jeremiah 23:1-2Leaders who have unquestioned authority, exert control over you, require you to get permission from them, practice elitism and utilize shunning are engaging in spiritual abuse. RUN. 5. Leaders are necessary. Hebrews 13:17 "Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit."Acts 20:28-30We need shepherds because there are wolves out there, and shepherds lay their lives down for the sake of the sheep. It's time for you to get healed from church hurt. The Lord told me years ago that he was going to send people to VFC that had been wounded.Proverbs 14:4The church is plan A for bringing the Kingdom to earth and there is no backup plan. Church is a spiritual hospital – you will find sick people. Church is a spiritual gym – you will find out-of-shape people.God lives among the mess. We should as well. Are you embracing church authority?

V.F. Corporation shared its latest earnings report on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, offering key insights into the company's recent performance, challenges, and future strategic intent. CEO and President Bracken Darrell articulated the story of the company's past successes, attributing its growth to broad acceptance from cultural trend makers, celebrities, and families, while acknowledging a potential misstep in overlooking the core youth audience that had previously invigorated the Vans brand. The corporation's recent performance, marked by a 17% decline in total revenue in the past quarter, highlighted several challenges. These concerns included warm weather, difficult year-on-year comparisons, less than expected outcomes in the Americas region, and a cyber incident. Despite these setbacks, the company announced their commitment to overcoming these obstacles and getting back on track. In order to counter these challenges, V.F. Corporation has outlined a clear direction for the future, built around four key strategies: reviving performance in the U.S. market, executing a brand turnaround for Vans, implementing cost-cutting measures to increase efficiency and profitability, and strengthening their financial backbone for corporate resilience. The corporation's endeavors have also drawn attention to the importance of understanding consumer behavior. In particular, they have identified consumer confidence, seasonal shifts, and product resonance with the core audience as pivotal factors driving consumer decisions. The company emphasized the need to stay connected to youth trends and culture, as they realize the significant role this demographic plays in their growth strategy. Looking forward, V.F. Corporation has pledged to drive results through an operational redesign, brand revitalization initiatives, cost-cutting measures, and robust financial resilience strategies. Central to these initiatives are innovation and sustainability, which the company sees as crucial for not just product development, but also for targeted marketing and aligning growth with environmental and social responsibilities. While the third quarter presented its share of challenges, the V.F. Corporation's commitment to strategic investment and significant improvement underscores the company's resolve for long-term growth and success. Looking ahead, the corporation envisions overcoming these hurdles, emerging as a stronger and more resilient entity to continue delivering value to its shareholders and customers. Despite these challenges, the key takeaway message from the CEO remains consistent with the sentiments expressed earlier in the discussion, highlighting the corporation's unwavering belief in its strategic direction.
