Michael and Jess discuss their love for Samara Morgan in Gore Verbinski's 2002 US remake of Ringu (1998). They also talk about whether the sequels are any good: the short film Rings (2005), The Ring Two (2005), and the feature-length Rings (2017).
Every so often a movie comes along that traumatizes an entire generation. The 70s had 'The Exorcist' and 'Jaws', the 80s had pretty much the entire Indiana Jones trilogy, the 90s had the velociraptors from 'Jurassic Park'... and if you were the right age in 2002, you will always remember Samara Morgan and the seven days you spent in taut, tense fear after watching 'The Ring'. So let's unburden that collective trauma by going over the film together, shall we?
October 18th, 2002. You just got done watching a weird movie. The phone rings once. Twice. Three times. You answer it. There's no one on the other end. Just as you're about to hang up you hear, "7 days". Panic sets in. Samara Morgan is coming for you. You have no time left. Good luck. Does The Ring hold up? You won't need 7 days to find out. Just the hour for this podcast. Starring: Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, Brian Cox, David Dorfman, and Daveigh Chase as Samara. Directed by Gore Verbinski Rated PG-13 Thanks for listening.

Our Halloween episode is here! People lost their minds when The Ring came out almost 20 years ago. @KenKrantzcomic lost his mind when people try to tell him this is a scary and good movie. Ken explains why PG-13 movies can't be labeled as, "THE SCARIEST MOVIES" ever and delves into why this film should've been chopped up by a barge's propellers. E Peter OToole morreu?
