BTG Editor David Chadderton spoke to Sidi before the Festival about the creation of the show, looking back on life after turning 50, his changing views on the attitudes of his late father, who died 30 years ago, as he has got older, blinkered, stereotypical attitides towards Arab men and queer men in society and much more. Voilà 100 jours que Sidi Ould Tah a pris la tête de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD). Et, le banquier mauritanien affiche déjà une action positive pour ses trois premiers mois : la levée mardi 16 décembre de 11 milliards de dollars pour le Fonds africain de développement. Une hausse de 23 % par rapport à la précédente session des donateurs. Et, ce, malgré la baisse drastique des enveloppes d'aide au développement cette année. Le président de la BAD explique ses ambitions pour l'Afrique dans un environnement financier en recomposition. Il répond à Sidy Yansané   RFI : M. le président Sidi Ould Tah, vous êtes à Londres pour la réunion des donateurs du Fonds africain de développement, le FAD, qui est, pour le dire simplement, une cagnotte réservée au financement de projets dans les pays africains les plus pauvres. Et cette semaine, le FAD a recueilli 11 milliards de dollars. Un montant que vous qualifiez d'historique.   Sidi Ould Tah : Absolument ! Nous sommes pour l'élan de solidarité historique que nous venons de connaître, qui devrait nous permettre, au cours des trois prochaines années, de mieux répondre aux attentes des populations africaines, en particulier les 37 pays les plus fragiles et les moins dotés de l'Afrique. Du coup, cette année, qui sont les principaux contributeurs ? Malgré le contexte international que nous connaissons tous et qui se caractérise par des pressions fiscales importantes et aussi des pressions sur les ressources, les partenaires du FAD et les pays africains ont décidé ensemble d'augmenter leur enveloppe dans cette 17ᵉ reconstitution du Fonds. C'est un message très fort de solidarité avec l'Afrique et pour l'Afrique. Et aussi un message très fort des Africains pour la prise en charge de leur propre développement. Justement, vous vous félicitez de l'engagement de l'Afrique dans son propre fonds. 23 pays du continent qui ont contribué à près de 183 millions de dollars. Une véritable transformation, vous dites. Mais finalement, 183 millions sur un total de 11 milliards, cette transformation que vous vantez est-elle bien réelle ? Ce qu'il faut regarder au-delà des chiffres, c'est le geste lui-même. Je crois que c'est la dynamique qui commence et ça montre quand même un engagement très fort de la part des pays africains. Si on rapporte ce montant au PIB des pays africains contributeurs, on se rend compte quand même que l'effort est considérable. Mais ce qu'il faut aussi regarder, c'est la volonté commune des deux parties d'aller au-delà de l'aide publique au développement pour aller vers l'investissement, vers le partenariat économique, tout en prenant compte de l'intérêt de nos pays donateurs. Parlons de ces partenaires. Avant de prendre les rênes de la BAD, vous teniez pendant dix ans ceux de la BADEA, la Banque arabe pour le développement économique en Afrique, notamment financée par les pays du Golfe que vous connaissez bien. C'est cette « nouvelle génération de collaborateurs à grande échelle », comme vous le dites, que vous comptez développer ? Il ne s'agit pas d'individualiser des partenaires contre d'autres. Ce qu'il faut voir, c'est l'ensemble des partenaires de l'Afrique. Le continent a toujours reçu un appui constant de la part de ses partenaires historiques, et cet appui continue et se renforce. L'arrivée d'autres partenaires ne fait que renforcer ce partenariat, et ne diminue en rien le partenariat existant. Nous avons consacrée tout une journée au secteur privé avec un certain nombre d'acteurs financiers. Nous sommes à Londres qui est une place financière internationale. Dans ce cadre, le FAD pourrait jouer un rôle important dans l'atténuation du risque perçu dès qu'il s'agit du continent africain, de quoi rassurer les investisseurs et permettre le développement des projets transformateurs dans les différents pays africains. Revenons sur la Banque arabe pour le développement économique en Afrique, qui s'engage à donner jusqu'à 800 millions de dollars pour le développement en Afrique. Engagement similaire de l'OPEP à hauteur de 2 milliards de dollars. Ce sont les sommes annoncées par la BAD que vous présidez. N'y a-t-il pas là une alternative aux contributeurs habituels ? Vous savez, les besoins de l'Afrique sont immenses. Annuellement, on estime ces besoins de financement et de développement à 400 milliards de dollars. Donc, toutes les contributions sont les bienvenues. Toutes les participations sont nécessaires, que ce soit à travers la mobilisation du secteur privé, qui doit aussi jouer un rôle important dans la mise en œuvre des projets d'infrastructures, la transformation des matières premières, le secteur de l'énergie, des transports, les ports, les aéroports, les chemins de fer, mais aussi dans le domaine digital. En novembre, vous étiez présent au G20 organisé en Afrique du Sud et boycottée par Washington. Comment comptez-vous composer avec la nouvelle politique américaine des deals pour paraphraser le président Donald Trump, notamment sur les matières premières ? Les Etats-Unis ont toujours soutenu la BAD et continuent à la soutenir. Et nous travaillons en étroite collaboration avec nos actionnaires dans l'intérêt du continent africain. Le rôle de la Banque est un rôle de financement du développement et de mobilisation des ressources pour le continent africain, et nous continuerons à le faire, y compris avec le secteur privé américain comme la DFC, comme US Bank. C'est les projets qui vont contribuer à l'amélioration du bien-être des populations africaines. Medio siglo desde que 350.000 marroquíes entraron en el territorio del Sáhara Occidental, entonces controlado por España. Nuestro país se retiró y, desde entonces, miles de saharauis siguen desplazados en campamentos de refugiados. En el informativo 24 horas de RNE hemos hablado con Tesh Sidi, portavoz de Más Madrid. Sidi nació en los campamentos de refugiados de Tinduf en 1994 y ha confesado que "cualquier niño que nace en un campo de refugiados nace mayor. Nosotros no tenemos derecho a la infancia y no la conocemos." Sidi ha explicado lo qué ocurrió hace 50 años: "la Marcha Verde es un pacto entre Juan Carlos I con Hassan II de Marruecos a través de EE.UU.", ha dicho y ha reivindicado que "España no solo dejó el Sáhara de facto, es todo el obstáculo en estos 50 años hacia los ciudadanos de origen saharaui."Escuchar audio

C'est au troisième tour, avec 76% des voix, que le candidat mauritanien Sidi Ould Tah a été élu président de la Banque africaine de développement, le 29 mai dernier à Abidjan. Le score paraît très confortable, mais jusqu'au deuxième tour, rien n'était joué, car le Zambien Samuel Maimbo gardait toutes ses chances. Quelles sont les vraies causes de la victoire de la Mauritanie et quel rôle a joué secrètement le président Ghazouani ? En ligne de Nouakchott, son ministre des Affaires étrangères Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug dévoile les coulisses du vote, au micro de Christophe Boisbouvier. RFI : Le docteur Sidi Ould Tah est le dernier candidat à s'être déclaré et pourtant il a gagné. Comment vous expliquez ce paradoxe ?Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug : C'est un long processus. La campagne et puis le travail diplomatique sérieux ont commencé bien avant la déclaration formelle de sa candidature étant entendu que le travail qui a été fait l'année dernière par le président de la République pendant son mandat en tant que président en exercice de l'Union africaine a été un peu le terreau fertile sur lequel nous avons construit toute notre stratégie.Toute l'année dernière, c'est le président de la Mauritanie, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, qui était à la tête de l'Union africaine...Tout à fait.On dit que, dès le début de cette année, le président ivoirien Alassane Ouattara vous avait dit qu'il serait derrière la candidature du docteur Ould Tah. Est-ce que c'est à ce moment-là que vous vous êtes dit : « On peut y aller, on peut annoncer sa candidature » ?La décision a en effet été prise par le président en concertation avec beaucoup de chefs d'États africains et en particulier avec son excellence le président Alassane Dramane Ouattara qui est un ami personnel et qui a été un soutien important pour notre candidat.Dès le début de cette année ?Dès le début de cette année, oui.Quand le docteur Ould Tah s'est lancé dans cette campagne, il n'était pas le favori. Tout le monde pensait au Zambien Samuel Munzele Maimbo, qui avait été vice-président de la Banque mondiale. Comment avez-vous relevé ce défi ?Pour vous parler franchement, dès le départ, nous n'avons jamais douté qu'il serait élu parce que nous avons, je pense, recherché le consensus et essayé de convaincre mais surtout d'être persévérant. Tout ce travail a été fait avec beaucoup d'humilité.Vous n'avez jamais douté parce que vous aviez déjà fait un travail souterrain et que vous aviez fait vos calculs. Vous saviez que vous aviez déjà un certain nombre de pays avec vous ?Tout à fait. Sous l'autorité directe du président de la République, on a donc essayé de ratisser large tout au long de l'année 2024.Et le plus gros contributeur africain, à savoir le Nigeria, il était pour qui ?Il a voté pour le candidat mauritanien.Dès le premier tour ?Dès le premier tour. Ça, ça a été décidé depuis très longtemps. Depuis février 2025, bien avant d'ailleurs.D'accord, mais le Nigeria a été très discret sur le candidat qu'il avait choisi. Il ne l'a pas dit jusqu'à la dernière minute...La discrétion est parfois le bon choix. Je peux vous assurer qu'excepté l'un des plus gros contributeurs qui avait un candidat, tous les autres ont voté pour le candidat Sidi Ould Tah.Oui, l'Afrique du Sud, évidemment, a voté pour sa candidate...Bien entendu.Mais vous dites que, outre le Nigeria, l'Égypte, l'Algérie et le Maroc…Tout ce que je peux vous dire, c'est que tous les plus gros contributeurs africains ont voté pour le candidat Sidi Ould Tah. Sidi n'a pas seulement été élu, mais il a été plébiscité.Il y avait donc les gros contributeurs qui ont voté pour votre candidat. Et puis il y a des petits contributeurs. On pense notamment aux trois États du Sahel, Mali, Burkina, Niger. Est-ce qu'ils étaient de votre côté ou pas ?Ils ont voté pour le candidat mauritanien. Il suffit de prendre une calculette, voilà.Par quel tour de force avez-vous réussi à être soutenu à la fois par les pays de l'AES, Mali, Burkina, Niger et par la France ?Il n'y a pas de contradiction. De toute façon, ce sont des actionnaires, donc chacun décide en fonction de ses intérêts.À quel moment avez-vous reçu le soutien de la France ?Durant le processus que je viens d'évoquer et qui a été un long processus. Mais qui a été un processus constructif et efficace. Il y a eu des discussions et des échanges avec l'ensemble de ces pays qui ont voté pour le candidat de notre pays.Mais est-ce que la France a voté pour votre candidat dès le premier tour ?Je pense qu'ils doivent avoir voté dès le premier tour. À ma connaissance, ils ont voté dès le premier tour pour le candidat Sidi Ould Tah.Il y a les États-Unis de Donald Trump. Ils ont voté pour qui ?Je ne le sais pas. Mais nous respectons leur choix.Ils n'ont pas voté pour vous au premier tour ?Pas à ma connaissance mais je ne peux pas répondre à leur place.On dit que c'est grâce essentiellement aux voix des Africains que le docteur Sidi Ould Tah a été élu. Parce que, chez les non régionaux, les votes étaient plus hésitants. Due to the high unemployment rate in Tunisia, both Tunisians from various regions and refugees depend on slow trains for their daily commute to Tunis. The sluggish pace of these trains adds an extra layer of challenge to their journeys, as evident in the accompanying recording. Many individuals undertake a daily trip to Sidi Bou Said, aspiring to secure employment in this artistic and laid-back seaside village often referred to as the "Tunisian Santorini." Amina (Amina) es un relato de vampiros del escritor norteamericano Edward Lucas White (1866-1934), escrito en 1906 y publicado originalmente edición del 1 de junio de 1907 de la revista The Bellman. Eventualmente, Edward Lucas White revela que Amina es un Ghoul, y que aquellos niños son su última camada de crías [ver: Danny Glick y los niños-vampiro de Stephen King] Finalmente, el cónsul intercede y dispara a Amina dos veces.
