Locked On Zags - Daily Podcast On Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball
Four Gonzaga Bulldogs, Andrew Nembhard, Julian Strawther, Drew Timme, and Chet Holmgren, participated in at least part of the 2022 NBA draft combine this past week. Holmgren and Nembhard aren't coming back to Mark Few's squad next year, but Timme and Strawther's performance this week gives us some clues as to whether the pair will be back in Spokane next season or not.Today's episode discusses what some of the results mean for our Zags. Strawther shot the heck out of the ball, but will his underwhelming measurements and the fact he didn't participate in the scrimmage hurt his draft stock? Timme played well in the scrimmage and has a very desirable wingspan, but his agility testing was subpar - so what does that mean? The second segment is a seven minute interview with Gonzaga transfer Efton Reid, conducted by KREM's Brenna Greene. Reid talks about his time in the transfer portal and why he believes GU is the perfect fit for his game. Finally, we end the week sharing a lovely story of passionate fandom for Gonzaga, starting with Ronny Turiaf's afro and ending with the passing of baseball associate head coach Danny Evans for Fan Story Friday: https://linktr.ee/LockedOnZags.Locked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.

Darrah Brustein's success is an excellent example of what a life lived "by design" looks like. She has leveraged technology to work with professionals from the global community, but it wasn't always easy for her... Over the past decade, Darrah has turned to experts around the world for mentorship to help her attain her success and design an intentional life. Stumbling blocks happened along the way, and, as she overcame them, she became focused on sharing with others how they could avoid the same pitfalls. To give back to others who want to design their lives too, Darrah has brought together 45+ of her mentors and peers into a 3-day virtual summit that's starting Wednesday, September 12th at 10 AM EST. There's an incredible speaker lineup that includes people like Deepak Chopra, Kat Cole, Adam Grant, Jen Sincero, and Ronny Turiaf! They and 40+ others will be speaking on a ton of lifestyle design topics for FREE to help you design your ideal life. It's their and Darrah's way of giving back and teaching all of us how we can live a life by design, not by default. Life just seems to "happen" to so many of us, and, in a lot of cases, it's because we’re accepting the defaults that life throws at us. We are not seeking out to design our lives and create the things we truly desire. By doing nothing differently, we’re accepting a "life by default." Day 1: The First Steps To Designing Your Life: Internal Work & Defining Success for Yourself Day 2: Fund The Life You Want: Designing Your Career Or Entrepreneurial Journey Day 3: Achieving Success Through Intentional Relationship Building & Networks On day two, I am running a free session for anyone thinking about starting their own podcast, so I would love to see you there for my free session streaming on September 13th at 2:30 pm. What is most true to you? How are you living it? "I think for me what is most true to Ronny is the desire to never stop discovering and for me the discovery is limitless. Discovery of myself. Discovery of others. Discovery of what the world has to offer. This inner voice inside of me that is always giving me advice and direction of where should I go, where should I not go." -Ronny Turiaf, NBA basketball player, world traveler and a truly generous soul and friend. In 2012, I sent jewelry from my company, Adesso, to a stylist for a couple of NBA players. One of them, Ronny Turiaf, loved the pieces but beyond that, was moved by my personal story. We had something profound in common. We both were cruising along in our early 20’s, feeling healthy when we were told that we were sick inside and needed surgery. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age 21, and Ronny, after being drafted by the LA Lakers right out of college at age 22, was told he had an enlarged aortic root in his heart that required immediate surgery. We both made it to the other side and are probably the better for it, but the trauma of those experiences, including having your life turned upside down and then quickly put back together again with little time to process what happened, changes you. Ronny called me for the first time on his way to the celebratory parade for his 2012 Miami Heat NBA championship. We went deep fast and that call was the beginning of our powerful friendship. We understand and learn from each other, and crossed paths in this lifetime to encourage the doing of great things. It was at dinner about a year and a half ago with Ronny that I first vocalized the dream of Last Cut project. I knew I wanted to highlight people’s stories through their internal and external scars, and here we are. Ronny shares his most recent last cut, which was an allowance of time and space for deep self-discovery off the basketball court.
