How has Gonzaga found so much success in basketball? :30- It's been quiet for the Seahawks as the new league year begins. They are one of only two teams who haven't signed anyone new. JERRY PALM (PalmBrackets.com) The college basketball season is winding down and we finally have some time to focus on it with less than a week left in the regular season, so it's time for our annual chat with Jerry. He's a Purdue Boilermaker, so we have to start with his thoughts on rival Indiana suddenly being a football school. Is CBB feeling very top-heavy this year? Looking at the potential March Madness brackets, is there any seed lower than a 3 that would have a chance to win it all? How impressive is this freshman class? And Remember the days when college basketball players stayed for 3 or 4 years? Sigh… How are the Zags looking heading into March and what will that loss at Portland cost them? Who are some sleepers we should keep our eye on? :30- IAN FURNESS joins the show on the heels of the Kraken's first game back after the Olympic break, a 4-1 loss in Dallas. Last night's game was a dud, but it wasn't surprising to Ian, so he's not worried. Now, if the same thing happens tonight against a bad Blues team, then we might have a problem. The Kraken have been streaky all season long, is Ian worried about that continuing? When this team is cooking; what are the things they're doing well? :45- The Seahawks have the 32nd pick in this year's NFL Draft, but this year seems primed for a John Schneider trade down to add more picks. Pierwszy otwarto w Leningradzie w 1959 roku, rok później – w Moskwie.Zapraszam na odcinek!

Not one, not two, how about THREE court storms on Wednesday night and we're talking about all of 'em here on CSN. Matt Norlander joins Stephen Hartzell to break down all the drama from the weekday games, including Portland's shocking upset of the Zags, college basketball's latest villain, and BYU's road win problems. Hartzell dunks on Duke's on-court shoes from Tuesday night, plus a mea culpa on Darryn Peterson after his heroics (and 35-minutes played) in Lubbock earlier in the week. Speaking of heroics, how 'bout the Billikens?! Josh Schertz is the head coach at Saint Louis and he joins the show to talk about the incredible season they're having in the A-10, including serving drinks after last weekend's win, Robbie Avila's foggy goggles, and being 'bullet-proof' as a team on both sides of the ball. Really good stuff from Schertz - including his Super Bowl pick and preferred food spread for Sunday's game - followed by a weekend preview and some brief DMB Summer Tour discussion on 'Now Spinning' to wrap the show. The Zags snap their two-game losing streak at the Kennel to Saint Mary's and dominate on the defensive end in doing so. Well, that and Graham Ike going for 30 in his return. Saint Mary's, on the other hand, walks away with more questions than answers. Are they in trouble?Meanwhile, Santa Clara continue to make its tourney case.

Braden Huff goes down for 4-8 weeks and the Cougars prowled and Redhawks circled, but the Bulldogs turned them away, with sheer chaotic energy and boundless talent, the Zags showed that it will take more than bad luck to unmoor their excellence. Also, we're gonna bamboozle the Waves and the Dons, because they're not very good. Stick around until the end to hear about a time so long ago that Pepperdine was Gonzaga's chief WCC rival! Our tour begins on the frigid rolling fields of the Palouse, where the Cougars will hope to shrug off their generally poor basketball skills and give the Zags a decent run. After taking in the sights and sounds of the Eastern reaches, the Gonzaga men will cross the scablands, ford the mighty Columbia and scale brave the Cascade passes to reach the fair Emerald City, where they will take on the Redhawks of Seattle University. Can the Redhawks repeat their impressive defensive performance in the Kennel? Or will they revert to their more recent form at 1-4 in conference? The FIB boys will make their predictions known. We'll close with a discussion of frustrating sports f-ups. Support the show at pateron.com/freeirabrown.

Gonzaga barely escaped the firece talons (beak? whatever) of the Redhawks of Seattle University, then proceeded to float merrily into their home tilt against the Lions of LMU. Much like the lion tamers of old, the Zags gently placed their head into the Lions' mouth, giving it the false sense of power, before pulling back and unloading their blunderbuss into the beasts heart. Too much metaphor? Maybe. In any event, the FIB boys will walk you thorugh both games, speculate further on Mario Saint-Supery's love life, and sing the praises of his highness of efficiency, Braden Huff. We'll then take a look at the upcoming game against Santa Clara, in which a high flyn' Broncos team will hope to steal some of the Redhawks' Kennel mojo (they will fail). The Dedeaux Download Podcast returns with Shotgun Spratling and podcast co-host Kasey Kazliner breaking down USC baseball's 3-1 week that featured a series win over Gonzaga and a dominant midweek win over Long Beach State. Shotgun and Kasey break down all the action, looking at the positives of the Trojans improving to 26-14 with an 11-7 mark in Big Ten play and a fourth-place spot in the standings behind only two ranked teams and Iowa. They discuss the play of Adrian Lopez powering the offense all weekend against the Zags as well as Ethan Hedges seeming to get back on track after a rough spell. Shotgun and Kasey also look at how the Trojans were able to bounce back after dropping the opener against Gonzaga with some uncharacteristically sloppy play thanks to the bullpen stepping up throughout the week. The podcasters also look at three negatives, including Kevin Takeuchi reinjuring his left shoulder during Tuesday's win at Long Beach and the RPI hit that one poor game can have as the Trojans start looking toward the postseason. After a break, USC head coach Andy Stankiewicz then joins the show to talk about how the Big Ten schedule, including the back-and-forth travel, has treated his team and how his players have handled and adjusted to the differences and challenges. He also discusses how the Trojans have tried to deal with a spate of injuries with multiple pitchers lost for the season as well as Takeuchi's shoulder issues. Stankiewicz then takes the listener through some strategic thought processes of how he tries to use late-inning opportunities in blowout games as well as how he handles his star players being in a funk, especially later in the season. The Trojan head man chats about Hedges, Lopez, Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek, Caden Hunter, Andrew Johnson, Jack Basseer and others. Shotgun and Kasey close out the show taking a look at where the Trojans stand after winning another series and taking a peek at where the Trojans could wind up in the postseason. The podcast then previews USC's upcoming week of action with the Trojans heading to Minneapolis to take on an injury-riddled Minnesota team that continues to battle despite 11 significant injuries, including five of the season-ending variety.
