Tonight he was handed a huge opportunity to rocket into title contention in just his 2nd UFC bout when ‘Denisa’ toppled Reyes, via 2nd Rd knockout with a wicked spinning back elbow. In the co-main, we had a FW tilt between WEC & UFC mainstay, veteran contender Cub Swanson & rising star, Giga ‘Ninja’ Chikadze, a power striker who was coming at this bout off a 7 fight win-streak, & an overall 12-2 record. Chikadze captured the biggest win of his MMA career in 63 seconds, when he scored a vicious 1st Rd TKO liver kick over Swanson. This was the defining performance the ‘Ninja’ needed to make his move toward the FW top 10. He’s now 6-0 since joining the UFC back in 2019 & has earned himself a pretty significant fight his next time out, which Chikadze hopes is a matchup with former UFC champion Max Holloway. Our 3d big bout of the evening had Ion Cutelaba & Dustin Jacoby facing off in a LHW clash. After an excellent fight, the bout was declared a split draw. Overall, this now 11-bout card saw 2 exhilarating 1st Rd KO/TKO finishes, including our main event, as well as 1 DQ, 1 Draw, no subs, and 7 decisions - including 2 Split. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Jiří Procházka & Giga Chikadze; FOTN honors went to Jiří Procházka vs. Dominick Reyes. What a night of fights we have to share with you, join us to discuss all the action... Here’s a look at the UFC VEGAS 25 RESULTS & UPDATED FIGHT RECORDS: ESPN/ESPN+ MAIN CARD | SAT. MAY 1 12. Tenshin Nasukawa is a Japanese kickboxer and is currently making headlines this week as Floyd Mayweather's newest opponent. While Japanese fans will be watching their boy Tenshin do what he does best, it has been reported although not confirmed that Floyd may be exploring uncharted territory. While several experts, as well as regular joes online, doubt it, rumor has it that Floyd may be trying MMA. Whether this is true or not, this is going to be a fight for the ages. Literally, the two have an age difference of twenty-one years. But what makes that fight especially interesting is that Tenshin is a relative unknown. When the fight was first announced, many people from around the world were asking who Tenshin Nasukawa was, with several news publications referring to him in the headlines as an actual mystery man. If you're one of those people typing his name into Google for the first time, you'll be happy to know that Mr. Mayweather has his work cut out for him, Since the age of five, Tenshin has been cleaning up in martial arts, practically wiping the floor with fighters from around the world and since 2014 he has dominated the kickboxing ring. With a current record of 27 and 0, this kid has little stopped him from being one of the deadliest fighters in the history of his sport. That is if Floyd puts a hurting on him come fight night this New Year's Eve. To get into the spirit of good ol' prize fighting, we decided to do some research into this young twenty-year-olds beginnings. And to think he was kicking in the ring before he even graduated high school.

UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz was a night full of upsets, most notably Nate Diaz beating Conor McGregor in the main event, and Miesha Tate finally winning the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship that had eluded her for years. We spend the first half of this week's episode recapping the entire night of fights, and also try to figure out where the UFC goes from here in the build-up to the quickly approaching UFC 200 in July. In the second half of the episode we take a quick look at the week in MMA news including Wanderlei Silva's deal with Rizin Fighting Federation, Paige Van Zant on Dancing With The Stars, and Greg previews the Invicta FC 16: Hamasaki vs. Brown event airing live this Friday night on UFC Fight Pass. Hosted by Steve Jeffery, David Abraham and Greg Persson. Listen to us Wednesday nights at 6:30pm on CFMU 93.3 FM, and online at http://www.thehammermma.com, Last Word On Sports, The Itunes Store, Stitcher, MMAPodcast.com, Player.FM, find @SteveJeffery on Twitter, or just email us.
UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit's main event featured an early Fight Of The Year contender, although the result of the UFC Welterweight Championship match wasn't without controversy. This episode we are joined by Fight Companions host and soon-to-be Fight Network Intern Kevin Ferreira to discuss Robbie Lawler's split decision victory over Carlos Condit, as well as the rest of the UFC 195 card. In the second half of the show we run down all of the week's MMA news including Rizin Fighting Federation results, Martin Kampmann's retirement, and the announcement of Ronda Rousey hosting Saturday Night Live.
Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit straight up did the damn thing last weekend at UFC 195, Universe. These two evenly matched welterweights put it all on the line for 25 minutes of greuling MMA action and emerged … well … they emerged more or less as equal as before the fight started. That's not optimal, but it was sure fun to watch. On this week's Co-Main Event Podcast, Ben and Chad look back on the awesomeness of Condit-Lawler and then look ahead to try to figure out exactly what the UFC will do now at 170-pounds. In addition to that, they ponder fondly the weird spectacle that was Rizin Fighting Federation's inaugural events and try to figure out exactly what's on deck for Fedor Emelianenko. All that, plus AYFKM, Just Sayin' Stuff and MasterTweet Theatre.

You hold in your hands--metaphorically, at least--the last CME podcast of 2015. With no way to adequately sum up the rollercoaster ride of this year in MMA, Ben and Chad don't even try. Aside from some short recollecting during listener mail (listener mail!) this episode sticks pretty much to business as usual. Because business never stops, right? This week your dudes take a look at Saturday's UFC 195 welterweight title bout between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, which promises to be good fun for everybody except maybe the guy who loses. In addition, they puzzle over the debut of Rizin Fighting Federation (including, after all this time, Fedor Emelianenko vs. Jaideep Singh) and the strange Christmas Eve announcement that Anderson Silva and Michael Bisping will fight on The Fight Pass Dot Com in February. All that, plus AYFKM and JSS.

On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman spoke with MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Wallid Ismail, who is the founder of the Brazilian MMA promotion Jungle Fight Championship. Jungle Fight 82 takes place Saturday, October 24, 2015, in Clube Sírio in São Paulo, Brazil. The main event is Ciro "Bad Boy" Rodrigues vs. Eric "Parrudo" Barbosa. Jungle Fight shows are televised on the Band broadcast network in Brazil and ESPN Deportes in the U.S. Beyond Brazil, Jungle Fight is gaining more international recognition. Wallid has just returned from Japan, where he was part of the inaugural press conference held October 8 introducing the newest Japanese MMA promotion, the Rizin Fighting Federation. This new organization was founded by former executives of the Pride Fighting Championships, which from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s had been the largest and most important MMA promotion in the world. Unlike other organizations, Rizin will work with many other companies around the world, without requiring fighters to sign exclusive contracts with them and leave their promotions. Jungle Fight is one of those companies. We spoke with Wallid Ismail by Skype this past Tuesday. Speaking of Rizin and its head, Nobuyuki Sakakibara, he said, "I think it's going to be great for the sport. It's going to be great for Japan, because no matter what, to doing good in Japan needed to be a Japanese. Because he understands the market, he understands everything about the TV deals, the sponsorship deals in Japan, is very different [from] the United States." Unlike many others, however, he does not see Rizin as competing with UFC. "UFC do a great job all over the world. And I think Rizin's coming to help the sport," he said. Rizin is "going to be another organization can help the sport, especially in Asia and Japan." He thus described UFC as sort of a "World Cup" of MMA, while Rizin will be a "World Cup of Clubs." And he said he and Jungle Fight plan to continue working with UFC as well as now also working with Rizin. Much of the fight card for Rizin's debut show, the Rizin Fighting World Grand-Prix 2015, a three-day extravaganza scheduled for the week of New Year's Eve from December 29 to December 31, remains to be finalized. But he plans to have fighting on that show the Jungle Fight bantamweight champion, Maike Linhares, as well as also possibly a heavyweight. We also discussed how Jungle Fight's ratings dramatically increased when its shows moved to broadcast TV on the Band network in Brazil from cable, plans for an English-language telecast aimed at the U.S., how many fights on Jungle Fight's cards end in knockouts or submissions and have lots of action, and much, much more.
