Do you ever feel torn between pursuing your vision for your agency and the weight of daily fears that hold you back? Balancing your ambitions with the practical realities of agency management can seem like an endless struggle. For agency owners, the tension between dreaming big and the fear of financial instability or losing clients often means you are constantly stuck in the here and now (on the client service hamster wheel of doom!) and have no time to breath let alone plan for the future! So in today's podcast you'll discover how to: 1. Transform your dream of long-term autonomy for your agency into actionable steps that lead to a more self-sufficient business. 2. Tackle and overcome the financial fears that can cripple your agency, turning vulnerabilities into strengths. 3. Define success on your terms, ensuring both your agency's profitability and your personal fulfilment. Gain insights that will help you balance dreams and fears, and start steering your agency towards a thriving future. So grab a notebook, and let's dive in. Questions Answered in this Episode Q: Why is having a big picture dream so important? Q: How do fears of financial instability impact the daily decision-making of agency owners? Q: In what ways can documenting processes assist in moving towards a self-running agency? Q: How can smaller agencies leverage their size as an advantage against larger competitors? Q: How can redefining success beyond revenue lead to a more fulfilling and sustainable agency life? Quotations “The tension between our ambitions and our anxieties is what drives us to innovate and push our agencies forward. Embrace it, don't fear it.” - Rob Da Costa “Running an agency means navigating hiccups, mistakes, and setbacks. But these imperfections are where the most valuable lessons will come from” - Rob Da Costa “To achieve true autonomy in your agency, you need to build a strong team culture where people feel empowered to make decisions and take ownership. It's not about doing everything yourself, but about building a self-running agency.” - Rob Da Costa Rate, Review, & Subscribe on Apple Podcasts “I enjoy listening to The Agency Accelerator Podcast. When I read the synopsis for Mary Pat Johns' Lovin' on Red prior to our interview, I just had a feeling I was going to love this series.  Listen in to see why I'm certain of it after our conversation. note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you.  If you've been around for a while, you've probably heard me figure out that I do like romance--if it's a romcom, that is.  That's not to say I never enjoy a good story that happens to be a romance, but hey. If it's a romcom (and a good one), I'm sure to like it for the romance itself. BONUS points if it has fun other story elements (can we just say there needs to be more romcom mysteries?). Chatting with Mary Pat Johns was a whole lot of fun, and she hooked me on the idea for her stories right off the bat. I especially like how she has ways for us to get all the "Valiant stories as quickly as possible, so be sure to check all that out.   Lovin' on Red by Mary Pat Johns  Rory is a wildly successful contractor with all the right connections. He has everything, except the woman who sees past his missing foot. If only the tiny redhead he's insanely attracted to would go on a date with him, it could work, but Vi refuses. Licensed massage therapist Vi Summers needs her childhood home remodeled, and Rory Spence is the perfect man for the job. Only he's the last person she wants to work with. Despite Rory's reputation as a flirt, his tender attention to getting her house right helps Vi see into his heart. Too bad her past mistakes prevent a future relationship. In this week's episode of The Agency Accelerator Podcast, I am joined by Rory Spence from The Wow Company. Rory started out his career in the company as an accountant, and progressed to a client manager, and currently works as an account manager. He loves helping ambitious agency owners who want to grow more profitably and sustainably. He's helped thousands of agencies across the UK, advising them on their pricing strategy, project management, and financial processes - all focused on helping them increase their profit. In this part 1 of a 2-part special, Rory shares his top tips on how to increase your prices.   Many agencies think it is difficult to increase their prices (especially in a pandemic) so Rory shares his advice as well as what he is seeing across the industry. So grab a pen and get ready to take notes in the action-packed episode. Time Stamp [1:04] How the pandemic has affected agencies: Rory's overview [3:27] Should we increase pricing every year? It's gonna be really difficult for you.” - Rory Spence“When we talk about selling time and materials, we're selling inputs and outputs. This week on World Forge we try our hand at creating a superhero team to rival the Avengers! To do so we had our good friend Rory Spence from Doghair presents on to (try to) keep us from making fools of ourselves, we'll let you be the judges of how well he did. We talk about a man who was bit by a radioactive fiddler crab who also might be the son of the devil, a sequel to the human centipede, and a cool lady made of kicks who hangs out with the ghost of her dad's arm. Give us a listen and let us know how we did! We also talked about a great resource for dungeon masters and players alike called the Obsidian Portal, a place where you can manage your campaigns, and find players and DMs looking for groups in your area. Check obsidianportal.com for details if you think this may be a helpful resource for your games. If you want to find more of Rory, his show Doghair Presents can be found on all major podcast apps, and he can be reached on twitter @RoryMSpence or @DoghairNetwork And as usual you can find more of us on twitter @WorldForgePod. We can also be reached via email at worldforgepod@gmail.com. If you enjoyed this episode please let us know by contacting us at whichever of those methods you find most convenient. We also love to see your ideas for prompts and any kind of fan art, fan mail, or fan fiction you come up with based on our silly ideas. If you're feeling especially generous, please leave us a review on iTunes, it really helps to get our show out there and in front of new listeners. Thanks for tuning in listeners, as always we'll be back again next week with another fun topic. Bye!

It's time for another Podcast crossover! As we conclude our Halloween 'Season of the Wolf' we're joined by Phil Better of The Phil Better Show and Rory Spence from Doghair Presents to discuss 'Wolf' - a 1994 romantic horror starring Jack Nicholson, James Spader and Michelle Pfieffer.  Now, if any actor was born to play a werewolf, it's probably Jack Nicholson. But while he certainly looked the part, we found this movie slightly lacking in bite. Fortunately there were enough weird and wonderful moments to keep us engaged - not least the dated effects, bizarrely inappropriate jazz saxophone score and the frequently terrible use of body doubles.  Made for a surprisingly pricey $70 million, Wolf just about turned a profit on release, but despite the starry cast is largely forgotten today. Can we make the case for a belated sequel? Tune into this week's episode to find out... ----- Every week on Beyond the Box Set, we take a classic standalone movie and compete to pitch fantasy sequel, prequel or spin-off ideas to bring them back to the big screen. Sometimes alone, sometimes with special guests, we're putting a fresh spin on the Hollywood canon.  If you enjoy the show, please hit subscribe to receive a new episode every Friday morning. Greetings, Citizens! A few weeks ago, in preparation for our two-part Star Wars: A New Hope episode, I had a conversation with our first guest, Rory Spence. The original plan would have been to release the Star Wars review as one episode, and possibly tack on this conversation at the end as a bonus. We had no idea we'd talk for 3 hours about A New Hope, so we decided it would be best to split the episode up (not unlike Luke and Leia).  This episode was just a conversation between Rory and myself as a way to test out the Skype connection. Rather than throw it away, we thought it would release it as an episode. We mostly talk about The Force Awakens as well as a bit of Deadpool. We also discussed some of the comics we're currently reading (or intending to read).
