Last month, we covered a topic that was a perfect preview of the conversations we are holding throughout August. This month is wholly focused on nonprofit leaders, thought leaders, people in thought leadership and executive directors, especially those who do a lot of fundraising and relationship building. To start us off, I have Dana on today's episode to talk about: Sustainable giving models that help build long-term relationships with donors, ensuring a steady flow of support. The power of personal storytelling and how measuring impact can amplify our fundraising efforts and create partnerships aligned with our values. Our journeys in writing and publishing books as nonprofit leaders. 00:00 - Introduction More about our guest today Dana Snyder is a dynamic speaker, author, host of the acclaimed global nonprofit podcast “Missions to Movements”, and the visionary creator of the Monthly Giving Mastermind. Her mission is to empower nonprofits to attract potential supporters through innovative digital marketing and to create sustainable giving models by establishing robust monthly giving programs, making philanthropy accessible to all. Dana's impressive career includes serving as a Senior Digital Strategist at DKC in New York City, where she worked with prestigious clients such as The Honest Company, Sports Illustrated, and Delta Airlines. She also brought her digital expertise to American Idol as a Digital Producer. Additionally, Dana has held the roles of Director of Marketing and Development for Take Stock in Children of Sarasota County and Client Manager at Omnigon. A sought-after keynote speaker and workshop facilitator, Dana has graced the stages of renowned conferences like NIO Summit, Cause Camp, Classy Collaborative, and the Nonprofit Storytelling Conference, sharing her insights and inspiring nonprofit professionals. Dana holds a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Central Florida. Now based in Atlanta, she enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her husband, baby girl and labradoodle, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. 02:10 - Building a sustainable giving model through recurring donations. Dana shares her expertise on the value of focusing on recurring donors over one-time unicorns, the benefits of this approach for nonprofits, and valuable insights on creating and marketing a successful monthly giving program. 13:22 - Writing a book, challenges and benefits of sharing personal stories. As published authors, Dana and I share unique insights on what it takes to produce a great book, our personal experience along the way, the hurdles we faced and the pros and cons of hybrid publishing, self-publishing, and traditional publishing. If you are looking into writing a book, start! Once you get to publishing, these insights will help you figure out what works for you. 20:58 - Self-publishing a book for nonprofit leaders - tips on marketing and partnerships. When I was on a book tour, I didn't want to spend exorbitantly, so my team and I came up with an innovative strategy to promote it. By partnering with existing partners, we utilized their resources to not only promote my book but also highlight my nonprofit's mission and programs. Check out this course for support materials to learn how you can do the same! 28:58 - conclusion We haven't discussed nonprofits and fundraising in a while, but we hope this conversation will equip you with the tools to achieve this year's fundraising goals. Keep these tools handy and feel free to connect with Dana and me. We would love to hear from you! Welcome back to another captivating episode of the WGI Unleashed Podcast! In our 83rd episode, we explore the story of Andrew Miller, WGI's Senior Client Manager in our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering (MEP) department. Andrew's journey from a young engineering enthusiast to a key figure at WGI showcases his dedication, passion, and diverse range of interests. This episode offers a fascinating glimpse into his life, career, and the hobbies that have helped shape him into the professional he is today! Laying the Foundation Andrew, who was born in Orlando, Florida, grew up in the greater Tampa Bay area. Unlike many kids who grew up with LEGO sets, Andrew found himself drawn to K'nex. He enjoyed assembling and disassembling the pieces in unique and creative ways, and with this early fascination with "how things work," it was clear that Andrew was taking his first steps into the world of engineering. A pivotal moment in Andrew's youth came in the form of a TV commercial, which sparked his interest in pursuing a career in engineering. Determined, Andrew applied to only one school—Georgia Tech—where he majored in mechanical engineering after deciding that Robotics was not the path for him. Andrew relished the experience of attending college in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, a non-traditional college environment that offered many unique experiences and opportunities. From Intern to Senior Client Manager While at Georgia Tech, Andrew participated in an internship co-op program, gaining hands-on experience through multiple internships at the same company. Looking back, Andrew realizes that this experience was crucial in his professional development and has also helped to pave the way for a job offer upon graduation. However, upon graduating in 2010, and amidst the lingering effects of the 2008 recession, Andrew felt the urge to explore new horizons and gain additional professional experience. A job opportunity in Austin, Texas, found through Craigslist, of all places, allowed him to dive deeper into the MEP industry and cut his teeth with one of the largest firms in Texas. This move proved instrumental in his career, providing him with invaluable experience. Andrew's next opportunity came in the form of Big Red Dog, a firm later acquired by WGI. This acquisition opened up numerous opportunities for him, enabling significant growth within the MEP department. Today, as the only Senior Client Manager at WGI, Andrew serves as the point person for all new MEP opportunities, describing his role as: "Working at the intersection of creativity and engineering expertise." The Man Behind the Engineer Beyond his professional life, Andrew is a self-described "Hobby Guy," with his passions including golf and woodworking. Although he has yet to become a scratch golfer, his woodworking skills are impressive, as he's built nearly all of the furniture in his home. Music has also played a significant role in Andrew's life, as he has been playing the trumpet and guitar for many years. Once an avid weightlifter, Andrew now also enjoys days at home alongside his wife and their Shih Tzu - Peter Cornelius (affectionately known as Peco). Engineering for the Community Andrew takes immense pride in creating spaces that serve his community. He finds excitement in seeing people interact with the designs he has helped bring to life and relishes seeing the enjoyment that his work can bring to his clients. This dedication to his community and profession truly sets Andrew apart as a leader in the MEP field! Join us in thanking Andrew Miller for sharing his fascinating story - from his early days in Tampa to his current role at WGI; Andrew's story is one of inspiration, growth, and unwavering dedication to his craft! Don't forget to tune in next time as we unravel more captivating tales and insights on the WGI Unleashed Podcast. Until then, stay inspired and keep unleashing your potential! Although deep-sea mining has never occurred at commercial scale, the growing interest in the minerals and metals found on the seabed could prompt a shift in the status quo. As the world looks to address climate change, increased demand for required base metals and critical minerals that support large scale deployments of green technologies is a real concern. Against this backdrop, some point to deep-sea mining as a potential solve, but it's not that simple. The topic is also garnering further attention—and increased scrutiny—since the International Seabed Authority missed its July 9 deadline to adopt seabed mining regulation. As it stands, the organization is now required to review, and therefore could provisionally approve, applications for deep-sea exploitation without any governing framework in place. PGIM Fixed Income's Co-Head of ESG Research, Armelle de Vienne, and ESG Research Specialist, James Malone, CFA, discuss the many dimensions of this complex subject: its potential and criticality as it relates to the green transition, the pros and cons of deep-sea mining, and the countries and industries lobbying for and against deep-sea mining. Further, the duo explores the investment implications, including the near- and long-term implications of this highly capital-intensive business, if there's economic foundation to make the endeavor profitable, and the impact to corporate and sovereign issuers. Find all of this and more in this episode of Fixed on ESG, hosted by Client Manager, Ruth Klavert. Recorded on July 25, 2023.

The Gen Z and millennial female audience's top source for finding products to purchase is influencers' posts on social media. The current consumer behaviour shift is huge for the influencer marketing industry. A change in shopping habits like this means that consumers are relying on influencers to a greater extent than ever before - to offer inspiration and to help them navigate the eCommerce jungle. This fact alone is argument enough to scale up your influencer marketing. But together with the knowledge that we are spending more time on social media plus the emerging shift from traditional retail to eCommerce to social commerce - it's impossible to dismiss influencer marketing as a campaign-based silo channel. Instead, you have to incorporate it into your overall marketing strategy, just like you would your other marketing channels. In this week's episode we got Julia Arheden, Client Manager at Cure Media with us to share her expertise on why you're risking more by doing less when working with influencer marketing. We'll be talking about: Risks of working at a small-scale with influencer marketing The consumer behaviour shift and what it means for brands How to stand out from the crowd with influencer marketing

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has announced that Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is using its digital mapping platform to develop a number of interactive resources to keep the public informed and support local business throughout COVID-19. Built using Esri’s mapping software ArcGIS, the council created an interactive Open for Business map, which shows what shops and services are available to the public throughout the borough. The map also shows business opening hours, delivery and collection information and what safety measures the business has in place, all helping to support local enterprises as they reopen. A dedicated COVID-19 information and advice hub also built using ArcGIS is available on the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council website and homes a wide collection of resources with further information and advice for local businesses, vulnerable members of society and the wider community in the area. The council’s COVID-19 Coordination Hub connects people to vital community support services and has had more than 1,200 referrals to date from Advice NI and the Northern and Western Health and Social Care Trusts. It helps provide an important continuation of services and access to supports for the most vulnerable people during the pandemic. Formed in 2015 following the merger of four different councils, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council provides public services to more 144,000 citizens throughout the region. Since its formation, the council has worked closely with Esri Ireland to implement GIS across the entire organisation, digitally transforming its services to enhance engagement with the public and enable better, more informed decision making. Esri’s software enables legal and finance teams to view all of the council’s agreements, leases and licences on one secure platform, eliminating the need to review unwieldy paper-based records and saving both time and money for the council. Esri’s survey app, Survey123, enables field-workers to gather data on mobiles, tablets and laptops from anywhere in the borough. This information, for example on the condition of local facilities and amenities, can be made available to view across the entire council for analysis in real-time. Philip McLaughlin, Client Manager, Esri Ireland, said: “COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of clear communication between local government and the public. Having already rolled out GIS across many functions, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council was well-placed to leverage the power of digital mapping to create numerous rich information resources that are proving incredibly helpful to local businesses and residents. “In both supporting people and businesses during COVID-19, as well as using GIS to transform its processes and services, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has shown what is possible for a local authority willing to transform how they engage and collaborate with their community.” Nial McSorley, Digital Services Manager, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, said: “The biggest challenge for us as a council is in how to interpret the sheer volume of information that is available today. With Esri’s digital platform, we can compress all the different information channels into a single source, enabling us to meaningfully analyse and use data to make intelligent decisions. “As we look to move on responsibly from COVID-19 restrictions, we will again leverage digital mapping to stimulate local tourism and support the reopening of businesses. Beyond that, we will continue to roll out GIS to further areas in the council and ensure all members of our staff can access and use the platform to enhance every aspect of the public services we deliver.” More about Irish Tech News and Business Showcase here. Jim's willingness to self reflect openly is rare in grown men and makes for an interview that should open your mind and heart to being a better parent. In each episode of Learning to Dad with Tyler Ross, Tyler pulls lessons, tools and experiences from his guests, high achieving professionals (investors, entrepreneurs, business owners, athletes, etc) who've managed to find balance between their personal pursuits and being a thoughtful, deliberate father and partner. In these long form interviews, guests provide the listeners the value of their experiences, from taking professional risks to how they pivoted their professional approach after starting a family.
