The ACC announces a nine-game conference schedule that doesn't even apply to all of its teams, creating uneven standings, future tiebreaker chaos, and more questions than answers. Gary breaks down why the league's decision makes no logical sense, how Notre Dame scheduling complicates everything, and why this move could make conference races even messier. The discussion then shifts to Georgia Tech roster fallout as quarterback Aaron Philo enters the transfer portal, staff members follow Buster Faulkner to Florida, and the realities of portal tampering continue to expose how little enforcement actually exists. The episode wraps with Lane Kiffin once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons — from late-night texts to beat writers to bizarre public behavior that raises the question: does Kiffin actually want to be unlikable?

In a stunning new legal twist, Danity Kane alum Dawn Richard is taking on Sean “Diddy” Combs once again — and this time, the allegations reach all the way inside a federal prison. According to newly filed court documents on November 5, 2025, Richard's attorneys claim that Diddy tampered with a key witness in her civil case while incarcerated. The alleged incident, said to have occurred in September 2024, underscores what prosecutors have long warned: that Combs' influence and intimidation didn't stop at conviction. Her legal team wrote that “there is no indication that Combs' ability or willingness to act on his threats ever ceased,” arguing that even from behind bars, the Bad Boy mogul continued to manipulate the narrative and maintain control. Prosecutors in Diddy's federal case echoed similar concerns last year, citing a “pattern of witness tampering, obstruction, and coercion” when opposing his bail — which the court denied four separate times. Dawn Richard's lawsuit claims years of physical and emotional abuse, retaliation, and intimidation during her time under Diddy's label. She says the fear never ended — and that his alleged attempts to interfere from prison prove it. Meanwhile, Diddy's legal team continues to deny all wrongdoing, calling these civil suits opportunistic. But with each new filing, the walls around his empire seem to tighten. In this Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski breakdown, we go inside the new court filings, the psychological dynamics of control, and what this could mean for Diddy's appeal, Dawn Richard's case, and the larger reckoning shaking the entertainment industry.

On October 19, 2025, around 2:26 p.m., the Rankin County Sheriff's Department responded to a shooting at Bridgewater Apartments, 500 Avalon Way, Brandon, MS 39047, where a juvenile male had been physically assaulted by two assailants and then shot at as they fled in a silver four-door car. Investigators processed the scene, collecting shell casings, and reviewed surveillance video confirming the assault and gunfire. Based on evidence and witness testimony, 16-year-old Xavior Balderas was identified as the suspect; a search warrant executed at his home around 8:31 p.m. recovered his face mask and clothing from the incident. On October 20, Balderas made his initial court appearance, charged as an adult with Drive-By Shooting and Tampering with Physical Evidence, with the investigation ongoing and further arrests possible.
Federal prosecutors accused Jeffrey Epstein of witness tampering after discovering that he wired $350,000 to two potential witnesses or co-conspirators shortly after The Miami Herald published its 2018 exposé on his sweetheart plea deal. Prosecutors argued the timing of these payments showed a deliberate attempt to influence testimony or buy silence as new federal charges loomed. These revelations added weight to their claim that Epstein used his wealth and connections to manipulate the justice system and obstruct accountability for his sex crimes.Epstein's defense team requested that he be released on house arrest with an ankle monitor while awaiting trial, proposing that he remain confined to his $77 million Manhattan mansion. Federal prosecutors opposed the motion, pointing to the witness tampering payments as proof he posed a danger to witnesses and the judicial process. They also argued that his access to private jets and immense wealth made him an extreme flight risk. The judge ultimately sided with prosecutors, keeping Epstein in custody until his death a month later.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

It has been determined by many researchers in the scientific community that during hypnosis, false memories are very likely to be generated, and distinguishing them from real memories is difficult, if not impossible without some means of confirmation. This is, for instance, the conclusion of a report for the U.S. Department of Justice by Martin T. Orne et al. titled “Hypnotically Refreshed Testimony: Enhanced Memory or Tampering with Evidence?” published January 1985 in Issues and Practices in Criminal Justice. With the above in mind, it is helpful for researchers attempting to evaluate a case when a distinction can be made between elements of the report derived from conscious recall and elements derived through the use of hypnosis. A case where this can be easily done is that of Judy Kendell of Zamora, California, thanks to a newspaper article announcing her intention to undergo hypnosis to recover around four hours of missing time, and another article in a different paper after the procedure, which was, apparently, well attended. Elliotte Friedman has suggested twice in the past week that the Kirill Kaprizov contract situation makes him believe that there is tampering going on. Will the NHL do anything about it? Can they? It's been a tough month for hall of fame goalies as Bernie Parent and Ed Giacomin passed away last week. All this plus we look to the upcoming season and what we might expect with some off the wall predictions. Listen Here: Apple Podcasts Direct MP3 iHeart Radio Title Player Dallas Drake Shoutout - Nathaniel from Edmonton -been listening Sending stickers News Kirill Kaprizov - turned down 8 x $16,000,000 Friedman: ON 32 thoughts said his take was that since it didn't get accepted, Kaprizov's camp must believe they have an offer higher elsewhere. He then said on The Fan Hockey Show - “I do believe there has been tampering going on. I'll never be able to prove it, but I believe it.” Will this be the case where the NHL finally gets to drop the hammer on teams. Who is it? Oilers McDavid - waiting for Kaprizov to sign largest deal? Friedman says he thinks when McDavid signs, we will be very surprised at how low it will be Zack Hyman - will be out for a month at least recovering from wrist surgery Key Departures / Losses Player Role / Impact What the Oilers Lose Evander Kane Big, physical winger; provided playoff grit; scored some clutch goals in their run. New York Post+3ESPN.com+3NHL+3 Loss of experience, net-front presence, and some scoring ability on the wing. Cap space freed up. Puckpedia+1 John Klingberg Veteran defenseman, could move the puck and helped on power plays. Daily Faceoff+1 Leaves a gap in puck-moving defense; need someone to replace his skill set. Daily Faceoff Corey Perry Veteran winger, presence in locker room; some scoring and depth contributions. ESPN.com+1 Less veteran depth up front; more need for younger players or middle-6 to step up. FlamesNation Major Additions & Re-Signings Player What They Bring / Role Expectations or Potential Andrew Mangiapane (F) Free agent wing; solid two-way game; brings energy and speed; adds depth to forward group. NHL Likely to slot into middle-6; expected to provide secondary scoring and help in puck retrieval/forecheck. NHL Curtis Lazar Depth forward; solid veteran; can move between lines; helps with penalty killing or bottom-6 work. NHL+1 Probably not a game changer offensively, but gives the Oilers more stable options in depth and more flexibility in line matchups. NHL Evan Bouchard (D) Re-signed to a long(er) deal; one of their young top-defensemen; carries big responsibility. NHL+2Puckpedia+2 Expected to be a top pairing or heavy minutes defenseman; important part of their transition and stability at blue line. Puckpedia+1 Vasily Podkolzin (F) Signed a 3-year extension; was fairly productive; brings physicality (hits/blocked shots) as well as modest offensive contributions. Reuters+1 Should see him keep developing; potentially more trusted in key situations; might take on bigger role if injuries or slumps hit. Reuters Defense & Goaltending Defense: Largely stable. Outside of Klingberg's departure, many of the same names remain. There's some competition for depth defense spots: Ty Emberson is in the mix, as is Troy Stecher. Daily Faceoff+1 Key defensemen (like Bouchard, Ekholm, Nurse, Kulak, and Jake Walman) will need to hold up; some have had criticism but generally the group is considered good, if not perfect. Daily Faceoff Goaltending: The plan is to stick with Stuart Skinner as the “starter” with Calvin Pickard backing him up. The Hockey News They brought in a new goalie coach (Peter Aubrey) to try to improve that tandem rather than making a big signing or trade in that area. The Hockey News Cap / Roster Space & Composition The Oilers are tight on cap space. They currently project very little wiggle room (just a few hundred thousand) under the cap. Puckpedia They added some depth cheap, and held on to core players like Bouchard, Draisaitl, McDavid, etc. Puckpedia+2NHL+2 The forward group has been revamped a bit — more balance, more depth. Mangiapane and Lazar add to that. NHL+1 What to Watch / Weaknesses & Question Marks Goalie performance — with essentially the same tandem, how much improvement will come from coaching changes vs. in-net execution? If Skinner or Pickard struggle, the team may regret not pursuing a more proven backup or starter. Defensive consistency — the blue line has high expectations, especially with departures and aging players. How well do the depth defenders perform? Will the pairings hold up under playoff pressure? Secondary scoring / depth contributions — losing Evander Kane is a noticeable hit in terms of grit and clutch goals. The burden will shift more onto middle lines and depth forwards to chip in. McDavid contract / future — McDavid enters 2025-26 in the final year of his current contract. There is active discussion / confidence from management that he'll sign an extension, but the uncertainty looms. Reuters Special teams — penalty kill was mediocre last season; power play always under the microscope with McDavid/Draisaitl. How much the coaching tweaks help will be critical. Daily Faceoff LEAFS Major Departures Player Role / Impact What They Leave Behind Mitch Marner Top-6 forward, key playmaker. Trailed Auston Matthews on many scoring charts. Big offensive void, particularly in assists and secondary scoring. Reuters+1 Ryan Reaves Enforcer / physical presence, veteran depth forward. NHL+1 Less physical grit, fewer intimidation matchups. Need others to pick up that edge. Pontus Holmberg Depth forward, role player. NHL+1 Loss of depth, especially useful in centre / bottom-6 roles. Max Pacioretty Veteran winger, scoring ability though recent decline. NHL+1 Leaves space for younger wingers or new signings to step up. Others also left / not re-signed: some depth forwards, fringe roster spots. hockeypatrol.com+1 Key Additions & Signings Player What They Bring Role / Expectations Nicolas Roy Acquired in the Marner trade. Good two-way forward, can chip in scoring from bottom 6. Reuters+1 Matias Maccelli Younger forward, decent upside. Could slide into top-6 if needed. NHL Dakota Joshua Physical forward, heavy hitter, adds depth. Reuters+1 Henry Thrun Defenseman acquired from San Jose. Adds youth / depth on the blue line. NHL Michael Pezzetta Signed to a two-year deal. Depth forward, physicality. NHL Re-Signings & Extensions John Tavares agreed to a 4-year extension. Provides veteran leadership and scoring. Reuters Matthew Knies signed a 6-year, $46.5M deal, becoming more of a foundational piece. The Times of India Goaltending: Anthony Stolarz is in contract extension talks after a strong season. The Times of India Roster & Cap Implications The team loses a high-impact forward (Marner), which both frees up some cap & puts pressure on finding or developing scoring elsewhere. The Hockey News+2hockeypatrol.com+2 Expect more responsibility for existing players (e.g. Knies) and for new arrivals like Maccelli or Roy to fill the offensive gaps. Depth players and prospects are in line to get more opportunity. Names like Easton Cowan, William Villeneuve, etc., are under watch. NHL What to Watch / Question Marks Who steps into top-6 scoring alongside Matthews and Nylander. That line is going to be more scrutinized this season. How the Leafs adjust defensively with the incoming younger D-corps (Thrun etc.), and whether the blue line depth is improved. Goaltending consistency: Stolarz's extension talks suggest they want stability there. Joseph Woll's role likely stays important. The Hockey News Whether the loss of Marner and Pacioretty will hurt in the playoffs more than during the regular season, especially in tight matchups. Murdaugh's Get-Out-of-Jail Card? Analyzing the Jury Tampering Claims Every family has its secrets, but the Murdaugh's built an empire on them. In this segment, we peel back the layers of the family's carefully constructed public image to discuss the generational dysfunction that led to ruin. The conversation explores how powerful families can hide their darkness in plain sight, and how "small-town justice" can create an environment where secrets are currency and accountability is for other people. This brings us to the explosive core of Alec Murdaugh's appeal: the Becky Hill scandal. Was the former Colleton County Clerk of Court an impartial officer of the court, or was she an active participant in securing a guilty verdict? We dive deep into the damning allegations of jury tampering, exploring claims that Hill improperly influenced jurors, pushed her own narrative, and was motivated by a lucrative book deal she was writing during the trial. This isn't just about Murdaugh's guilt or innocence anymore; it's about the very integrity of the legal process. Was Murdaugh denied due process? Even if you believe he's guilty as sin, the procedural arguments being made could set a dangerous precedent for the entire justice system. We debate whether the evidence of Murdaugh's financial crimes—which made him look like a monster—unfairly prejudiced the jury in a murder trial. It's a fascinating look at how a case can be won or lost not on the facts, but on the conduct of those in power. Alex Murdaugh's defense team has filed a 79-page response challenging prosecutors' efforts to block his request for a new murder trial. His lawyers argue that the state's opposition is flawed and maintain that Murdaugh was denied a fair trial due to alleged jury tampering by Colleton County Clerk Becky Hill. Although Retired Chief Justice Jean Toal denied a retrial—despite finding Hill not credible—Murdaugh's attorneys insist that key evidence was ignored, forensic findings were misrepresented, and irrelevant financial evidence was used to distract from the lack of proof tying Murdaugh to the murders of his wife and son. In this episode we discuss the defense team's strategy and the possibility of Murdaugh getting a new trial with attorney Matt Siembieda. Matt Siembieda is an attorney and law professor at Temple Law School. Seton Tucker and Matt Harris began the Impact of Influence podcast shortly after the murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh. Alex Murdaugh Appeal EXPOSED: Prosecutors DENY IMPACT Of Jury Tampering Claims The battle over Alex Murdaugh's murder conviction just hit another explosive chapter — and this time, it's the State firing back. In a newly filed 182-page brief, South Carolina prosecutors are urging the state supreme court to reject Murdaugh's push for a new trial, despite allegations of jury tampering by court clerk Becky Hill. Hill allegedly told jurors during the trial to “watch his body language,” a comment Murdaugh's defense team says crossed the line and poisoned the verdict. They argue that when a court official makes a statement like that, the law should presume prejudice — and that presumption alone should be enough to warrant a retrial. But prosecutors aren't conceding an inch. They describe Hill's conduct as “foolish and fleeting,” not the kind of influence that changes the outcome. They point to the January 2024 evidentiary hearing, where retired Chief Justice Jean Toal found no credible proof the remark affected deliberations. And they remind the court of the evidence that sealed Murdaugh's fate: the kennel video placing him at the crime scene minutes before the murders, his repeated lies about being there, and the phone data locking him into the timeline. The State also defends the week of financial-crime testimony — which the defense claims was unfairly prejudicial — saying it established a clear motive. They argue that even if Hill's comment was improper, the evidence against Murdaugh was overwhelming, making any misstep harmless. Now, with Murdaugh's team preparing their reply and oral arguments expected in the fall, the South Carolina Supreme Court will have to decide: was this a harmless slip, or a crack in the foundation big enough to collapse the whole verdict? #AlexMurdaugh #TrueCrime #CourtroomDrama #JuryTampering #MurdaughTrial #LegalNews #CrimeNews #SouthCarolina #TrueCrimeToday #HiddenKillers Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Alex Murdaugh Appeal EXPOSED: Jury Tampering, Flawed Forensics, & Missing Evidence The Alex Murdaugh case is back in the spotlight — not because of new charges, but because of an explosive appeal that could rewrite the ending of one of the most notorious murder trials in South Carolina history. In December 2024, Murdaugh's defense team filed a 132-page appeal with the South Carolina Supreme Court, claiming his double murder trial was “infected with unfairness” from start to finish. The allegations are staggering: jury tampering by former court clerk Becky Hill, the use of questionable forensic evidence, the admission of six days of testimony about unrelated financial crimes, and the discovery of previously unseen text messages between Murdaugh and longtime associate Curtis “Eddie” Smith. At the heart of the appeal is Hill's alleged interference with jurors — comments she's accused of making during the trial, urging them not to believe Murdaugh's testimony. Hill has since been arrested on perjury, obstruction, and misconduct charges, but not for jury tampering itself. The defense says this is enough to demand a new trial. The State says it's inappropriate but not enough to overturn the verdict. The forensic fights are just as intense, with the defense attacking shell casing toolmark analysis and an unscientific “iPhone toss” demonstration used to rebut their theory of a third-party culprit. And now, the Eddie Smith texts have thrown fuel on the fire, with the defense claiming they were never disclosed. The State's response is due any day now. Oral arguments could happen this fall, but a ruling may not come until 2026. If the convictions fall, it won't mean Murdaugh is declared innocent — it will mean the court decided the trial itself wasn't fair. #AlexMurdaugh #MurdaughAppeal #TrueCrime #BeckyHill #EddieSmith #SouthCarolina #CourtroomDrama #LegalUpdate #MurdaughMurders #Justice Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
